OS.Please give me  a solution for this problem.

you cannot install a x64 software on a 32 bit OS.
Download SQL 2012 express x86 advanced edition or Download SQL 2014 express x86 advanced edition
ENU\x86\SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe

Ashwin this is not correct :). You can install standalone 32 bit SQL Server on 64 bit OS. This is not supported for cluster setup. This environment is specifically called WOW64. As per
Books online doc
WOW64 Support:
WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) is a feature of 64-bit editions of Windows that enables 32-bit applications to run natively in 32-bit mode. Applications function in 32-bit mode, even though the underlying operating system is a 64-bit operating system.
On a supported 64-bit operating system, SQL Server 32-bit edition can be installed to the WOW64 32-bit subsystem of a 64-bit server. WOW64 is supported only for stand-alone instances of SQL Server. WOW64 is not supported for SQL Server failover cluster installations.
For SQL Server 64-bit edition installations on supported 64-bit operating systems, Management Tools are supported in WOW64. For more information about supported operating systems, select an edition of SQL Server 2014 from the sections below.
Yona,
As suggested you should install 64 bit version of SQL Server on 64 bit machine

    You should use
SQL Server 2014 Express with Tools 64 Bit
This package contains the core SQL Server database along with the tools to manage SQL Server instances including SQL Server Express, LocalDB, and SQL Azure. If you need Reporting Services or Full text search, use SQL Server Express with Advanced Services.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/Products/sql-server-editions/sql-server-express.aspx
Because it has everything you need.
Also check out Azure SQL Database http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/sql-database/, which you can also use for production and you don't have to run a SQL Server VM.

Which version of sql server 2012 or 2014 is best for sharepoint 2013.. Any excellent comparision available please let me know..i mean enterprise version BI version or standard version.. i just need a detailed comparison if available please thank you

As of right this very second, SQL Server 2014 is not supported. SharePoint 2013 supports:
    One of the following:
The 64-bit edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
The 64-bit edition of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Hardware and software requirements for SharePoint 2013
Edit: I may be mistaken. It looks like the April 2014 CU adds support for SQL Server 2014. If this is the case generally going with the latest SQL Edition provides you with the latest SQL functionality. I'm not aware of any SharePoint features that would
make use of functionality that is new to SQL Server 2014 but this could change with a future service pack.

  • Which version of SQL Server 2014 should I be using?

    Hello,
I'm writing a Visual Basic.NET application for a school network. I am new to databases and made the assumption that I need Microsoft SQL Server (I've gone for the express edition). My plan is to run a copy on the school's server and connect to it through
several instances of my program, each on their own computer on the school network. The server is 64bit so I know I should be getting the 64bit edition. However, I'm not sure whether I should choose LocalDB, Express, Express with Tools, Management Studio Express
or any of the other versions.
    Which one should I choose?

    Hi 08robertsj,
Based on your description, you can install SQL Server 2014 Express with Tools (SQLEXPRWT _x64_ENU.exe)
or SQL Server 2014 Express with Advanced Services (SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe) on the 64-bit server.
SQLEXPRWT _x64_ENU.exe package contains everything needed to install and configure SQL Server as a database server including the full version of SQL Server 2014 Management Studio. SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe package is a larger download than “with Tools,” as it
also includes both Full Text Search and Reporting Services.
LocalDB is meant for developers, with it you can simply create and work with databases from code. Express edition includes the SQL Server database engine only. SQL Server Management Studio Express doesn’t not contain the database, but only the tools to manage
    SQL Server instances.
For more details about the difference between Express editions, please review the following link.

  • SQL Server 2012 Express Install on Windows 7 SP1 Embedded not using virtual account?

    Hi there,
I did a default installation of SQL Server 2012 Express on Windows 7 embedded Standard SP1.
When I look at the SQLSERVER service credential it is configured to run under "NETWORK SERVICE" instead of the virtual account "NT SERVICE\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS".
This is different from SQL 2012 Express installation on a non-embedded Windows 7.
    Why is this difference?
Secondly, because of this, I am unable to take a backup of databases to any folder other than the default SQL folder.

    Hi Chandrasekaran,
As Local Service account, the Network Service account and high privileged Local System account could be used by many services.
It becomes harder to track which service is actually accessing resources and performing actions, because all the services are using the one Network Service account or other account.
In Windows7 and Windows Server 2008R2, it introduces a new type of account called a virtual account, which emulates creating many unique instances of the Network Service account, so each service runs with its own instance of the Network Service account.
For example, when you install SQL 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 and later you’ll see the services run with virtual service accounts named like:
    in the format NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>.
According to your description, when the SQLSERVER service was run under “NETWORK SERVICE”, you only back up database to the default SQL folder. It may be caused by the NETWORK SERVICE account has limited local privileges, just accesses network
resource with the computer credential. I recommend you change the account to Local System account, by default, which has full permissions on your computer.
For more information about SQL Server service account and virtual account, you can review the following articles.

