Why do bookmarks appear in my history box, after I have cleared history?
I'm using XP, did an automatic Firefox update yesterday, which apparently gave me 6.0. Today, after clearing history, noticed that a random selection of about a dozen of my bookmarks shows up in the history box. I don't know that it does any harm there, but I'm baffled.
I'l try to explain again. My addressbar is set to show only 10 addresses when i click the down arrow. It doesn't have anything to do when i type a letter in it. Now, this 10 addresses should be either typed or pasted, not bookmarks that i have clicked. And they are usually typed addresses, when i click a bookmark it doesn't appear in the addressbar drop-down list, except for the sites that i mentioned previously.
I think his will make it more understandable. Lets say i've typed 10 addresses and they appear in the addressbar drop-down list.

These are all typed adresses. Now when i click some bookmark the dropdown stay the same, but when i click the youtube site bookmark it replaces the www.x10.com site and takes it's place. Only few bookmarks behave this way.

could someone tell me why emails I am sending appear in the draft folder even after the email has been sent and is in the sent folder?
Do you get draft emails every time your write an email, or do you just have a pesky email in drafts? There's a big difference.
If it happens every time, it could be that your email isn't being sent to your recipient. If it happened only once, it's just an incomplete email you haven't sent or deleted yet.

When I use the search box on the upper right and begin to type a word/words when the menu of possible choices appears and I click on the one I want, nothing happens. It doesn't automatically put it into the box like it used to and I have to type everything out.
Didn't work for me. Got the drop-down but still won't transfer to Google box.

With FFox open and Sync enabled, moving a bookmark, either in the Bookmark sidebar or in 'Show All Bookmarks' window, to another location - for example: dragging a bookmark from "Unsorted" to another location in Bookmarks - causes a delay during which time the Bookmark list seems to freeze and bookmarks can't be moved, selected, etc. The delay lasts for several seconds, and is longer on slower/older machines. If I attempt to move a bookmark (or folder) during the delay, it will move in unexpected ways once Bookmarks unfreezes as locations within the Bookmark list have changed.
With Sync disabled, bookmarks can be moved/selected/etc. without any delay.

My main computer is the Macbook Pro 266, and I noticed this behavior: FFox v36 bookmark delay with Sync enabled is about the same as v35, v35 was worse (longer delay) than v34, v34 was better (less delay) than v33, v33 was better than v32, V32 was much worse than v31, v31 was much worse (Sync unusueable) than v30, v30 was much worse (Sync unusueable) than v29, v29 delay made Sync unusueable.Currently 664 [exported from FFox Bookmarks to URL Manager for the count] abut never more than 4000: beyond 4000 bookmarks and FFoxs' Bookmarks respond slowly even without Sync active. I currently have 5 computer with FFox set up to use Sync. While I don't expect FFox to manage a huge collection of URLs, I would be nice to be able to access a Bookmark collection of 6000 to 8000 without noticeable delay. It's a simple text file after all, and as I'm only effecting one URL, why so long to update?
fyi: URL Manager tells me that I've amassed about 300,000 bookmarks, some from the late 90's which I still use for research. -
When I returned from holiday there were hundreds of messages waiting for me, but Firefox would only open the first few. Some that I tried to open just showed a balnk page, others showed a page of hundreds of lines of letters & digits. Every time that I open Firefox I receive the message that the IN-box is full.
I appear to be able to send messages, but not receive them.
I have spoken to Virgin Media who say that all messages can be accessed via another server(?) - e.g. Outlook Express, so it must be a Firefox problem!Firefox doesn't do emails.

I have been trying to work out how to get labview to detect the event when a 'string' control has been modified, where the user has finished editing the string either by 1) pressing the enter key on the keyboard, or by 2) taking the focus away from the string control again. For example.. if I use the mouse to click on the string control and then I type 1234 into the box, I would like to have a routine that does something once the user hits the Enter key of the keyboard, or when the user takes the focus away from the string control again by clicking on something else. I would like the routine to respond even when the user didn't change anything in the text box (such as when we mouse-click on the edit box to go into edit mode, and then mouse-click on something else to remove the focus with no changes to the contents in edit-box).
The purpose of my routine is to have a edit-box for a user to change for example the centre-frequency of a vector network analyser, so that the centre-frequency of the network analyser can change once the user finishes entering a new value in the text-edit box by hitting Enter key after the number is keyed in. Even if the user has clicked on the edit box, but changes their mind by mouse-clicking on something else to remove focus from the edit box, I would still like labview to detect the event when the control loses focus, so that the centre frequency can be updated anyway (to the same value that was already in the edit box).
So far, I've tried set the string control option to 'limit to single line', so that I can try to scan for a carriage return .. '\n' ... pattern in the string. Unfortunately this doesn't work because labview doesn't seem to attach the '\n' to the end of that single line.
Could someone please suggest ways to set a flag when a user hits Enter during text-edit mode of a string control, or when focus has been removed from the string control?
While I've only described my problem for controlling a single control parameter on the gpib device, I'd like to make this feature work so that I can do the same kind of thing with other control parameters as well.

instead of using the event structure, you can directly achieve to what you want by the KeyFocus property of the string control.
- Enable Limit to single line option
- Create the property KeyFocus in read mode and connect an indicator
Each time you click on the string to modify it KeyFocus is True; when you click away or hit Enter KeyFocus is False.
You can toggle your settings when KeyFocus changes from True to False.

