  • Creating a hyperlink on an image ruins my whole layout!?

    Hi guys,
I have been using Dreamweaver at High School for a while, but
now am using it at university and it is version CS3.
I am not expert at websites, and am used to creating a site
in fireworks or photoshop (now), then slicing and importing into
dreamweaver. I have done this with my latest site but I am having
some wierd problems that I have never had before.
Here is how my page looks without my image (enter button)
inked to my main page (main.html)
    <a href="
    http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/?action=view&current=site_before.jpg"
    target="_blank"><img src="
    http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/site_before.jpg"
    border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Ok now when I link it (I have tried by dragging the
crosshairs next ot the box, and the manual method of typing it in),
this happens and the whole page looks screwed up.
    <a href="
    http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/?action=view&current=site_after.jpg"
    target="_blank"><img src="
    http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh129/marceta/site_after.jpg"
    border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
This is really annoying as it happens in every page no matter
what I link. How do I fix it? It is almost as if the a href tag
increases the size of the image, or adds an invisible border that I
can not get rid of. I am sure that anyone with half a brain on
web-dev will easily be able to tell me the setting to fix this. I
dont not want to resort to using image maps.
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Peter Marceta
\EDIT: sorry about the images...I tried bbcode tags [IMG] but
then realized they wouldnt work, but I couldnt get the HTML to work
either. Just clike the links and it should work.

Such a generic rule could well destroy a page's layout.
    Getting rid of
borders around image links should be done with a scalpel, not
    a machete....

    Hello!
The layout management in OSMF prior to 1.6 sprint 3 was somehow inconsistant in composite elements.
That(I guess) is a problem of layout measurement.
Our player relies on osmf layouting greatly so I have posted a lot here already.
May be it can help you:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/837062
This topic contains referencies to other and to jira:
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FM-1174
There is a "duct tape" proxy attached to jira bug it may help you if you put your composition to that proxy BEFORE settting it to media player.
Since 1.6 sprint 3 the whole layout thing has changed and has become consistent - it does not work as expected at all :O)
But as soon as you are on 1.0 the duct tape proxy may help
    Best regards!

  • Single Page Layout

Hey, well I've been using pages for a little while, while it's a great program and I love the whole layout tab thingy I've been having a slight problem with one of my projects. I need to insert a few landscape pages into a project that uses facing pages but when I go to the inspector and choose the landscape option it changes the whole project instead of the single page selected. Any help would be much apriciated.
Anyways, thanks in advance for any help given.
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

need to insert a few landscape pages into a project that uses facing pages
That's not going to happen. Leave the pages in portrait orientation, but insert a text frame for your intended text, and rotate it 90º; same for your images on that page. The alternative is to build your landscape pages in a separate document, then combine them with the main document after the pages are printed.

  • Layouts looking 'right' in Dreamweaver

Hi all, I seem to have this reoccurring problem, when I
design layouts, I get them the way I want they look great in
IE/Firefox but when working on them in Dreamweaver the layout looks
messy and sometimes quite hard to work with.... I attach my CSS and
XHTML, just to make sure i'm not designing it wrong...
Thanks for any help in advance

The most common cause for this is the use of negative
    margins, nested
floats, or float clearing methods that aren't supported by
    DW's design view
(e.g., 'overflow:hidden', or those using the content style).

  • Trouble with Firefox - Embedded .flv screws up layout

The following site was created as a photoshop .html. I created a blank box in the middle of the page that I later used Dreamweaver CS4 to remove the dummy 380x286 .jpeg and insert my 380x286 .flv in the empty table. Renders great in Safari and IE, but when viewed in Firefox, extra spaces are inserted around the page, throwing off the whole layout. Does anyone have any suggestions???
This is a problem page: http://debraoppenheim.com/test/reel.html (notice the black spaces under "debra oppenheim" in the upper left)
This is a page that's fine (no embedded .flv): http://debraoppenheim.com/test/home.html

  • Why does my layout keep changing when I make simple changes?

I have made minor changes like changing the font size of a text style and my whole layout spreads all over the place when I publish it. I've tried to add a small section of copy and then all the text on that page squeezes into the first column of my layout. I spend hours tweaking just to add a small amount of text to one page of my website. I published the whole site to make sure all the appropriate was updated. I didn't have this problem a month ago when I published the site live the first time. Did one of the updates cause this or what?
    Thanks for your help!

  • JPEG Image Stretches Web Layout

Hi, I'm Using Dreamweaver 8 And whenwhenever I Go to The "Insert" And Try to Put a Image into My Table, It stretches the Whole Layout Out. You can view it at
    Http://www.deepthegr8est.com/discography.html
I also don't Know Why You Have to Include .Html at The End of the Website instead of Just Putting The Link.
I Designed The Web Layout And Slicesd The Images in Photoshop..

I Designed The Web Layout And Sliced The Images in Photoshop..
Mistake #1.  Don't use graphic apps to generate your HTML code.  The code is far too rigid and unstable for use in real web sites.  Use graphics apps for images only.  Use Dreamweaver to build your HTML and CSS code.
Start with one of the pre-built CSS Layouts in DW.
Go to File > New > Blank page > HTML.
Choose a layout from the 3rd panel and hit Create.
    SaveAs index.html (your home page).
    Insert images into your HTML.
Use CSS panels to add backgrounds and other styles to your content.
    Save and preview in browsers.

