Which headphones?

Well I am about to order a nano but I think I should be upgrading my headphones. If the ones that come with the nano are anything like the ones that came with my last ipod, they were just the foam earbuds. The ones that leak out all that great music and dont have the sharp sound to them or bass... and i want it!
so I had upgraded to some in-ear buds from sony for about $90 4 years ago. Now I am looking for something similar to what I used to have and want your suggestions.
I would like to keep the price around $40-70 CDN, and in that price range I saw the in-ear buds that apple offers for $50 CDN. Does anyone have this set? What do you think about it?

my only problem with the apple buds is that they do not seem to offer them in black (because im getting a black nano)
so does anyone have suggestions for in-ear buds arond $40-70???
thx in advance guys

ya those are similar to the ones i got about 4 years ago, so im guessing that is just the new model. I liked the sony's performance for the price but I have not been able to experience anything else, so thats why I ask for opinions
sounds like its a safe bet, but im sure there will be a few more options suggested by the time my lil nano arrives

which headphones come with the ipod?  have they upgraded to remote headphones?  and what style of remote?  thanks for your feedback!

It's been awhile since I've logged on and for a very good reason. It's bc of you, PT and your incredibly hurtful remarks that have kept me away. After signing on tonight I was reminded of your insensitive and rude remarks targeted to myself,  a Brand new member that you had never met before. I know that you don't care about what I have to say but I did want to put it out there anyways...... Your comments were very hurtful and incredibly mean. For someone who obviously spends a lot of time online and who socializes with other members in this apple community, it is incredibly childish and irresponsible for you to have treated a new member so cruelly. Why would you go out of your way to BULLY A new girl who was just trying to get a few answers about a product?
Yes, maybe my comments were a little bit silly and stupid but by no means were my intentions to be hurtful or malicious.......................on the other hand, your comments were also stupid and silly. Difference being that your comments were malicious and were intended to hurt.
I don't know much about the level system and the point system nor do I care....but as far as I can see, you have not progressed very far since 2011 and I can definitely see why.

  • Which headphones are good for gaming ?

i am thinking of buying gaming headphones . which ones are the best for a macbook pro ?

If you want to do any serious gaming, get a desktop PC. Preferrably build your own (saves a lot of money).
Alienware laptops are over-priced and over-hyped. For that much money, you could build a beast gaming rig.
There are some tutorials online by this awesome guy that should help you get started!

  • Which headphones to buy

It's time to buy new studio monitor headphones. I'm torn between the first three on this list:
    http://www.sweetwater.com/store/category/c412/
    -Sennheiser HD 280 Pro
    -Sony MDR-7506
    -AKG K240 Studio
each of these seems like nice, high quality studio monitors. Maybe I'm not really asking which one TO buy, but rather, which one NOT to buy... have you heard anything particularly bad about any of these models?
or maybe one really shines? they all look almost identical to me, save for some superficial differences.
can i get any help? buying tonight.

I've got the AKG cans, I think it's the 240s or the 241s if there is such a thing, I don't have them in front of me.
they sound great, I was quite impressed with the definition of the bass in them compared to the sennheisers I tried. the sennheisers definitely had more bass, but it wasn't necessarily as accurately shaped, to my ears.
one thing that annoys me and that makes me think I wouldn't buy these cans again is the 'automatic cut-out' feature that disables the sound when you remove them from your head. I don't see the point of a 'feature' like this, especially as whatever sensing technology it uses could get damaged, which would just ruin them totally. also, it's irritating for when you want to record vocals.. I often use the 'half an ear off' technique, where you get the vocalist to pull one of the headphone cups halfway across their ear or totally off, pressing it against their head to prevent spill of course.. the idea is that they hear some of their own voice right there in the space they are singing and it can sometimes help with controlling pitch especially when they are singing in a difficult to control range. anyway, with these cans, you have to sort of trick them that they are still being worn in the way you hold them, or they cut out.
I'm actually considering taking them in to get a technician to permanently disable this feature as I don't have any use for it.
but that's just me. apart from that, they sound great, and they are very sturdy, also the cable is detachable which is good for transporting them, the cable is usually the first thing that gets damaged with cans.

  • Which headphones with 3.5 mm jack is the best?