E-books don't appear on my Kobo Mini after I have downloaded them from my computer.
I've downloaded some e-books from my library online. They appear in my Adobe Digital Editions on my computer and appear to successfully transfer to my Kobo Mini device, but when I eject my device and look at what books I have on my Kobo Mini, none of the new books are there. I don't understand because until now I have been downloading library books to my device without any problems. I tried unauthorising and then reauthorising my computer but that made no difference.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Same problem here.

Why can't I open up Illustrator CS6 after I have installed Yosemite?
I just installed Yosemite. Now when I try to open Illustrator I get the message to install Java SE6. When I am sent to the Java site it has me install Java 8. Once this is done, I still get the same message when I try to open Illustrator.

Why do I keep getting the same emails after I have deleted them.
Since I have updated to the new OS I have been receiving emails that i have deleted from my inbox to only be placed back in it. I thought Apple made the new update to where you view emails from all your devices and if you delete from one device it will do the same to the others or am I miss understanding? The OS will place the email back into my inbox like it was a new email coming through.
You can remove (uninstall) Java Console extension, you do not need them and they can cause problems. The same for the Java Quick Starter.

Preview window from history bookmark appearing on sites
Why is the preview window of the history bookmark appearing on my screentweet page when I am about to upload an image?
It is possible I had an addon performing that task (I recently switched back to firefox after a 6+month absence). That said, I did see the description "SCAM" appear on the tab earlier today as I was testing the browser, only to immediately disappeared when I tried to jump from another web site to the one in question. After that, I couldn't replicate the even partial compliance to display the custom name again...
With regards to why I have them bookmarked - it is for the reason you noted above: while I won't order electronics from this vendor due to their horrendous reputation of sending DOA electronics and making customers pay shipping to get their money back, it is still a source of info and pricing for use in comparisons. I'd also like to be able to modify the name of sites who have a good reputation or I have used in the past... -
Thumbnails appear as a white box with dotted line -WHY?
My library is still intact, however, my thumbnails are appearing as a white box with a gray dotted line. If I click on the box to open them, then they are there. I took my computer into an Apple store 2 days ago, they reset the computer and it was working fine. however, once again, I am having the same problem. How do I reset the computer to fix this problem and why does this keep happening?
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose the top three options.

When I mirror my iPad to my TV, the screen is not "filled" It appears to be in "box" setting(4:3)...why is that?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Mirroring won't fill the TV screen. The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the iPhone 4S or prior an aspect ratio of 3:2, neither of these will fit exactly into a TV screen which as an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Apple TV will not zoom the mirrored image, because it may well cut off information which is situated at the top or bottom of the screen.
You may wish to try each of the settings in settings > AirPlay > Adjust for Overscan for the best setting that suits you. -
This is ridiculous. The INTENT of having "Bookmarks" is to have them easily accessible. Why do we have to click a half dozen menu's just to see the bookmarks? Should click "Bookmarks" and bookmarks appear.
When you bookmark a Book, you go RIGHT to the page you want. You don't have to go to the library index, find what book, what author, how often you use this book, table of contents, find what chapter, find what page, etc.

In what bookmarks folder are the bookmarks located that you try to search?
You can click the "Show your bookmarks" button that is positioned next to the star on the location/address bar to get a drop-down list with the bookmarks.
Only bookmarks that were created by clicking the star once and that haven't been moved out of the Unsorted folder can't be reached directly.
You can also open the bookmarks sidebar via that drop-down list or use the Ctrl+B shortcut to have the sidebar where you can use its search bar to find a bookmark.
For easiest access you can move a bookmark the the Bookmarks Toolbar folder and have the Bookmarks Toolbar visible.
*"3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
*View > Toolbars<br>Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

Why Don't All of My Bookmarks Appear in the Bookmark Flyout Menus?
I cannot get all of my bookmarks in various bookmark folders to display when I use the bookmark flyout menus. For instance, I have a bookmark folder titled "Car Sites" which holds various web sites (maybe 15-20) catering to automobiles. These bookmarks are indeed valid and show up when I click Show All Bookmarks to go to the full bookmark "editing suite" tab.
However when using Firefox (V30.0) and using the cursor to use the Bookmarks drop-down flyout menus, some of those valid bookmarks do not appear in the folder flyout menus. Its like the flyout menus are being abridged. When I add a new bookmark to that folder, it appears in the Show All Bookmarks editing screen, but still doesnt appear in the bookmarks flyout menu.
There is plenty of room on my screen to expand the size of the flyout menu and show all of my bookmarks in a folder. Not like I have 500 bookmarks in a folder that span my screen top to bottom and need an arrow for browsing downward.You can check for problems with the <b>places.sqlite</b> database file in the Firefox profile folder.

why is my ipod so slow and laggy? i have lots of space on it, my history is deleted, i dont have multiple apps running! I have an iPod 4th Gen for about 2 years now and I don't know what to do.... Please help
Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