  • BPS Layouts color changes after migration to BI 7

    Hello everybody
We upgraded to BI 7 and almost all our BPS layouts have adopted funky colors. They can not be changed either.
Example: Header and Display lines are now pink and results line are bright yellow.
    Anyone experienced this ?
    Thank you.

    Hello Alkan
I opened a message at SAP and here is their answer but I have not had time to come back to this yet. It may or may not solve the problem.
The problem can be that, your master template is corrupt. Please read
the notes 574240, 428092. Get the master template and replace it
with the signed one as explained in the notes, this should resolve your
    issue.
And the first meesage reply from SAP prior to the above one:
    Steps :
Goto to the Third screen of the layout in change mode.
    Select the whole layout.
    Select the tab 'Format'.
Under format => option 'cells' => pattern.
In pattern, u can change the color here, or u can select no color and
keep the general format for layout display.
For more details, i would ask you to refer to the online documentation
for SEM-BPS -> Manual planning -> Planning layout -> Formatting the
    planning layout.

  • Database layout crashes appleworks

good morning. I am using AW 6.2.9 on an iBook G4 w/ OS 10.4.11.
In one of my databases, one layout crashes the program whenever I try to view it in layout mode. I can see in it Browse, and I can see every other layout in both browse and layout. Obviously, it worked at when I first created the layout, so I'm not sure what happened. I've tried creating a new duplicate layout, but it crashes too (but not a new blank one). So other than recreating the whole layout from scratch, can anyone advise why this might be happening and how it can be resolved. Thanks!

Have you added any objects to the layout? The layout editing mode is actually a draw environment & it's possible an added object is corrupt. I don't know how you would be able to delete objects if you can't view it, so I think you might have to recreate it. One thing to try, before going through that, is to save the database as an AppleWorks 5 document & then open this AppleWorks 5 document in AppleWorks 6. There is the slight possibility that this will strip the corruption. You do not need to have AppleWorks 5 to do this.

  • Photoshop layout in Dreamweaver

Hello, I've made a web layout in Photoshop, which I then have
gotten into Dreamweaver. That works perfectly, but its when I want
to add text I got the problems. When I writes this text, alot of
    slices/imgaes jumping to the right.
So then I was thinking of making the whole layout aligned as
bottom, so I can write my text on the layout images.
So my question is how to do that? And is that the best way of
    solvng this problem?
    Thanks!

  • 2 layouts for one screen

    Hello everybody,
I'm working with RF screens, assigning phisical screens to the standard logical screens. For one of the screens, I have to show two completely different layouts depending on the value of a couple of fields. Since it's related to RF, the size is 8x40 and any of the layouts would occupy the whole screen.
Is there any way for me to define the two whole layouts, and show one or the other depending on the value of a field?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Jose.

I've found the solution. It would be just to create two subscreens with the different layouts and create the main screen as a subscreen container. Then, on the main screen PBO call one of the subscreens or the other.

  • Photoshop for brochure layout?

    Hello,
I'm quite familiar with photoshop, but haven't used InDesign quite as much. I know how to do the basics in it, but I find that it's much easier to just to the whole layout in Photoshop. Is it ok to export a photoshop eps out of photoshop and run it through distiller for the final piece? Or what I've also been doing is just placing the .psd file in InDesign and using that to print/export.
I'm modifying so many things in Photoshop that it would be much more difficult to do that in InDesign such as editing photos, creating masks for photos etc dn then adding text in there. Would it be best to do the initial layout in photoshop and rebuild it in InDesign to keep as many things vector as possible? Thanks,

What would be the 'correct' way of doing it from the start while having to do alot of image editing throughout the layout process?
The correct way would be whatever you/your customer accepts with regard to effort, expenditure and the final product’s quality, I guess.
Doing the whole thing in Photoshop has drawbacks.
For example there seems to be no provision to set the bleed- and trim-boxes in Photoshop and they are requirements for PDF-X, so one would have to set them in Acrobat or some layout application.
Neither can one create multi-page PDFs from Photoshop CS5 directly anymore.
And large amounts of type might be handled considerably more comfortable in Indesign and Illustrator.
Furthermore Indesign and Illustrator offer advantages when it comes to combining external files, such as logos, across multiple documents, even though Photoshop’s Smart Objects can be utilized to emulate that to some degree.

  • How to Suprass a report layout when there is no data

    Hi Community,
I have a Sql Query which Gives me the list of pre-treatments which doesn't have the corresponding post treatment
This query sometimes doesn't not return any rows
At that time is there a way that i can suprass the the whole layout from printing on the report
i am using oracle 6i Reports
    Please help me out!!!!

Create a summary column (lets say "CS_TotalRecords") at report level, and set the following properties:
    Function: Count
Source: column which can not be null (if report displays some data)
    Reset At: Report
Create a format trigger at most outer frame (the frame you want to hide and all object within that), and write following code:
    BEGIN
    IF NVL(:CS_TotalRecords,0) = 0 THEN
    RETURN (FALSE);
    END IF;
    RETURN (TRUE);
    END;
    Hope this helps.
