Can someone please explain me what is the need of creating these 2 archives

Why do we have doc, xls, exe, com, bat, sh, odt? Lets all just work with a plaintext flat file! It would make life so much simpler! :)

Are JDev autogenerated paths needed to create ear, war and jar files ?

We want to create ear, war and jar files from Ant build script generated from JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.
We also like to use ojdeploy with it.
In the process of creating build.xml files from projects, we see these paths.
We also have standalone Weblogic installed with ADF runtime 11.1.1.7
Questions:
1- Do we need these path ids to generate ear, jar, war files properly and then deploy the ear to our standalone Weblogic so that our webapp can run ok ?
2- Why are they generated, if they are not needed
From research, it appears that we don't need these paths except to keep ant targets of init, compile, exec etc with ojdeploy.
3- Is that true ?
We are afraid that because no paths are listed in the build.xml, then when we deploy the ear app, it cant use the ADF runtime on the standalone WLS.

There are two different things here. Using ant to build the class files and then building an ear from the class files and other resources.
The building part needs the libraries if you use javac as compiler. Building an ear file only needs the path to the jar files which are packed into the ear.
In this sense you need the pages you see in the build.xml.
Then Jdev offers another way: ojdeploy. This tool is a Jdev without a gui.
You can use this tool and build the classes for each project of a workspace and to build build war and ear file. This is just like you click the rebuild button for each project and then the deploy the projects and application. If you use this approach you don't need the generated path ids as the whole build process is done inside Jdev as it's done on your developer pc.

1. Why does Bridge need Illustrator files to be saved as PDF files? "PDF Compatible File" ticked in the save menu.

Why is WLS 7.0 trying to ejbc my jar file?

I have an application (server.ear) that contains four EJB jars
(entities.jar, managers.jar, services.jar, commands.jar). I'm using a
single ant (1.5.2) ejbjar task to generate the jar files and an ear
task to create the application. This has been working fine for some
time, but just yesterday WLS (7.0sp2) started giving me an exception
when I try to deploy -- the exception is appended to this post with
ellipsis added by me.
It appears that the EJBComplianceChecker is being run on this jar
file. I understand that this only happens when you try to deploy a
"raw" jar file that hasn't been ejbc'ed. It makes sense in this case
that the ServerVO.class would not be found since it doesn't appear in
WLS's system classpath. That class is actually in the jar file itself.
How does WLS determine that it needs to ejbc a jar file? Why would it
decide to ejbc this one? I've checked the jar file by hand and it
contains the ejbc-generated classes as well as a WLGENERATED entry.
I've also taken the ant-generated generic jar file and run ejbc on it
myself and I get the same results.

That was it. I have some startup classes that are in a jar file in the
server's classpath. I bet that one of the EJB's was referencing a
class contained in that jar which in turn referenced ServerVO which
was not available outside the EJB's jar file. That's the only way I
can figure that it got picked up by the EJB verifier.

These have to be exact versions (ie if you compiled with SP1 and deploy
to SP2, it'll recompile on the server.)
As for the NoClassDefFoundError, I suspect something in the server's
$CLASSPATH references the ServerVO class. You can refer to classes in
your parent classloader, but cannot have parent--->child dependencies.

Creating War , not Jar file.

I am trying to create my EJB and i created my web project. The problem seems that my JBoss will not recognize and deploy my table perhaps due to the structure of the war file.
My entities are working perfectly as they work, and have already been tested.
ANyway, what i want is some help into getting my build.xml into making a jar file and sending that one instead of the the war file..
Can someone please let me a link of where i should look ? Or what i should include in the xml file in order to create the file

Have to list all *.jar files one by one as classpath?

I use some third party jar files, and it seems that I have to list all the jar files one by one for the classpath. For example, this will work:
javac -classpath .\temp;C:\path\lib\log4j-1.2.9.jar;.\temp;C:\path\lib\jdom.jar -d .\temp -sourcepath @javalist.txtthis won't work:

The problem is that I dont' really know what are the *.jar files I need to use at compile time. I have to get the list of *.jar files at runtime. My java program needs to compile any other given java project at runntime, and those projects will have certain project structures, such

I need to consturcture the right classpath string and pass it to the exec method of the Runtime class. I have already successfully compiled a sample project by listing all the jar files one after one, but still want to know if there is a better way to do it.

Why do I need to use MOLGA?

I know that this is a very basic question, but I have been asked why do we need to have a new MOLGA for every country; what I know of is:
1.     Is the standard method of supporting multi-country (Global) HCM. MOLGA is central to the SAP HCM solution.
2.     The correct screens are shown in PA30 to maintain the personnel data in the correct formats for social security or equivalent number, form of address, addresses, bank details and so on.
3.     The correct infotypes can be made available by MOLGA, where there are particular pieces of information required on a country by country basis u2013 therefore reducing the risk of non compliance
4.     Correct ESS screens are available
5.     Payroll available by country. For example the payroll program is run per country using the MOLGA PC00_Mxx_calc, where xx is the country code, therefore for GB it is PC00_M08_calc.
But apparently this is not a compelling enough reason - can anyone help with more good reasons?

i have a question why do we need to have 2 JNDI's while configuring DB or OA adapters. I mean first we create a JDBC connection and specify a JNDI , and again in Deployments -> DBadapter/OAadapter-> we go and configure a JNDI with JDBC name .
Why is it so ?

the first one you mentioned is used when creating the jdbc datasource, the jndi is at that moment the identifier which you can use for a lookup of the datasource.
this jndi identifier you then use in the database adapter so it can lookup the datasource information based on the jndi value
so the first one physically creates it and in all the other steps you 'use' the jndi lookup for retrieving it's information

Why do we need schema groups ?

While customizing the price calculation techniques we are supposed to form a "schema group" before we assign a pricing procedure to either a vendor or a purchasing organization.
My query is, why do we need to have a schema group in the first place?
We assign the schema group to vendors in either xk02/purchasing organization data or mk02/purchasing organization data screens and to the purchasing organization in customizing.
Why can't we assign the pricing procedures directly, without forming any schema group??
I seek clarification in this regard.

Let me get this straight.
We mean that for effective searching of the calculation schema, SAP has used groups? If this be the case, then the system is still searching for the schema, how is the forming of group is helping SAP?
