Which bluetooth headphones?

Hi all, pretty new here. I've had a look around, and can't really decide which headphones to buy. My b-day is coming around, and was wanting bluetooth earbud, but have heard so many bad reviews on what's available. Have been looking for a while, just curious what your thoughts are.

Yes, for the most part. I have earbud stereo headphones that are wired, and would like to get rid of the wire basically. Bluetooth seems the way to go, but from the reports I have been reading - iphone/apple bluetooth doesn't work well with most bluetooth headphones. I would like to simply listen to music, but be able to control the track and volume.. Would also like to have great audio in a stereo ear bud style headphone, but not the type that are connected around the neck, but rather are tethered together by a wire, so that I could only have one earbud in place while hiding the other. Talking on the phone with them is not necessary for my needs, just want to listen to music and control it, and have good sound.
Thanks!

  • Which Bluetooth headphones are better for iPhone 4?

    Hi.
I did a search on the forums looking for recommendations on a good pair of wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my new iPhone 4, but didn't find any thread for actual users to review or recommend brands or so...
So, I wanted to know if do you use wireless headphones for music/video playback? Which brands/models are better in your opinion? (either with or without calling functionality).
    Thanks in advance!

I've taken a look at my apple online store (Spain) and found this set:
    Altec/Lansing BackBeat 906
They look like a nice option as well, very similar to the Motorola S9 HD, (and also a little cheaper)
Do you guys have these Altec headphones? Any reviews and/or comments?
    Thanks!

  • Can I use a Bluetooth headphone/microphone for capture sound instead of normal iPhone mic when shooting video?

Can I use a Bluetooth headphone/microphone for capture sound instead of normal iPhone mic when shooting video?
The sound when I record video is not so good, so I'm trying to use the Bluetooth headphone/microphone to capture a person voice but not know which setting to use.

    Hi Robert
Thanks for answering. I didn't know where to post other than the bluetooth forum which is relatively quiet and had no answers forthcoming.
Yes the voice isn't reaching the amp although it is registering on the input bar in the Sound System Prefs, just won't "play through" as it were. I can't see how it could be done I was just hoping someone might see something I am missing.
It seems a shame that you can't do it as iTunes on an old iBook makes a good juke box for DJ'ing and with everything becoming wireless these days it seems sensible that you could cut that one last wire.

  • Question about Bluetooth & Headphones to avoid damaging the miniport!?

Well, I finally experienced the same thing a lot of others have already ... the left side audio failed completely on my Touch, so I had to go return it and have it replaced. Luckily, the folks at Best Buy were nice enough to just swap it out and give me a new one, even though I was outside of my 30-day return policy. I have a service plan there, but I didn't want to go without my Touch while they replaced it elsewhere and sent me a refurbished device which probably wouldn't be in the same condition I keep my own in (immaculate -- 40+ days I've used it for 3+ hours a day, and there is hardly a scratch on the stainless steel, and the screen is flawless ... or was).
So now I have a new Touch, but I want to prevent this from happening again. Personally, I think the mini-port on the Touch, while it doesn't have the same problem as those of the iPhones, it has a design problem as well. But I don't want this thread to end up being a discussion of whether there is a design issue or not, but rather I need some help to find an accessory to fit my specific needs.
What I am looking for is either, a website actually selling [this product|http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/28/princeton-technologys-bluetooth-head phone-adapter/|Visit www.podtropolis.com today!] to customers in the U.S. ... or a product nearly like it.
I don't even need the iPod-Bluetooth transmitter, as those are VERY common. What I need is the other part, the receiver with a miniport Audio-Out (headphone jack). I don't even need the capabilities of the remote. Especially since this particular device may not even WORK with the iPod Touch. I'm hoping the audio-out features would, but I could care less if the remote-control did.
Basically, I'm reaching out in desperation with a severe headache from too many google searches with little to show for it ... I need help finding a Bluetooth headphone Audio-Out receiver.
And before you ask why I don't just buy a pair of bluetooth headphones, my reason is this ... bluetooth headphones can't be used wired when the battery dies, or to save battery when there's little chance you're going to drop the iPod and bend the miniport connection inside. With this, I can use the headphones I already have, I like, and still easily have the capability of switching to wired if I NEED to.
This is the only way I can think of to truly prevent the overuse of the Touch's mini-port and the wear & tear that comes from it.
Please, if you have any suggestions, please provide at least a semi-accurate device name and manufacturer, or, preferably, a link to a site in English with an online store!
    Thanks!

  • Qosmio G20: How to disable/workaround SCMS-T for adiosyn with bluetooth headphones?

