Why does logon page navigate to first page in application

Hi all,
Using v 4.
Creating an application that has a modified page 101, adding in lost password option and a redirection to page 106 if this is the first time the user has logged in.
I can't find any code in page 101 that states it should go to page 1 before it processes the conditional navigation to page 106. Page 1 would be the normal navigation target if the condition for 106 returns FALSE.
Can anyone throw any ideas at me please as I'm getting frustrated that the app is not navigating as expected.

PS, Just a thought, but is the fact that page 1 is the HOME page got anything to do with it?

As far as I understand it ....
As long as all of your non-public pages have the security setting "authentication" set to "Page requires authentication", it doesn't matter which page they put in the URL, they will be redirected automatically to page 101 (the logon page). This would include your "Change Password" page, based on the requirement that they should have already logged on with a supplied password.
This is the scenario in my application. If the user is a new user, then the password_reset flag against their account is set to 'Y'. The next time they login, this flag is checked and will redirect them to the "You need to change your password" page (page 106). The flag is then reset to 'N' by successful completion of page 106 which means that the next time they login, they will be sent to page 1 instead.
If I run the application in development mode and I pass page 106 as the target page in the URL, the application will automatically redirect me to page 101, seen by the "Edit page 101" button at the bottom, forcing me to authenticate. In page 101, the process "Login" has the code I've included above that tells the authentication routine where to send me once authentication has passed.

Does it help if you disable "Google Instant" in the Google Search settings?

Why does Safari only display the first page of PDFs

When I use Safari to view PDFs attached to a web site I manage only the first page of the PDF displays. There is no problem if I use other browsers. Also the problem is specific to my machine as other Mac users can view all pages of the PDF on their machines. I have looked at Safari Preferences but there does not appear to be any incorrect settings.

do you have any 'pdf' plugins showing in HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ ?
If you do, quit all browsers & drag the plugin to the Desktop, or some other folder, then test pdf's again. If they still display oddly, try quitting Safari & removing the file Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist.
If np pdf plugins show, try the plist move anyway & if you still have problems, it's helpful to test this in a New User Account which takes but a few minutes & tells us if it's a system-wide issue, or restricted to your regular user.

Why does a PDF file created in Pages, attached to e-mail, not get sent? I even blank copied myself and nothing seems to have been sent. Could it bee the size of the PDF file?

They send for me, my test document was 3.8 MB.

You want to use word processing mode. I suggest you ask your question in the Pages forum and include information about what you are copying. Off the top of my head I can't come up with any reason you'd see this in WP mode. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iwork/pages

How to get app pages to go from last page back to first page

on the s4 when you were flipping through the apps pages when you reached the end or last page the next page was the first page. now with the s5 it stops at the last page and you have to work your way back through all the pages to get back to the first page.

I'm new at Ai so this may be basic. I can't figure out how to eliminate the page number from the first page. Any help would be appreciated.

Normally I would have a different master page for the first page, then have no page number on that master page.
Apply this master to the first page.
Or you can manually override the frame by holding CTRL SHIFT and clicking on the frame, then delete it.

Why does login token change on every page reload?

FYI: I'm using Portal 5.0.2 and developing portlets using JSP/Java on a remote server.
When printing all the request headers, I notice that "csp-session-token" changes every time I reload the page containing the portlet in which I'm displaying the headers. In the Advanced Settings page of this portlet's web service editor, I checked the box "Send Login token to Portlets" and I specified a login token duration of 30 minutes. What I would like is for this value to stay the same for the 30-minute duration.
Shouldn't my portlet display the same value for the request header "csp-session-token" for 30 minutes? Why does this header value change on every page/portlet reload? Or perhaps I'm not understanding how the portal uses the "login token duration" value. Can someone please enlighten me?

The first token will be good for 30 minutes, and the second for 30 minutes as well. Since the time value is encoded in the token, it must change with each request to be good 30 minutes.
This token is used for, among other things, calling back to the portal and acting as the same user. If you simply want a "session," the portal sustains a session on your app server that stays the same for the whole session. Feel free to set any non-persistent cookie and use it for that purpose.

Why do I only get the first page of a 5-page pdf when I attach it in Pages?

I'm trying to add a multi-page pdf to the end of a Pages document so that I can see what hard copy I sent in the post with the letter. However, I can only attach the first page of the pdf and the other pages don't show. I have tried selecting all the pages and choosing Print Selected Page when creating the pdf, (which was suggested in the Snow Leopard help pages) but the same thing still happens. Just the first page appears. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'm not sure if this should be posted in Snow Leopard or Pages so I'll try here! Thank you.

You can not attach a multi-page .pdf document to Pages.
Just create a folder in which you enclose both your Pages letter and the .pdf.

Why does the update change my home page and make Google so prevelant?

Several of the last "updates" involved the changing of my bookmarks and home page,. The so called update required me to spend more time in refreshing the browser to its previous condition. This is frustrating to say the least. Second why does the updated version of of firefox seem to favor google?

Normally, an update does not change your home page...
What did you home page change to? That might help identify the source of the problem.
I assume you have tried changing your home page back to your preferred site, either in the Options dialog or using one of the other methods:

* [[How to set the home page]]
Did that work at all? By "at all" I mean:
* Immediately after making the change, if you click the Home button, or launch a new window using Ctrl+n, does your preferred page load? Or is that ignored?
* Does the setting revert later in your session (you see in Options it has changed)?
* Does the setting revert after you exit and start Firefox up again?
* Is the problem only when you use your Firefox desktop shortcut?
With that information, it will be easier to recommend a solution.
I'm not sure I understand your second question. Google has always been the default search provider in Firefox. Are you seeing even more Google than that?

Button to navigate to first page

Hi all,
I have created an application which creates job and other details. My manager wanted an option of creating another job on the last screen. He needed a button (Create another job) and on clicking it should navigate to the first page of the application.
Could anyone let me know how to achieve this functionality?

For navigating back to first page, you can create an OUTBOUND plug to the last view from where u want to navigate and create an INBOUND plug to the first view.
Then create a link between these plugs.
In the action of the button on clicking of which u want to navigate write this code:
wdThis.wdFireplug<outbound plug name>;

Why does CTRL+ enlarge images on some pages, not others?

I have a website with many pages. On some pages, CTRL+ enlarges the images, on others, it enlarges the TEXT BUT THE IMAGE ACTUALLY SHRINKS!. An example of a page where CTRL+ does not work:

There is no Javascript on these pages. It is all in xhtml 1.0 STRICT, AND W3C CHECKS THE PAGES AS GOOD AS DOES THE CSS CHECKER FOR THE STYLE SHEETS.
i USE A LIQUID LAYOUT SO ALL VIEWERS HAVE THE SITE FILL THE SCREEN.
I have searched the W3C site and the net and cannot seem to find an answer.
Any help would be much appreciated.

This probably happens because the images are in a div container that has a fixed width.
The images themselves are quite large and scaled down to fit in their container.
If you zoom the page then the containers keep their width and thus the images won't get zoomed as would have happened if thumbnails had been used.
The reduction might be caused by those floating elements having their position as percentages.
