Why do my updates constantly fail!!!????

This is VERY frustrating, and seriously making me lose the admiration I've always had for Adobe.
My Creative Cloud updates fail constantly. They begin downloading, and I get an error message that the download is corrupt.
I get it on BOTH my office and home Macs...sometimes behind a firewall, sometimes not....sometimes Wifi sometimes not.
What the hell is going on??? I had a client presentation and couldn't get Photoshop to work...I used a $1.99 photo retouching ap, that SERIOUSLY got me thinking about all the money I've spend with Adobe over the years.

Sallujan I am sorry you are facing a frustrating experience downloading your updates.  Are you receiving any specific errors?  You can find more details on how to resolve download errors at Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html.

  • Why do application updates continually fail when using AAM

For more than a week I have tried to use AAM to update 17 applications in need of bug fixes. Of those 17 I have had success with only one application, Acrobat XI Pro. I have attempted with about half a dozen others and they all fail about midway through the download process.
I am ending my 1 year subscription period and I am seriously considering not renewing my subscription. Getting help is very difficult indeed.

UrSphere are you receiving any specific error messages when attempting to install the updates?  If it is U44M1P7 then this simply means the update has failed.  To locate the root cause of the failure you will want to review the installation logs for the update.  This will allow you to locate the specific error which is preventing the updates from being applied successfully.
Please see Installation failed. Error U44M1P7 | Updates - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1p7-installing-updates-ccm.html for information on how to resolve the U44M1P7 error.  The document also references how to locate and interpret the installation log files.  Please feel free to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Windows Updates constantly failing and reverting after SCCM 2012 R2 pushes out updates

    Hi folks,
I wonder could anyone help me with a strange problem I am having!
We use SCCM 2012 R2 and I am trying to roll out updates to a Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit server.
When I deploy the updates to the server they get to the server and install but during the reboot it says Windows Modules Installer for a while then shows the failure configuring Windows Updates, reverting changes screen.
I’ve tried the suggestions of disabling 'Windows Management Instrumentation' and 'Windows Modules Installer' and renaming the repository folder but still no joy.
If I use Windows Update to install the updates the updates do go on but then when I add it to the collection in SCCM to push out the patches it sees the server as if the updates aren’t installed and begins doing the installs.
After the patches installs using SCCM and when the server is rebooted it goes back into the loop of saying Windows Modules Installer and reverts the updates and strips out the patches again.
I was hoping that when the Windows Updates were installed via Windows Update and once I put the server into the collection to push out the updates to the server it would have shown that the updates are already installed on the server and show that server
as being compliant in SCCM but unfortunately that isn’t happening.
It sights a couple of errors in the Setup event logs on the offending server: -
For multiple patches - Package KBXXXXXXX failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x80070643
For multiple patches - Initiating changes for package KBXXXXXXX. Current state is Invalid Resolved. Target state is Installed. Client id: WindowsUpdateAgent.
    After doing some research,
0x80070643 refers to a .Net Framework issue so I’ve ran a .Net Repair tool but that didn’t work either so I’m running out of ideas so any help would be greatly appreciated on how I can get this sever updated using SCCM and showing as compliant.
    Thanks,
    Bonemister

    Hi Torsten,
    Thanks for your reply!
I was afraid you were going to say that as it just doesn't make sense that when I install the update using Windows Update via the Ire-nternet and when the install and re-scan no updates are required.  It is only when I ask SCCM to check for patches
that it sees updates are missing and installed the updates before the OS reverts when.
Is there a way in SCCM to remove the record of what patches have been installed onto a particular server?  I tried deleted the server out of SCCM then applying the Windows Updates via the web then added the server back into SCCM and see did it pick
up the newly installed updates on the server.
The thing is I don't think that WindowsUpdate.log will show any failures as Windows update is showing as no more updates required.  It is just when SCCM installs that patches that the problem happens so that is what is leading me to think it is an SCCM
    problem.
My main goal is to get the updates into the server and for it so show as complient!
I'll check back through the even logs again.  Are they any SCCM logs that show patches failing to install and why?
    Thanks again,
    Bonemister

  • ADOBE Update constantly failing to download?

My desktop at home is an old eMac. I love that computer, but 'mother time' has taken it's toll! For some reason I am unable to download Adobe Update!? Everytime my computer goes to download a PDF file, ADOBE wants to update, and everytime I do that....it fails? I don't know what to do, or where to start?
    HELP!
    mahalo,
    Roger

    Hi Roger,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.
The combo update for PowerPC-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateppc.html
The combo update for Intel-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateintel.html
Repair Permissions after re-install, then reboot again.
If all the above do not resolve the problem, then it's time for an Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...