  • Which version of PhotoShop Elements should I buy for Windows Vista Home Premium and from what source?

First time buying PhotoShop.  I need it for a project I'm involved with at my school, but I can't download Creative Cloud or PhotoShop Elements 13 because Vista is not supported by Adobe.  However, I find it easier to find a version more fit for my computer rather than upgrade it (I'll just be brief, it's not convenient AT THIS TIME for me to attempt to upgrade my PC, even if many believe it'd be better for me).
I was just planning on looking on Amazon for PhotoShop Elements PC boxes available and going with whatever version 11 or below that was at a good price.  Is this a good way to go or is there something special about purchasing CD's to download I need to be aware of?  Is buying from a source like Amazon rather than straight from Adobe putting me at risk for a phony version of PhotoShop Elements (though I was looking to buy a "new" box to avoid this if I can find some)?
I'm having trouble finding WHERE Adobe sells its products from its own website rather than Creative Cloud right now.  A link would very much be appreciated if such a place exists.  Thank you.

You can download a free trial version for PSE 10, 11 or 12 from this link:
    <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
You can use this trial version for 30 days after which you will need to buy a boxed version from Amazon and use the serial number from the box to activate your trial version.
If, however, you complete your project in the next 30 days then you don't need to buy anything.  Money saved for something else.
    Good luck.

  • SQL Server with BIDS install

Which version of SQL Server with BIDS is recommended for a starter? I keep on running in various problems when installing and uninstalling.

SQL Server 2014 is the latest SQL version and from SQL 2012, BIDS is replaced with SSDT(sql server data tools). refer: https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/cc645993.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Express edition does not have this. but SQL 2014 'Express with advanced services' edition has it. i do not think  full functionality is available though.
if you only want BIDS, you can install SQL 2008R2 express with advanced services edition. google for the link
this link is for SQL 2008 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1842
if this is for learning purpose, i would recommend installing sql 2014 enterprise evaluation edition. that way you can get full exposure to SQL product suite
    Hope it Helps!!

  • What version of SQL Server Management Studio do I need?

I need to install SQL Server Management Studio on my windows 8.1 PRO 64-bit pc to manage SQL server 2008 R2. do I download the 2014 or 2012  or 2008 version?

    Hello,
Install the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) of the same version of SQL Server you have installed.
If you modify maintenance plans using a newer version of SSMS, you then cannot use a lower version of SSMS to modify/change it again.
    Hope this helps.

  • SP1 to R2 Upgrade - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database

    Hello,
Am trying to upgrade a SCOM SP1 environment to SCOM R2( 3 MGT servers, 1 GW and 2 Web console boxes )
    The prerequisites are failing and it is stating the following ;
Operational Database SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database
Data Warehouse  SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the data warehouse
The SQL servers are running SQL 2012 SP1 64 Enterprise, which is compatible.
All other pre-upgrade tasks have been done.
    Help appreciated!

I'm having the exact same issue, I believe. I think that Tubble has problem with SCOM 2012. Not 2007.
I've checked the compatibility list for both SCOM 2012 SP1 and R2. All newer Windows Server and SQL versions are supported. We're running the SQL 2012 SP1 x64 Standard edition on a Windows Server 2012 Standard.
I even tried to move the database from SQL 2012 to an older SQL 2008 R2, but that's not supported either. Only upgrading. Not downgrading.
So, I started checking the opsMgrSetupWizard.log file for clues. And the error message was there as well. But the reason why it says not supported is that it can't get the info about the OS version, so I guess it assumes the OS version is to low. The RPC
    service can not be reached.

So, in our case this was just a FW that was blocking some high ports between management server and SQL. I believe TCP port 135 also needs to be open.
Let's hope this fixes your issue as well, Tubble.
    Have a great day!

  • Which Versions of SQL are compatible with windows 2003 server?

I just purchased SQL 2014 standard and tried to install on my Windows 2003 standard R2 VM server.  It will not install and now I'm finding some places on the internet that say it's not compatible????
    Is this true?
And if so what version of SQL can I install on my windows 2003 standard R2 VM server???

    Hello,
You can install SQL Server 2008 R2 or earlier versions of SQL Server only on a Windows Server 2003 R2 computer.
SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 can be installed on Windows Server 2003 R2 if you apply SP2 for Windows Server 2003 R2.
Meanwhile SQL Server 2005 requires Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 1.
SQL Server 2000 can be installed on Windows Server 2003 R2 with no service pack.
    Hope this helps.
