While performing Clnt export SQL error -964 accessing SWWLOGHIST: SQL0964C

Question

Hi Experts
while performing client import to QAS in the logs of the request we get
"SQL error -964 accessing SWWLOGHIST: SQL0964C  The transaction log for the database is"
When we go and check in sm21 below is the message.
"SQL0964C The transaction log for the database is ful"
But i have 40 % for free log space..
Could you please suggest how to increase the transaction log space.

Ravi,
The database is consuming all the LOG space while performing this activity. Since you mentioned that 40% of your log_dir is empty, it means that you are most likely under utilizing your available log space. In order to utilize it better, check the total log_dir available and distribute it among your primary + secondary logs so as to utilize about 90% of the space.
If I were to have 100GB in my log_dir, this is how we would split it up.
LOGFILSIZ = 131072 ( X 4K PAGES = 512MB)
LOGPRIMARY = 100
LOGSECOND = 80
This would use up about 90 GB of the log_dir and leave 10GB for situations where your archive log is lagging. In short, you need to look at the total log_dir space available in your environment and choose appropriate values for logfilsize, logprimary and logsecond so as to use 90% of that space.