    Greetings All,
I've recently purchased a set of bluetooth stereo headphones (Creative CB2350) and found that due to the inclusion of SCMS-T copyright protection I cannot audiosync directly to my laptops bluetooth stack (Qosmio G20). The headphones come with an audio jack adapter (bluetooth transmitter), however it runs on a single AAA battery and cannot last more than about an hour; so I need to connect without this.
Is there any way to disable or workaround the requirement for SCMS-T copyright-protection in the latest toshiba bluetooth stack? and if not why not?! I've paid good money for both my Qosmio and my Headphones and I'm quit infuriated at the deliberate inclusion of software/firmware designed specifically to prevent me from using my hardware for legitimate purposes (i.e. what they were designed to do).
    Please Help Me,
    Lee ([email protected])
PS: Frankly I didn't have much of a problem with DRM technology before this, but now I can see just how irritating and pointless DRM is; compare the number of people who actually use bluetooth devices for pirating (negligable) to the number of bluetooth headphones that do not support SCMS-T (alot if all my google searchs are anything to go by) and you see just how stupid the whole idea of DRM over bluetooth really is.
In my not so humble opinion big corporations like toshiba should railroaded over converluted pap such as SCMS-T as a matter of recourse; the end user doesn't want to spend several years downloading licenses and scouring the web only to find out his/her hardware is utterly useless. (sorry for the rant but that is how I feel).

    Hy there deepblue,
    Thanks for responding again.
Initially I had thought that the adapter/transmitter failed due to a dead battery, although I have since confirmed that the battery is not dead, in fact the adapter works fine (at least for a time). It would seem that the adapter simply shuts down at random intervals (it has happened a few times now) and I can't figure out for the life of me why; the adapter is designed to switch-off after 2 minutes of inactivity although each time it (randomly) switches off I have been recieving audio so perhaps there is something wrong with the auto switch-off function? or perhaps the batteries are in the process of dying?
I have can't recall seeing an estimate of battery lifetime for the adapter on the creative product website (that is not to say there isn't one) but the headset has an estimated continuous runtime of up to 8 hours (on its 2xAAA batteries) so I would assume that the adapter can last at least as long (on its 1xAAA battery); if not this amounts to a major design flaw in my opinion. Sadly the adapter doesn't come with an AC adapter, it is only little itself and I assume it would require one heck of a transformer. ;)
Bah, I'll try and get the blasted thing to work reliably over the next week or so and if I have no luck creative can sort it out. It would still be nice to use my headset without the aid of the audio jack, seeing that headset logo on my bluetooth 'radar' screen is a bit of a tease. ;)
Incidentally I have been probing furiously to find a set of bluetooth headphones which support SCMS-T and it would seem there is only one set on the market (by bluetake) and what's more it would seem that the SCMS-T is specifically designed to degrade sound quality (don't know to what extent but regardless this seems like 1 step forward followed by 5 steps back to me) which would seem incompatible with any bluetooth consumer audio products - Toshiba me thinks it is time to lock the proponents of SCMS-T in a cupboard somewhere and get to work on bluetooth stack v5.0. ;)

  • Macbook air 11" connecting to bluetooth headphones

    Quick question.
do only mono bluetooth headphones work with the new macbook airs or do stereo headphones work as well

I had the same problem. But stumbled into its fix by selecting "stereo" or "mono" headphone in the appropriate dialogue box (I can't remember which one!).

  • Looking for a bluetooth headphone for my Macbook Air and Ipad Mini, I am not looking for a headphone that needs a transmitter to be connected to the source rather a headphone that can be connected directly via bluetooth to the source device

I am desperately looking for a bluetooth headphone that would be compatible to my Macbook air and Ipad mini both. I am more of looking for a headphone that does not need a transmitter device to be connected to the source (in this case Macbook Air and Ipad Mini) and headphone acting as a receiver, rather need a headphone that would be connected directly via bluetooth to the source, it would be great if multiple apple devices be connected simultaneously. Please suggest some good headphones.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.
Do get back to me for any other details, would be glad to share with all :)

  • Difficulty with iPad Mini and Moto sd10-hd Bluetooth headphone pairing.

My Bluetooth headphones work fine with my iPhone 4. However, my new iPad mini can't find them in discovery mode (iPhone was shut down at the time to prevent conflict). Contacted Motorola, who said that any device which uses Bluetooth profile A2DP 1.2, AVCRP 1.0, or HFP 1.5 should work. They said the problem must be on the iPad end since they work fine with the phone. I'm no Bluetooth guru. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Bluetooth headphones not working after ios6 update

I have the RF-MAB2 Rocketfish headphones. I also have an Iphone 3gs.
Both are running their latest firmware releases. After updating the iphone to IOS6 the bluetooth headphone no longer would work.
It showed paried with the iphone but music and other apps would not play any sound through the headphones.
I had to go onto the iphone, forget the device and readd it. This has resolved the issues.

I am talking about the wired headphone which received with the phone.
The problem is after the upgrade to ios6 the voice is only coming from one side ( right side ) of the headphone while listening to music.
However if I use apps like Viber, WhatsApp I can hear voice from both the side of the headphone.

  • Bluetooth Headphones for Sport (BH-503 or other......

