Why are my Organization users seen as external.
My Organization recently started using Lync as net meeting and IM client software. When scheduling a Lync meeting we tried to only allow selected people as presenters but when we tried to add members of our organization to the presenters list we received
the following message; "External invitees and distribution lists can't be added as presenters with this option, However, you can give presenter permission to individuals when you're in the meeting." Could this be because our Lync is online
but our Exchange is hybrid?

If i am the only user and owner of my macbook, then why are there 78 users in the directory editor?
Hi guys just wanted to know little bit about the open directory as my MacBook Pro has been playing up on and off at least a couple of years. I have been advised by Apple over the phone or as well as over the genius bar in trying to get my mac to behave. This normally solves whatever problem that has been happening at the time. "Great, job done!"... Not so much, as another problem eventually shows it's ugly pixelated face again and then we end up going round the Infinite loop ride one more time... And this ride ain't always free! I have forked out about £600 on it so far and it wasn't cheap in the beginning! Anyway I have just got off the ride and before I get punched by a plyst to get back on I would rather learn about the things I don't understand so hopefully I can resolve the matter without hair loss. So my main question so far is why are there 78 user names (most of which are computer related names, not all) are found in Directory Utility? I do not play games on my Mac it is mainly used for media such as iPhoto, iTunes, pages, mail and surfing the net. So which out these 78 users do I select as a server?

None. It's normal. Make no modifications.
It's not clear what trouble you are experiencing, or if anything is wrong at all. If your Mac is not behaving as you expect it should, describe what's wrong in as much detail as possible.

OR IS IT JUST LAZYINESS THAT YOU CHANGE THE DOLLAR SIGN FOR THE POUND?it obviously doesn't, but then again some people or organisation only care about price when it comes to purchasing their laptops, and it is hard to justify making a special model for a selected few.
Sure everything can be done if there is a market for it, but Lenovo won't know how large the market is before hand, as such they are hedging a bet by not moving with the market (which Lenovo have done on many occasions). I guess the finanical return is not the worth the risk for Lenovo to keep the 4:3 or 16:10 screens.
But this debate has been going back and forth for a long time, so no point bringing it up again and again.

Why are some form users stalling on upload or getting an error?
Some of my form users are reporting the following issues...
"I've tried several times to submit the form below to you per your request, but I either get an error message - or the system spins in upload mode for over an hour."

Also, can you ask form users:
- clear browser cache and try to submit again
- try to use different browser to see if the problem browser specific
Please let me know if the above steps helped or not. If you still the problem, can you provide screenshot of the error.
I don't think that Flash would matter in this case, we only use Flash on authoring side (to design forms). On fillable side (during sumbit) we use HTML.

Why are new directory users unable to login to iChat/jabberd?
I have a couple of new users I've added to our directory recently. They are unable to connect to our internal jabber (iChat) server. Users that have connected previously are experiencing no difficulty.
A quick overview of the layout of the system: two XServes, one is OD primary (aspen) the other is OD replica and iChat server (vail). I've modded some config files (long ago) to allow user IDs for jabber to be [email protected] instead of [email protected] It works quite nicely.
Excerpt from the logs shows a failed login attempt followed by a successful login attempt. Successful logins are happening from Messages (beta), iChat under Snow Leopard, and Pidgin under windows. Failing logins are all from iChat under Snow Leopard. Please ask questions, I'm happy to add any other pertinent data!

Snow Leopard is indeed listed twice. It is listed once as being successful as our existing users are able to login to the jabber service from there. It is also listed as being the sole operating system from which logins are failing as our new directory users are only using that platform.
Only one machine is using Lion and that's the one using the Messages Beta and that's working just fine. I provided all of the client information, but I don't believe it's truly relevant. I'm pretty sure that the issue is on the server side. ...I just have NO idea what the problem is! -
HT4796 why are all the files on my external harddrive showing as read only?
I have a harddrive (Seagate) that I have used with my PC to store files. When I plug it into my Mac, all the files are read only. How do I fix that?
Most likely, the drive is formatted NTFS, which OS X can only read natively.
If you don't want to reformat the disk into something you can use on both, try exFAT.
If you want to reformat it only for a Mac, use Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Either way you'd have to move the files off the drive, format, then reload them
There are several programs which will allow you to write to NTFS, Paragon, Tuxera, and NTFS-3G (free). -
Why are my jpeg attachments seen as thumbnails by recipients?
I use Mavericks but I don't know if this is a problem specific to Mavericks or not.
I attach jpegs to my Apple Mail emails at the size I want (small, medium large depending on my purpose but they are usually 5x7 jpegs). I usually send emails from my laptop and view them in icon view before sending. However, I have had a number of folks, mostly those who read their mail on the iPad, tell me that all they received is a thumbnail that is tiny, difficult to see, and can't be further manipulated. Is there something else I (or they) need to do in order to ensure that they can see what was intended?

