Adobe Brings Retina Display Support To Photoshop And Illustrator CS6
As A Free Update For All Users..... if this is TRUE then how Do I get it. My CS is HORRIBLE visually. Does ANYONE know anything encouraging about this issue with Adobe CS and Retina Display???

As pointed out by John T Smith, you should post the questions in the correct forums to get swift replies.  However, yes Adobe has made its promise good and the blog to that effect is here:

To save space on the computer, Apple has decided to solder the memory onto the logic board on the MacBook Pro with Retina display and the MacBook Air, and that's why you can't add more memory after buying the Mac. This only applies to these computers, not for the other ones

  • MacBook Pro with Retina display in game graphics and SMC

I recently bought a MacBook Pro with retina display and started playing STC2 on it. I experienced  great gameplay with maxed out graphics and 30fps, however recently the fps was down and as part of my trobleshooting I reset the SMC and that seemed to correct the issue. However the computer heats up much faster now and the fans seem to labor to keep it cool. When the fps was lower before i reset the SMC the computer did not get nearly as hot. My question is; is this the OS trying to protect the hardware from overheating or just a glitch?

Well unless you want to go through the hassle of waiting for a replacement unit you can try a few things on your own.
Make sure it is plugged in and charging (Orange LED light will indicate it is charging Green means it is fully charged)
Once it is plugged in make sure everything else is unplugged
The only thing plugged in should be the power adapter
On the left hand side of your keyboard press down and hold the Control Shift and Option Keys
While you are holding down those three keys hold down the power button as well
Hold down all 4 of these for 10 seconds
    After 10 seconds let go
    Try turning your mac on
    If this works problem fixed!
If this does not work try calling 1-800-MYAPPLE (You get 90 days of free complimentary phone support on your product)
If you purchased AppleCare you have 3 years of it and you should have this number on hand it can really help you out
I always advise friends and family to purchase applecare if they plan on having their product longer than a year
You will get 3 years of phone support as well as hardware support
That means if you have any questions or anything goes wrong just call Apple
It also means if your computer breaks it is covered! Meaning no out of pocket expenses unless it is water or accidental damage
You may really want to look into purchasing applecare

  • Ipad mini with retina display has really slow and laggy streaming but very high download speed

I just got my ipad mini with retina display yesterday. The regular internet works fine as far as I can tell. I tried streaming video from watch espn, netflix, and youtube, and all three apps were so slow I couldn't watch anything. I have a high download speed too, it is 15 Mbps. I tried turning off the QOS engine in my router, and my download speed was up to 30 Mbps, and I still had the same terrible streaming quality. I tried changing the DNS as well, and this did nothing. I tried doing all the restarting and other "quick fixes," and nothing seems to work. Can anybody help me?

I requested your post be moved to the iPad forum. This is the Mac Mini desktop forum

  • Can I upgrade Memory of MacBookPro w/Retina Display?

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display.  It currently has two 4GB memory (8GB).  Can I upgrade it to two 8GB (16GB)? Can I do it myself or do I need to take it to Apple store for the upgrade?

With a Retina model, you're almost always stuck with what you ordered. As stedman1 write, the RAM cannot be upgraded - it's soldered onto the logic board. You can, however, replace the flash storage in your model -> up to 960GB (as far as I'm aware). So if you need more storage, it's available for your model.

  • Retina Display Support for Slideshow and Web Modules?

    Hello,
I have been working on a set of images from a recent vacation and created a web gallery to display them.  I am using a Retina MacBook Pro and I noticed that when loaded in the browser (Safari), the gallery images look slightly blurry - similar to "non-retina" prepared images.  I also created a slideshow in the slideshow module and they look the same.
Can someone tell me if this is due to the fact that Lightroom is not rendering the preview images to be compatible with retina (HiDPI) support?
I'm very disappointed that I have invested in such an expensive piece of hardware and I'm getting such blurry looking images.
    Thanks for the help.

Retina-display compatible image is just a fancy term for high resolution image. It looks blurry because of the upscaling. If you want it to look good, export it at higher resolution, for example 2048×1536px for the ipad screen size.