    Hi there,
I need some new headphones for my Nokia N79 and thought I might try for some wireless ones. I like the look of the Nokia NH-503 ones. They're nice looking, have nothing that hangs round your neck like there are on most wireless headphones and they look like they clip on your ear for stability when jogging or something. I looked at the compatibility list and the N79 isn't on there. I emailed Nokia who confirmed that the BH-503 is not compatible with the N79 much to my shock and awe. I find this completely ridiculous. I was pointed in the direction of several innapropriate, ugly or expensive alternatives like the 504, 103, 903 and 604.
Does anyone know if the BH-503 is actually compatible and that Nokia just haven't tested it so are saying it isn't?
Looks like I'll be going for some wired non-Nokia branded headphones if not, which sort of sucks, I think.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

Just in case anyone is interested, the Nokia BH-503 Bluetooth Headphone DO WORK with the Nokia N79 despite what Nokia UK have told me. I took the plunge and purchased them after being sure they should work based on the Tech Specs I've found and lo and behold they do. Amazing. They're excellent headphones and I'd highly recommend them!

  • Playback (Streaming) to bluetooth headphones constantly interrupts

    Hi,
I use a pair of Sennheiser Headphones (MM 450 Travel) connected via Bluetooth to my ipad (Ipad 1st Gen, Wi-Fi 64GB with iOS 4.3.3).
I have absolutely no problem using them with content which is stored on my Ipad, like when I use the iPod application.
However, when I use applications that stream content from the net (such as Tune In, a radio application) or from a server on the local network (like Plex), playback is constantly interrupted. Further investigation revealed that, when Airplay is activated and output is redirected to the Bluetooth headphones, the ipad has trouble buffering from the network. If I disable airplay during playback, the buffer re-starts filling fast, thus confirming it is not a bandwidth problem.
Interruptions can occur every few seconds, or every minute, it is very inconsistent.
I was wondering if anybody else had this problem and if it can be solved somehow.

i also have the exact same issue with my ipad wi-fi 64gig version. sounds like an isolated issue with the 64gig versions only.

  • Bluetooth headphones sound terrible

I just purchased a pair of Philips SHB7000 bluetooth headphones and they sound absolutely terrible when paired with my Lenovo Yoga 10 tablet. Worse than an AM radio. But when I use these headphones with my PC or my Galaxy tab or my HTC One phone (all via bluetooth), it sounds great. When I try other bluetooth headphones with my Lenovo Yoga, they sound fine as well. It is this particular combination of this headphone with this tablet that it is unlistenable. Ironically, I bought these headphones specifically so I could watch videos and listen to music on the Lenovo Yoga, which is the one combination of device and headphones that does NOT work.
Any ideas why only this combo has a problem?  I asked Philips and they were completely unhelpful and pointed the finger at Lenovo.

Thanks for finding that older post.  That's really disappointing but sadly, not surprising.  I have to agree with you, my next tablet will definitely NOT be a Lenovo.  I've had a lot of problems with this tablet, this being the latest problem.  For example, I've found several apps that work with all my devices but not with the Lenovo.  Like I can't use it for Hangouts and Skype.  It also crashes a lot.  Often times I go to use it and it has shut itself off and I have to boot it.  And sometimes it won't charge because it starts draining faster than the charge, even when it is plugged into the outlet.  So this tablet is really quite useless and I'm looking for a replacement.
    Thanks for letting me vent...

  • ITunes refuses to use bluetooth headphone

At first, I didn't realize there is this forum, and posted the following in a forum which is less suitable than this one. So, I copy it here.
I'm bewildered. Consider these three items: The bluetooth setting of Mac OS (the bluetooth icon near the top right corner), a bluetooth headphone, and iTunes. In what order should I switch them on?
First of all, I use the same headphone (S305 of Motorola) with the iPhone 4 and the 6th-gen. iPod Nano without any problems. It doesn't seem to matter which is switched on first.
Now, on my iMac, I experience wierd things. For example,
    1) Switch on the headset.
    2) Bluetooth menu of iMac -> Turn on Bluetooth.
    3) Bluetooth menu of iMac -> S305 -> Use headphones.
After a while, my headset beeps and the Bluetooth
icon of the iMac turns to three dots. (Connection
    established.)
    4) Invoke iTunes. Then, the Bluetooth icon turns back
to the Bluetooth symbol, and music starts to flow
from the buildin speaker. Not from the headset!
    5) Quit iTunes.
    6) Bluetooth menu -> Turn off bluetooth.
    7) Do item (2).
    8) Do item (3).
    9) Do item (4). And then, there is an error pop-up
window, saying that the bluetooth audio failed,
    or somthing to the effect.
    10) Restart the iMac.
    11) Repeat from (1). Then, SOMETIMES, iTunes plays music
    through my headset!
I failed to see any "systematicness". It SOMETIMES works and SOMETIMES fails.
Is there any pattern here? What's the correct order to turn on various things? I ask this, because establishing a Bluetooth connection after starting iTunes SOMETIMES works!
Oh, and I'm sitting right in front of the iMac and the strength of the signal should be very good. When I do a test like the above, I turn off all other Bluetooth signals. (For example, if its Bluetooth is on, my iPhone 4 establishes a connection with my headset before my iMac does so.)
    Ryo

Are these tracks ones that iTunes played successfully before the update? If not, what format are the tracks (MP3, WAV, WMA, etc.)?
