While restoring my iPod touch 4G (iOS 6.1.2), after the "extracting software" step, iTunes says that it cant connect to iPod server. Now my iPod is in recovery mode and I can't do anything. Please Help.

I have Windows 7 installed with the LATEST iTunes software.
I get this message while restoring and now my iPod is in restore mode. When I try to restore it fails after this message pops up. Please tell me a fix to it.
1) I've checked my internet connection. All the sites work perfectly.
2) I've tried it after disabling the windows firewall as well as my antivirus.
3) I've also tried changes with the "hosts" file in Windows>System32>Driveres>etc.
NO HELP WHATSOEVER.
PLEASE HELP.

Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- Anything else here
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
