Which Oracle ADF Essentials Files To Deploy

I am using ONLY the ADF-Faces  from ADF-Essentials. Could someone tell me which of the following jars below, I need to add to my ear deployment. They are an overkill in comparison to others such as trinidad, primefaces, richfaces, icefaces, etc. Please be specific. Thanks.

Hi,
plain ADF Faces should be
adf-faces-api-1013.jar
adf-faces-impl-1013
Just the components. However, if there is more in your project properties than ADF Faces, others may be required too (e.g. Task Flow libraries if you use ADF Page Flow). If you only use ADF Faces from faces-config.xml for navigation then the two should do

    can i install Oracle ADF Essentials 11.1.2.3 on weblogic 10.6 ?
    what the difference between ADF Essentials 11.1.2.3 and Application Development Run time 11.1.1.6 ?
    can i use ADF Essentials 11.1.2.3 instead of Application Development Run time 11.1.1.6 to deploy application (contains many jsf pages with rich faces and many taskflows and BC4J) ??
    i'm using jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 and weblogic 10.6 installed on the Linux server

    Hi,
    JDeveloper 11g R1 (11.2.3) supported as ADF essentials and running on WebLogic 10.3.6 are the same releases. The difference is that a path is needed if you want to deploy the software on WLS 10.3.6. Quoting the release notes:
    +"The ADF Runtime will be installed into a standalone application server by applying an Opatch bundle on top of a 11.1.1.6 version of the Application Developer Runtime environment. In the event that additional patches are needed or desired in addition to the 11.1.2.3.0 patch (for example, if an additional patch is needed for another component in the Application Development Runtime installation), those patches will need to be installed separately.+
    +Important note: The patch is intended to be applied to an Application Developer Runtime installation. Applying the patch to a different installation type (for example, Oracle SOA Suite or Oracle WebCenter) is not supported."+
    Release Notes: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/11gr2update3-1851251.html
    For Glasssfish you don't need to patch the server and only install the ADF runtime libraries - also explained in the Release notes.

    Hi
    I have installed Glassfish3 on CentOS.
    Followed the instructions from https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/deploying_oracle_adf_applications_to.
    But when tried to deploy it failed with following error
    deployment Testing Glassfish-REST-Admin failed
    My JDeveloper Version is 11.1.2.3.0
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Thanks for the reply.
    While trying to do Test Connection from Deployment (Application Server Connection) I am getting the following error
    Testing JSR-160 ... success
    Testing Glassfish-HTTP ... success
    Testing Glassfish-REST-Admin ... failed
    Host returned unexpected response status: 302
    Testing Glassfish-Admin ... skipped
    2 of 4 tests successful.
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0. So Glassfish should support this with ADF essential. I have a very simple page based on VO which is based on a Table. That's it.
    Thanks,

  • 1Z1-554-ENU: Oracle ADF Essentials exam, beta results?

    Hello,
    The results for '1Z1-554-ENU: Oracle Application Development Framework Essentials' where supposed to be made available yesterday, but there is no sign yet.
    I was logging in to my PEARSON VUE account, but there when clicking 'View Results' link I am getting a fat stacktrace of .NET application.
    Does anyone has any input on this?
    Thank you,
    Florin

    Congratulations for those who passed, since this is not an trivial exam. You definitely need practice experience to pass.Thanks!
    I also passed!

    All the Fusion Applications development paid off and I literally just went to the test centre one fine day and passed!

  • How to reduce Oracle ADF Mobile deployed file

    Hi
    I'm creating simple demos with Oracle ADF Mobile and the deployed file is more than 50mb. Is there a way to reduce this size? Maybe remove some unused features llike SQLLite?