  • Irritating problem with Retina Display; dims/ flickers on and off and in weird pattern along bottom of screen

I bought a 13-inch Retina MBP in late September 2014, just a few months ago and i am starting to have problems with the screen.
First of all, the screen will sometimes fade and a weird pattern will appear at the bottom of the screen in which every second set of backlights is off and the other is on.  Here is a picture that i found on the internet; from a much older mac though but still shows the problem.
The second problem, which is more irritating, is that every now and again the screen will sort of flicker where it will get darker then lighter and keep switching the brightness in a matter of seconds.  This is so hard to look at!!
Hopefully there is an easy solution however i may have to take it to an Apple store and unfortunately get it replaced.
    Thanks.

    Howdy there chappo_10,
It sounds like you have a couple of unexpected video issues on your 13 inch MacBook Pro. I'd like to recommend these troubleshooting steps specifically to hep you determine if you need to take it to the Apple Store:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Can I buy a cellular iPad mini retina display in the US and use it in Canada with a Canadian provider

I want to buy an ipad mini retina with wifi+Cellular because it is cheaper in the us than in canada.  Will i be able to use it in canada with a canadian provider(bell, rogers or telus)?

So you really think they are that much cheaper? Look here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone/iphone4s
And that's without tax. Think again, while you can purchase such a phone here, you can only purchase directly from Apple & you will have NO WARRANTY OR SUPPORT for this phone where you live. Oh, and those prices do not include US state/local sales tax or any duties you might have to pay. Still sound like a good deal?
When using that link, first select the color, then click on "Unlocked & Contract Free", to see prices.

  • Macbook Pro with Retina Display suddenly turned off and can't turn on

I've been very happy with this new baby, for about a week now. It never gave me any problem. Then tonight it suddenly died, without any sign. Then I couldn't turn it back on again, no matter what tricks I tried. Is there any solution besides bringing it back to the Apple store tomorrow morning?
Very frustrating for an old Apple fan... I don't want to waste a couple of hours trying to fix a tech problem on a brand new Macbook Pro...

Better for what? These are two very different computers. Tell us which things you are looking for and we may be able to help you. Examples - weight, standard RAM and flash memory available, video resolution, etc.

  • HT4060 I bought my new I pad with retina display in USA. I'm confused, which adapter do I buy to use it here in UK, Apple support chat said should be 12w but I can't see that listed on support page re "charging my battery"

I bought my new iPad with retina display in the USA and now confused about charging battery. What power adapter do I buy to use here in UK

As King_Penguin said, the chargers themselves are rated for US and UK voltages, but the USB power to the iPad always rated at 10W. You can use a simple mains adapter like this:

  • Advice on Retina Display buy after unhappiness with 13" MBP

i am hoping to buy a new retina display macbook pro soon and would like to only get a 13" sized model but i was extremely unhappy with the performance of my 2009 13" which will be out of applecare warranty in about two months.
is there any way to get a handle on "how high" i have to go with my purchase and what to focus upon? i mean, i understand that i want to get as many cores as possible and that i want to get as fast a processor as possible and that the independent graphics card is on the 15" and not on the 13" but i really don't work a lot on my laptop all that much or all that intensively. OTOH, the current lappy is not so happy for some reason.
i have adobe creative suites 5.5 on my 2006 mac pro and i have parallels 8 and some CAD software that i need to use in windows on the mac pro but i really, really don't do a lot of work with my laptop and have still been quite unhappy despite putting a full 8 GB in this machine about a year or a year and a half into buying it.
is there a way to make an intelligent decision on where to spend my money on a new machine without being totally paranoid and thinking i have to buy the top of the line 15" with respect to all of the above options (and spending 3K on a machine i don't use very intensively)? i mean, i may go to a conference once every two years and want to work in CAD in parallels but other than that i am almost strictly on the Mac Pro for anything moderately intense.
fwiw, i would like to go with the retina display as it is the most current technology.
    TIA

Hardware does fail occasionally, but part of why I would take mine to an Apple Store would be for an opinion on whether the problem was hareware or software. Since it has been less than a year since your bought your MBP-R, it is still under warranty, just not eligible for free phone assistance. If you have neither an Apple Store nor a trusted repair facility available to you, that will make it tougher.
Do I understand you to say this only happens after it has been asleep for a longish time? You can keep it from happening by waking it up sooner or by shutting down when you expect to be away for a longer time? I'm not sure what that tells us, but it in interesting.
Do you by any chance have a bootable copy of your system on an external disk? Preferrably one that was made before you started experiencing the symptoms. If so, does the MBP-R present the same symptoms when booted from that copy?