Hello could you help me? I need a headphones for mobile, with 3.5 mm jack. You know I have a Sony NWZ-B142F 2GB but it's headphones has been damaged. I really liked them. could you tell me what is the model of that headphones? or could you suggest me some headphones that will be compatible with 3.5 mm. Mostly I'm interested in best sound quality and if they will be smaller ones, in-ear style, it would be great. Please Thank you.

Hi SosoMarnadze.  If you are in the US, you may want to consider checking this link http://store.sony.com/earbuds/cat-27-catid-All-Earbuds for the available ear buds that has a stereo miniplug.

  • Which headphones are better? Apple in ear or Sennheiser i300?

    Which are better?

Apple dosen't list the iPhone 4S in the compatibility list, but I didn't find anything that said it wouldn't work.  The iPhone 4 is listed as being compatible.  I don't think anything was changed between the 4 and 4S that would make the 4S incompatible, but am not sure.  I suggest you call your local Apple Store to see if they know.

  • Which Headphone Should I Buy?

Hello There! I'm looking to buy another headphone for my iPhone and I can't decide between these three. Can you please help me choose the best?
    1. iPhone FMJ by Skullcandy.
    2. Z.buds by Zagg.
    3. MM 50 by Sennheiser.

I don't have experience with those models, so I can not say anything about them. I have the Bose Earbuds and am extremely happy with sound, fit and quality. I would highly recommend them.

  • Which bluetooth headphones?

Hi all, pretty new here. I've had a look around, and can't really decide which headphones to buy. My b-day is coming around, and was wanting bluetooth earbud, but have heard so many bad reviews on what's available. Have been looking for a while, just curious what your thoughts are.

Yes, for the most part. I have earbud stereo headphones that are wired, and would like to get rid of the wire basically. Bluetooth seems the way to go, but from the reports I have been reading - iphone/apple bluetooth doesn't work well with most bluetooth headphones. I would like to simply listen to music, but be able to control the track and volume.. Would also like to have great audio in a stereo ear bud style headphone, but not the type that are connected around the neck, but rather are tethered together by a wire, so that I could only have one earbud in place while hiding the other. Talking on the phone with them is not necessary for my needs, just want to listen to music and control it, and have good sound.
    Thanks!

  • Compatible Headphones with Mac that work with skype

    Hi antonisk,
As I mentioned above, the Logitech K400 is superb for the job if you can purchase one.  It is light and really easy to use with the phone and LiveDock.
I think Sony Ericsson should be more specific on the website about what works with their LiveDock.  It should give at least a few compatible keyboards in the description and not just wait for people to buy the product and then spend time and money finding what will work with it.
They make great costly videos showing the customer that the LiveDock can be connected to a keyboard, mouse and games controller, but don't tell us which ones to go out and buy, if you want to take up this option.
I would have thought with these options being the main reason why the LiveDock was manufactured, that they would have spent a little time finding which devices actually work with it and not just waiting for people like myself to have to trawl the internet and worst still buy products that aren't compatible.

  • Why MBA (Mid - 2013) doesn't support with Bose Headphones for Audio Input

I just bought two MBA 11(mid - 2013)  and MBA 13 (mid - 2013) two week ago and I found out that it doesn't support bose audio headphone (MIE2i mobile headphone) for audio input. So I am having experience for audio input with it. When I am having skype or recording, the voice go slient if i use that headphone as external microphone. All of my friends who are skyping with me can't heard my voice if i am doing skype with my MBA.  Audio output is fine though, you can hear as usual in headphones. Internal microphone works though,  but it is not good for privacy though.
Thus, I went to apple store (Five ave) to trouble shoot about it, they said that is because Bose has noise cancelling, (BUT Bose MIE2i doesn't have noise cancelling though). They gave me two ear buds of apple ipod (one is outdate version & another one is latest version - that representative sucked, because she doesn't value the customer, she gave me outdate ear-buds, but i didn't urge with 3 dollars ear-buds), apple ear-bud works for audio input and output, however apple ipod ear buds are suck, it hurts the ears all time if you wear for 1 hrs. that's why I use quality headphone such as Bose headphones. Unfortunately, my bose headphone is not compatible at all.
Is there any one having experiences with audio input with your headphones when you are using skype or audio recording. Which headphone is compatible with your MBA for input/output?