    My simple demo IPA files have been around 20MB with the default splashscreens and such, the only time it was bigger was when some files mistakenly got included. You could always load resources on-demand the first time over http and cache them in the app documents. This way you could only download the graphics for the current platform (so if it's a phone, you don't download iPad banners and graphics that your app needs)

  • ADF essentials on Glassfish 4

    Hi,
    I've tried to deploy my Oracle ADF Essentials  11.x based application on a Glassfish 4 app server, but it fails miserably.
    Is it possible to deploy the latest ADF Essentials 12 on a glassfish 4?
    I haven't had the time to try it yet.
    best regards
    Kim

    Well, the certification matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/documentation/1212-cert-1964670.html#Abrams-SupportInformation-Ap…) tells you
    Application Servers
    The following table shows application servers supported by JDeveloper and ADF. Application Server support for JDeveloper is provided for connecting and deploying directly to the server as well as debugging. For ADF, it refers to servers that ADF applications can be deployed to.
    Application Server
    JDeveloper
    ADF
    Oracle Fusion Middleware (WLS)
    10.3.5+, 12.1.2
    12.1.2
    GlassFish
    3.1+
    3.1 (ADF Essentials)
    WebSphere
    8.x
    JBoss
    5
    Tomcat
    7
    Oracle Cloud
    13.1
    So I say: yes you can.

  • Using the Oracle ADF Data Visualization Components in a standard JSF enviro

    Hi,
    I have asked this question on the JDeveloper and ADF forum, haven't gotten a response yet:
    Using the Data Visualization Components from ADF in a JBoss 7.1.1
    .. but I would like to ask the question here as well if anyone have used the data visualization components from Oracle ADF Essentials .. the free version ... using the graph components in general, but I am looking at specifically using the gantt chart component in particular ... in a standard JSF environment ( e.g. Tomcat + Mojarra, or JBoss with the built-in Mojarra implementation ) ??
    I know there are other JSF charting components out there ...like the ones from PrimeFaces, but the gantt chart from ADF looks more ... well .. professional.

    People are not prone to answer questions that are not really a problem. You want to know something about a free product, install it and see for yourself. In any case spreading your question around is not going to help you, the people who know about ADF are still going to be looking in the ADF forum. If you don't get an answer there, what chance do you think you have that you'll get one here where it is off-topic?
    I'll close with a word of advice: you generally pay for quality. If you want professional looking charts, you'll probably have to look at commercial products.

  • ADF Essentials Fusion Web Application(ADF) Templates missing

    I have installed JDeveloper 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.3.0), in order to evaluate development with ADF Essentials.
    The tutorial ( Developing with Oracle ADF Essentials) http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_55/jdtut_11r2_55_1.html shows how to start
    a new Fusion Web Application(ADF) project.
    But this option is missing !!!
    What am I missing ?

    Combining Timo's and Shay's answers
    I reproduced successfully the following
    If Java EE role is selected when entering JDeveloper first time after installation of JDeveloper then
    even if studio developer role is selected from the tools menu, there
    is no way to get ADF Fusion development functionality as ADF Business *, ADF Model Business * features, ADF application templates, are missing.
    The only valid solution is to uninstall JDeveloper and install it again ( there is no need to use generic installer) and select
    studio developer the first time after installation.
    It looks like ADF functionality is registered only at initial JDeveloper startup with developer role selected.
    Cheers

  • Oracle net config files

    hello to everyone,
    Which oracle networking configuration files are optional and which are compulsory on the client side, and the same thing, which files are optional or compulsory on the server side?
    For example, is sqlnet.ora optional on the server side?
    If this makes difference regarding the Oracle version, then it's about 9i and 10g.
    Many thnx for any input.
    Cheers,
    Hiruya

    listener.ora is must in server
    tnsnames.ora is must in client and in server (if multiple servers are integrated through database by application)
    sqlnet.ora is optional in both client and server (is must if domain naming is used)