JThe jpegs I am sending are 5x7 at 300 dpi and on the order of 1 Mb when I send them based on the jpeg quality.
In the Mail email window select Actual Size in the Image Size menu. -
I have 100's of CDs that I have downloaded to my itunes library and they are in the library playable but they do not show up in the C drive under the iTunes Music folder under users. Why are they in the libary and not in the itunes music folder. Win 7 OS. When I look in the library under the get info screen it says they are in the folder itunes music, under the c: drive but when I actually go to that folder to look for them they are not there....HELP!

Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.

We are running ISE 1.3 tied to AD with WLC 7.6.130.0. Our ISE has a GoDaddy (none wildcard) certificate loaded for https and EAP. We are just running PEAP. We have a mix of IOS, Android, and Windows 7/8 devices. IOS and Android devices can self create a wireless profile and after entering credentials can connect without issue. Our Windows 7/8 devices, when auto creating a wireless profile are selecting 802.1x machine authentication instead of User authentication or the best option which is machine or user authentication. This is problematic as we do allow for machine authentication but have an authorization rule limiting machine auth to domain controller and ISE connectivity only. This is to allow domain Windows 7/8 devices to have domain connectivity prior to user sign-in but force user auth to get true network connectivity. The problem is why are the Windows devices not auto setting to user authentication (as I think they did when we ran ISE1.2), or the best option which is to allow both types of authentication? I have limited authentication protocols to just EAP CHAP and moved the machine auth profile to the bottom of the list. Neither have helped. I also notice that the Windows 7/8 endpoints have to say allow connectivity several times even though we are using a global and should be trusted certificate authority (probably a separate issue).
Thank you for any help or ideas,When connecting a windows device to the ISE enabled SSID when there is not a saved wireless profile on that machine, it will connect and auto create the profile. In that profile, 802.1x computer authentication option is chosen by windows. That has to be changed to computer or user for the machine to function correctly on the network.
On 1.2, this behavior was different. The Windows device would auto select user authentication by default. At other customer sites, windows devices auto select user authentication. This of course needs to be changed to user or computer in order to support machine auth, but at least the default behavior of user authentication would allow machines to get on the network and functional easily to begin with. -
Job owner are set to users those no longer with the organization

I was reviewing the currently list of job owners in my organization and found a lot of them are set to users or people who have left the organization.
Could anybody advice if there would be any impact of this?

MohanThe jobs may start failing when their AD accounts are removed. If the users have left it is better to change the job owner to a different account.
To ensure such issues wont happen, it is better to create a generic AD account with only necessary permissions and use it dedicately for this purpose.

Why are your Data Plans SO SCREWED UP? You are Unfairly making the average data user Subsidize the Big Data Users. This kind of thing is why I left AT&T and came to Verizon a Decade ago. Their plans sound better now, maybe I should go back.
I currently have 5 phones/lines. 2 Droid MAXX phones, a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone and 2 basic phones (4+ year old Motorola & Samsung). The cost for each line rose considerably and usage fees more than doubled on the 2 basic phones when I upgraded the 3 smartphones at the beginning of this year and Had to Convert from my old Unlimited Family Plan to the Newer Share Everything Plan. My Data Usage varies a lot due to occasional travel which I have little control over. At least you recently began including a $10 deduction on each of the 2 older phones (which I have not updated in order to save money though they need updating). My Sweet Spot on Data would be around 6GB Monthly Data. But that level is not offered. Only 2, 3, 4, 10, or 15 GB plans are offered.
Verizon's Data Plans Offered Are: 2GB-$50/MO = $25/GB * 3GB-$60/MO = $20/GB * 4GB-$70/MO = $17.50/GB * 10GB-$80/MO = $8/GB * 15GB-$100/MO = $6.66/GB * And Overages are Charged at $15 per 1k-1GB.
Offers JUMP From 4GB TO 10GB (There's a 6GB GAP/JUMP - ***) - Why is there NO 6 or 8 GB offering? Because Verizon is Overcharging the Lower Data Users! Seems like All of the Other Cellular companies are Offering Better Deals.
If you can offer something better please let me know, otherwise I may have to consider going back to AT&T or moving to one of the other cellular companies. -
Why are my external drives un-mounting themselves?
Since installing OS Lion, my external G-tech drives have un-mounted themselves at least twice. Anybody got any ideas as to why?
Also, other than powering the external drives down, then re-powering them up again, so iMac can detect them, is there a wat to refresh and detect the drives without power down and up?

Why are deleted user accounts showing up in login window and fast user switching menu?
There are several old user accounts, just test accounts when I was studying for ACSA that I deleted, which continue to show up in the login window and the fast user switcher menu. I deleted them before upgrading to Lion (I think it was before). The accounts do not exsist in the /Users folder, nor even the /Users/Deleated Users folder. Additionally they do not show up in the list of users in System Preferences. Can anyone give some advice on how to remove these "ghost" accounts from the login window and drop down menu?
