Why can't I open itunes after installing Lion?

I do not know what to tell you. iTunes is working fine on my system. What don't you give a little information about your system and when this problem began on your mac.

  • TS3212 I have downloaded iTunes, but every time I click on the link it does not open. Why can I not open iTunes after downloading?

I have deleted old versions and uploaded the new version. Now that I have completed the install, I cannot open iTunes. I double click it on desktop and it shows thinking symbol for one second and doesn't open. I go through the start menu and it does the same thing. Help!! Please.

Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

  • Problem opening iTunes after installing Lion

I just installed lion.  When I try to open iTunes it says it cannot read my library because it was created by a newer version.  It asks me if I wannt to download iTunes.  What should I do to fix this?

Uninstall QuickTime then download the file again and reinstall QuickTime. iTunes needs a functional QuickTime in order to operate properly. I had the same error, and iTunes has been working fine.

    And the processor limitations.
    iPad: RAM - 256MB, Processor - 1 GHz Apple A4
    iPad 2: RAM - 512MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5
    iPad 3: RAM 1024MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5X
Similarily, the iPad 2 did not get Siri and some other features in iOS 6.

  • HT1926 We cannot open itunes after installing it. The licensing agreement comes up and we agree but then nothing happens. Each time we click on the itunes icon, the agreement comes up. We cannot get to itunes at all. I have followed some of the suggestion

We cannot open iTunes after installing it. When we click on the icon the licensing agreement comes up and we click Agree but then nothing happens.  Each time we click the icon the agreement comes up.  We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but we have the exact same problem.

Refer to steps to remove SC files here:

Then proceed to repair your QuickTime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / highlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

  • Time Machine can't find external drive after installing Lion

Time Machine can't find external drive after installing Lion. I have a Laice 1 terabyte external drive that worked fine with Snow Leopard and now no show ... tried connecting it to front port and Mac Pro can't see it. Also lost Office,Quicken, and Final Cut Pro  says: " You can't open application because Power PC apps are no longer supported" this is Not a good surprise!

Does the drive work when just directly connected? If so, have you prepped the drive?
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.

Why can't I open Quark 8 with Lion? How can I de activate Lion?

    Hi David,

Hmmm, I might be a little wrong in my earlier statement.
Yes, QuarkXPress 7.01 (and higher), released August 2006, and QuarkXPress 8.x are both universal binary builds. QuarkXPress 9 is actually Intel-only.
And though v8 and v9 should under Lion, Quark will officially support Lion with QuarkXPress 9.1, a free update to Version 9, scheduled for end of this month.
Version 9.1 will also contain App Studio to export rich designs for the iPad.

    What happens when you try?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

  • Can't load / open itunes after lion install, help

i justed purchased a used mac mini 2.26 ghz intel core 2 duo with 2gb.  the prior owner updated the os Mac OS X Lion vesion 10.7 prior to me buying.  I cannot open Itunes and I have received different error messages upon different attempts.  they range from : Reason: unsafe use of executable path in /a;;ications/ituens.app/contents/macos/ituens with restricted binary" - got this with a 10.3 download of itunes, to "check system to see if itunes is compatible with this version of Mac OS - got that one with 10.5 download.
I have also tried downloading the software under a guest admin as well as a root user as mentioned in other threads, all to no avail.  Am i missing something, has apple come up with a fix, do i need to go buy a full version of the OS and do a reinstall?  very frustrating for my attempt to get a Mac to see how i like them before plunking down 2k on a full blow imac.
    any help would be appreciated.

i notice that when i attempt a download and install and get another error message, when i go to itunes and do a command i (to get to the itunes software summary), it shows the isntall date as July 19, 2011.  apparatnly i am not deleting itunes fully as it seems to go back to the July 19 install when viewing the software.  new to mac and file system, why is this happening? maybe this is part of the problem