  • Access a dll file for an oracle adf app deployed on weblogic on linux box

    Hi:
    My department is trying to move an oracle adf application from oracle application server to weblogic 10.3 application server. After trying for a few weeks, everything looks fine except that the application is not able to access a dll file. For this adf application we use a dll file which is a C program to allow us to grab ip address and mac address for every user's computer for security reason. On our oracle application server on a linux box, everything is fine and the application is able to use access the dll fine. Technically, it is how the dll work. In our login.jspx, we declare a object:
    <OBJECT id="objMacAddr" height="0" width="0" classid="CLSID:D69161F0-C2BB-4212-9B67-62B908A07726" codebase="RMacAddress.dll#Version=1,0,0,1">
    when the user access our web application, the browser grab the dll file from the server while loading the page and a java script function in the page uses the dll file to grab the ip address and mac address for user's computer.
    It works on oracle application server. However, it does not work on Weblogic 10.3 server. Does anyone have similar experience? We have been told by oracle support that Weblogic 10.3 server does not recognize the dll file at all. One thing I don't understand is that both our oracle application and weblogic 10.3 are on linux box. Why dll works on oralce application server but not on weblogic 10.3 server? This issue has bothered us for quite a few weeks already. I just hope that anyone on this forum gives us some kind of hint or direction.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    Also,
    I checked the "monitoring" window of my datasource on weblogic server and saw that there are no failed database connections. So, the problem of a broken database connectivity can be ruled out.

  • Graphs with ADF Essentials 12.1.2.0 deployed on Glassfish 3.1.2 Open Source not displaying

    Hi,
    I have three simple Bar Graphs which developed using JDeveloper 12c. When I deployed in Glassfish Server 3.1.2 open source edition with ADF essentials 12.1.2.0 they are not displayed. Other data bound pages are working fine. Now if I deploy them in the integrated weblogic server then they are correctly displayed.
    As per the oracle documentation DVT components are included in ADF Essentials.

  • Oracle ADF task flow setup failing- deployment issue

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing issue while deploying the ADF taskflow to Oracle webcenter portal/application server.
    We will need your help to get any pointers from your Oracle network to help resolve.
    Details of issue are as below.
    Please help ASAP.
    Problem Statement: Issue in the ADF taskflow while it is deployed on Oracle Webcenter Portal/Application server (the ADF taskflow is fetching data from PL/SQL procedure using table/record objects as OUT parameter, which is running fine in Jdeveloper).
    Problem Description:
    From ADF task flow we are invoking a PL/SQL procedure, which is returning a PL/SQL objects as an OUT parameter, some of these objects are of TABLE TYPE and one of RECORD TYPE. We are invoking this oracle procedure and fetching the object using jdbc. The object to which we are mapping this PL/SQL object is a custom java type object. We are using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and Oracle ADF for this and we are able to successfully fetch the object using the code snippet #1 attached below.
    However, when we deploying the same code, i.e. the above ADF task flow in the Webcenter Portal server 11.1.1.4, inside the Webcenter portal application, it doesn’t work and give the below error, error snippet #2 below.
    Options tried: Initially we were using oracle.sql.STRUCT to handle the PL/SQL object, we tried changing this to weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Struct and also java.sql.Struct, however we are still getting same error.
    The objective is to get the data from PL/SQL procedure in objects (record, table) as OUT parameters in ADF taskflow deployed on Oracle webcenter portal/application server.
    ******Code Snippet #1**************************
    txn = getDBTransaction();
    Connection con =
    ((DBTransactionImpl) txn).getPersistManagerConnection();
    st = (OracleCallableStatement) con.prepareCall(callfetchOA);
    st.setString(1, so_number);
    st.setString(2,
    generate_pdf); //generate_pdf should be passed as N in case of FetchOA and Y in case of Generate PDF
    st.setString(3, so_line_id);
    st.registerOutParameter(4, OracleTypes.STRUCT, headerTrxObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(5, OracleTypes.ARRAY, lineTrxTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(6, OracleTypes.ARRAY, fetchFeeLineTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(7, OracleTypes.ARRAY, fetchAdSizeTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(8, OracleTypes.ARRAY, fetchChannelTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(9, OracleTypes.ARRAY, fetchMarketTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(10, OracleTypes.ARRAY, slaTypeObj);
    st.registerOutParameter(11, OracleTypes.NUMBER);
    st.registerOutParameter(12, OracleTypes.VARCHAR);
    st.execute();
    Object[] header = st.getSTRUCT(4).getAttributes();

    Maybe this can help you: http://mike.hostetlerhome.com/2007/02/12/weblogic-oracle-and-blobs-oh-my/
    It shows how to obtain a vendor object from the weblogic wrapped instance.
    From the blog
    weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Blob cast1 = (weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Blob) o;
    BLOB myblob = (BLOB) cast1.getVendorObj();
