callers cant hear me talk, I restored, updated, everything.. stopped working soon I got it factory unlocked!
if this has happened to anyone what did you do?
and if you took it to Apple and they fixe it, what did they say was wrong with it?

I second the question posed by Rysz....if you have ANYTHING set up at all (a mail account, etc) it will communicate with it's server..whether polling for new mail, syncing notes, etc.
Also, the 4S is designed to be PC Free, so check your General settings tab to make sure it's not checking for Software Updates. Also, are you backing up to iCloud? This will automatically do things in the background. Check the iCloud settings page.
And to ensure no apps are running, double click your home button. When the screen raises up it will show icons of any running apps. Hold your finger on one of them, and they will start to dance with X's on the corners. Tapping the X's closes the app. Close them all, then hold your home button and power button at the same time. Slide to power off, leave it off for a minute, then power back on. This will ensure no apps are running in the background.

sounds like it is more than likely a hardware issue on the device but before calling applecare you could try to do a hard reset(hold the sleep/wake button+home button down together) if that doesnt fix it then try a restore but make sure u have your data backed up before you do.

As the subject header says callers cant hear me! On neither outgoing nor incoming calls. I have only had the phone since Saturday and only started to use it today since my number was ported over! I am getting fed up! Please help! k x

I am not using a headset or any other type of device. I have tried using voice memo and (if im using it properly - pressing record button and speaking, then replaying) then it is not working or doesnt seem to be recording my voice anyway! Think I am going to have to take it back to the shop tomorrow unless anyone has any other ideas?! x

After Firefox upgrades, I hear people talking when I go to one website only. This is the second time this has happened..

This was my original problem--
Every time I go to the obituary page, I start hearing talking and then firefox freezes. Why? This has only started happening recently.
I can look at everything on this website without a problem until I go to the obit page. I cannot even get halfway down when I start hearing the talking and then Firefox stops responding. When I close it and reopen it, I can sometimes change the number of obits viewed per page from 10 to 25 and I can then see them. Today, it kept freezing, so I had to use Safari. This only happens on the obit page on this one web site. The web site is http://www.news-record.com/. I have no other problems with Firefox and really like it very much. I am wondering if this has starting happening since the last Firefox update. Right now I have version 3.6.24. Any help you might be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. I'm having sync issues too since I've updated to 11.0.4. My ipod 160 will no longer sync properly or will hang when attempting to sync yet my 4th gen touch doesn't have any problems. I am thinking about uninstalling it and rolling back to an older version of itunes.

Well its defintiely nothing that Apple can activate to fix this. They would be able to troubleshoot with you though. This may be able to be resolved if its something software related.

Can't hear myself talk - No mic playback - HS 1000 headset

I have a Creative Fatal1ty HS-1000 USB headset and I can not hear myself talk into the microphone. I have emailed tech support for the third time and they keep referring me to their help articles on the website but it doesn't help.
I have no option in the windows volume control to turn up or un-mute the mictophone in playback control.

I have the same exact problem. I also have XP.
I found the mic volume slider, it's the "Volume" button in the voice recording section. I have it turned all the way up, but still get nothing.
I installed all the latest drivers, Control Consoles, etc etc.
I was pretty much ready to give up.
Update: The microphone can be removed. It pulls straight out. That means, it may not have proper contact.
That was the case for me. I put it back in, and must've gotten it just right, because now it works. I guess the contacts are a bit touchy.
Anyway, If you're out there and getting nothing from the mic test, this may be your problem.