The MacBook Air has a single headphone port. The microphone or headset in question must be of the three-ring variety, just like Apple’s headsets ......, the Macbook Air has the “headset” port,  not a conventional 2-ring mic and speaker port.
    Many are using this,
    http://store.griffintechnology.com/imic
Youre likely going to need to get a USB headset to use with your Air.   OR, standard headphones plus a USB Mic.

  • Modifying headphones to fit iPhone, my results - add your own

Like many others, I'm sure, I decided to try cutting some of the rubber away on my headphones' jacks so they would fit my iPhone properly. I thought I'd post my results and see if anyone else had experience with which headphones lend themselves more and less to this option.
I tried modifying my Koss Porta Pro headphones first, and it worked out extremely well. The rubber is very soft and the spot where it becomes thinner is a perfect place to cut, almost looks like it was suppose to be like that. They fit snugly in the iPhone now and sound great. Unfortunately using them with an iPhone doesn't make them look any less like they're from the 80s.
I tried the same technique with my Sony Street Style foldable headphones with less success. My first attempt (again at the spot where they get thinner) apparently wasn't far enough back and the jack fit in, but only at one angle (with the cord facing the hold switch), and if rotated they would unplug. I tried again and eventually got it cut far back enough to work, but there were two layers of plastic, and the bottom layer is much much tougher to get through, also the result wasn't very pretty. They do fit snugly in the iPhone now, and still sound fine, but it wasn't nearly as easy.
If anyone has tried this on a pair of Bose Around Ear headphones I would love to know how that went. I'm thinking about getting a pair but I don't really want to carry around one of those Belkin adapters.
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.7GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.7GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.7GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I forgot I have a pair of Sennheiser PX200s. They have a straight plug that looks pretty skinny so I thought they might not need to be modified, no dice though. The rubber is similar to that of the Koss headphones so the cut was easy, since it's a round straight jack you can just roll the jack under a knife to make a straight cut, but there's no real guide for where to do it because it's all uniform thickness. In the process I cut some sort of small clear plastic piece underneath, hopefully it wasn't critical (heh), but they still feel sturdy and sound fine, and of course fit in the iPhone now.

  • Speaker/headphone/audio jack problem

I've recently been having a problem with my headphones. The computer recognizes that I've plugged them in but it still uses the external speakers and there's no sound coming through the headphones. I've tried more than one pair of headphones and it still doesn't work. Restarting the computer worked once but not anymore.

    Hi, there.
Newly purchased refurbished T430 Thinkpad with Windows 8.
Listening to music, I plugged in my headphones, everything worked just fine.
Unplugged the headphones to use on another device. Computer speakers worked fine continuing to play the music. So far so good.
But then when I went to plug the headphones back in, the computer did not switch to using the headphones to provide the sound. Just the main speakers.
The headphones make a chirping sound when plugged in (indicating the computer is recognizing the headphones).
The sound device area of the control panel indicates the headphones are working normally, but I can get no other sound from them except the "plug-in" sound.
    Assistance is welcome.
EDIT: Oh, now the headphones work, but the computer speakers do not. No consistency as to which (headphone or speaker) is going to work and when; which is frustrating.

  • Ipod nano 5G (16GB) ruining all my headphones

did it happen to another users? because i had to buy over 10 headphones in a year
if it did happen, which headphones will last more time?

Are you wanting to buy an older one?  If so you can still find them on sites such as Amazon or via other online resellers.  If you don't mind purchasing the current generation, you can get one directly from Apple's online store.

  • Sound only comes through one headphone

I use my ipod with a belkin accessory in the car to play through my radio speakers and it plays fine, i havent used my ipod with headphones for a while and doesnt matter which headphones i use can only get one headphone to work and i know its not the headphones as they work fine on my husbands ipod, im wondering if its the jack that is damaged, if this is so, would it be cheaper to buy a new ipod than try to get it repaired?

It probably is the jack. You can check with http://www.iresq.com and see what they charge to replace a headphone jack (you can Google for other 3rd party repair sites), you can buy a headphone jack and replace it yourself (http://www.ifixit.com has videos on how to disassemble your iPod so you can see if you want to attempt this).
    Or you can buy this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA070G/D
    and bypass the headphone jack.