Try disabling your firewall and antivirus software and see if that helps - if you are trying to update using iTunes on your computer.

  • Why updates keep failing since 10.9.2 to 10.9.4 (blank screen)?

I'm IT manager with 60+ Apple computers (mostly iMac and laptops) all running Mavericks and since 10.9.2, the automatic system updates keep failing on a few of my computers (10-12 computers out of 60). Users launch the system updates when they leave office by the night and when they come back next morning, login screen is black and there's only a moving cursor! No matter if you reboot, safe boot, verbose or EVEN reinstall OS (I tried it once), it's still the black login screen.
This problem is highly discussed on the web and there's an easy fix to force update to continue and succeed... but as IT manger I am very tired to fix manually several computer every time Apple release a system update!! For people who's wondering, the fix is to power off computer, restart in safe mode (shift key), then type your admin account, hit TAB and type your password within the black screen then after a few try the display will light up and update will continue and succeed after a final reboot.
I am just wondering why updates keeps failing since 10.9.2, also in 10.9.3 and still in 10.9.4...  it's not happening on specific Mac model/year and my computers are not "ghosted" (restored) from disk image on each other... there's no link between the computers who's failing and those who succeed to update!! They are in different department of the business and they are not having same software installed. Few are for office work (Ms-Office) and other are graphic design (Adobe) or video. Almost all users are non-admin but a few are admin and both admins and non-admins are failing!
If you have some hints for me, I'll be very appreciated since I lost so much time to manually relaunching the update. Thx!!

The article is quite interesting. Quite a Mea Culpa from Apple!
Translated, the article says -- if you get any of these errors, iTunes and/or IOS have corrupted your device to the point where it cannot be recovered. You must reinitialize (i.e. restore from backup) your device.  -- excetp that the first step "Copy your backup" is less than informative or useful.
Under OSX, the mentioned location contains nothing but a bunch of files named with a string of digits.
Yes, I know what they represent and how to translate them -- howver, I pitty joe-user with no experience with OSX.
The bulk of the article is for Windows systems. Very little information in that article applies to OSX.
The funny, but sad, thing is the first thing they tell you to do is to update OSX and iTunes and security software -- when in fact that is what cause the problem in the first place. Granted the articles pre-date the OSX/iTunes updates which caused the problem.
However, all of that blather ignored -- the article does NOT address my problem.
    Unless it really does.
I have no issues (apparently) with successfully backing up my iPhone. At least iTunes claims that it is being successful.
What is failing is the second half -- the Sync.
OF course, that is if you belive iTunes -- which, according to the /Library/Logs/MobilBackup/MobilBackup.log, has in fact NOT happened now since January!
    Very interesting.
    Thanks for your suggestion.
    However, I continue to hunt.

  • Why do Extension Manager "updates" always fail to "update"?

Why to Extension Manager "updates" always fail to "update"?

What's your current Extension Manager version (6.0.X or 7.0.X or ...)? What's your OS (Windows 7 or Mac)?
If you are using Extension Manager CS6, the simplest way is to delete the EM installation folder manually, then download the latest full installer from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em6_download.html and install it, then you will have the latest update.
For Extension Manager CC, please go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers" (Windows 7) or "/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers" (Mac) and send the installer log file (The file name is something like "Adobe Extension Manager CC 7.1.1 12-16-2013.log.gz") to [email protected] so that we can check it.

Why are application updates failing to install from application manager?

Usually some update from another app is blocking any subsequent patches. The general cure is to run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, let the application manager reinstall and then let it try to update each application at the same time to prevent those version conflicts...

  • Why does whenever i updated my iphone 4 with ios 6.0.1 to ios 6.1 it always says that "Update is Failed"???

cuz whenever i updated my iphone 4 ios 6.0.1 to ios 6.1 as it says in my software updates it always says in the nearest end that Update Is Failed. I wan't to update it because my current ios version right now is not compatible with the carrier network that i've been using. And i've heard that 6.1 fixes those Bugs. I'm from Philippines by the way.

Whether you want to update to iOS 6.1 or not is up to you. There were no earth shattering "wow" features included in this update. The bug fix for the March 2013 calendar crashing issue, a new UI for the look screen when playing music, and a couple of other things.
If you want to update, just go to Settings>General>Software Update and update the iPad over WiFi.
You can read about it here.
