Why does map data space on N900 is limited to 5.5 ...

Can anyone tell me the reason why there is a limit to the map data space on N900? Currently, I can only down load the map data (using Map Loader) up to 5.5 GBs even though I still have over 20 GBs left on my /home/user/Mydocs.

1) Connect nokia n900 in the mass storage mode.
2) Open windows explorer and make sure you are able to view hidden files.
3) Go to the drive on n900 where the .qf and the qf (hidden) files are present.  
4) Open both (I changed in both, make a copy if you are uncomfortable), replace the numeric value against "quota" with 8589934592 (for 8GB or whatever size u want), save and reboot n900 (remove the battery and replace to ensure the reboot is clean).
5) Reconnect in mass storage mode and voila your map loader will see the 8GB

    Actually, i had the same problem that my UNDO tablespace starting eating too much space, my undo_retention is set as 3hours, but how can estimate it using the view.
    Here the following sample output

    Can anyone assist with it ? But i still have the strange feeling why would UNDO get full once commit is being used. Even i did try with AUTOEXTEND and it throw me the errors that can't extend UNDO tablespace.

    That is how it works in general, not just for Numbers. It irritates me on other apps at times, although I can see an argument that if it didn't do that then people would complain about missing functionality after they forgot they had turned data off for an app. At any rate, this is a user to user support forum and we can't do anything about it.     I don't know what OS you are using, or what application you are using to view the data about your exported files, but on Windows and using Windows Explorer the "Date Created" field relates only to the date that the exported file was created, i.e. if viewed immediately after export it will show the date created as being the same date. In order to view "Capture Date" in something like Explorer, you first have to ensure you have included the Metadata as Conrad outlined above, then you have to adjust the display properties of Explorer to show the "Date Taken" field. Here is an example, part of a folder I exported back on March 3rd, note the difference between that last two dates:

    Start Nokia Maps application, go to Options > Tools > Settings > Map > Maximum memory use and move the cursor to a larger percentage of available space.

  • Iphone 5s - why does maps show a route I've never requested?

    I was recently searching on my maps for a location from one point to another and how long it would take to walk.  The following day I go into maps and there on the screen are the driving directions from my home address to a place the other side of the country - which I didn't request or search for.  Anyone else had the same thing happen?  Does anyone know why it would happen?  Could it be linked to a website I've looked at?  Am completely baffled.

    Initially, this sounds more of an environmental issue than a hardware.
    A couple of things to ask..
    Does the glitch only happen in your area? If you go for a drive 50 or 100kms away and use it in that area, does the location go off somewhere in that area too and put show you in a strange place after a period of time? Or does this issue seem to only happen in your area?
    Also when it goes off to this other place, if you do nothing and just keep walking, running or what ever you are doing, does it eventually find you again in the correct location?
    I'm wondering if you are a getting a conflict between the GPS location and the Cell Tower/WiFi locations when you are in a certain place and one overrides the other.

I've noticed that in Leopard available hard drive space can suddenly diminish (when you haven't added much to it) then after you've shut down and started up again the available space is suddenly increased. Didn't used to do that in Tiger. I've seen it on a friends' MacBook as well so it must be a Leopard thing. Anyone know why?

    it does depend on the total amount of RAM and on how much RAM applications that are running need. look at the Activity monitor->system memory tab. do you see many pageouts? if you do, system writes to the swap file a lot. you can also check the size of the swap file directly. enter commandshiftg in finder and enter /var/vm in the resulting popup. this will take you to /var/vm which contains the swap file. check how big it is.

  • Why does my hd space say it has 0 audio, 0 photos and mostly all 'other' (yellow)?

    My HD space had maxed out so I purchased "duplicate finder".  Before I used duplicate finder, my files mainly were audio and very few other (yellow portion).  My HD space has maxed out again but now, it's zero audio, zero photos and practically all yellow.  That is impossible for me to have zero audio and zero photos.  And what is "other"?  I hope someone can help me on this...thanks in advance!

    Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
    Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
    According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
    When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown asBackups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.
    See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
    You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
    Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
    Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
    ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
    If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
    Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning.
    I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
    When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

    I am trying to compare a DB2 date format to a date variable from SSIS. I have tried to set the variable as datetime and string. I have also casted the SQL date as date in the data flow task. I have tried a number of combinations of date formats, but no luck
    yet. Does anyone have any insights on how to set a date (without the time) variable and be able to use it in the data flow task SQL? It has to be an easy way to accomplish that. I get the following error below:
    An invalid datetime format was detected; that is, an invalid string representation or value was specified. SQLSTATE=22007".

    Based on my research, in DB2, we use the following function to convert a string value to a date value:
    Date(To_Date(‘String’, ‘DD/MM/YYYY’))
    So, you can set the variable type to String in the package, and try the following query:
    ACCOUNT_DATE  BETWEEN  '11/30/2013' AND  Date(To_Date(?, ‘DD/MM/YYYY’))

  • Why does displayed data flicker?

    I am acquiring temperature from three RTDs and I want to display the real-time temperature on the front panel.  If i use the DAQ Express I have no problem doing so. However, I am trying to avoid using the DAQ Express and use DAQmx instead. On my front panel I have a numeric indicator for each RTD, but when I use the DAQmx to read in the 3 RTDs, the data flickers between 0 and the correct temperature measurent.  I've adjusted the sampling frequency and the number of samples to see if that affected it, which it didn't.  How can I display the real time data without it flickering between 0 and the correct measurment?

    I agree with voodoo_ that the issue is that you are calling DAQmx Read when there are no samples available.  In this case, DAQmx Read will return a null array (since you have not specified the number of samples to read).  Since it looks like you are only interested in a software timed update, I would recommend modifying your code to the following:
    While inserting a wait into the while loop would likely also remedy the problem, I don't see the need for a continuous acquisition in this example.  If you do need continuous acquisition, you can connect the Number of Samples to Read Per Channel input of DAQmx Read which will delay the loop according to how many samples you want to acquire per iteration.

  • Why does the data disappear from my form fields when my form is sent over to client ?

    Hi all,
    I don't know if this is just happening a few times or ALL the time unfortunately:( I normally send over estimates (as regular pdfs) with some filled out Acrobat forms that make up part of the estimate (these include terms of agreement, project details, etc.). Now, before I send out the pdfs I password protect the entire pdf so that nothing can be changed, but that the pdf can be printed at high quality.
    Well, what is happening when my client opens up the pdf (usually on a Windows machine) is that NOTHING APPEARS in all of the form fields where I had input and saved the data! Yet when I open up the form on my Mac in Acrobat, or Reader or Preview, all looks just fine. Any idea why this is happening and what I could do to prevent it from happening in the future? I am using Acrobat X.

    Hi Gilad,
    I never use Preview and did not use Preview at all before sending the document over to my most recent client either.
    I only opened Preview up this morning after I discovered that all of the form data had disappeared on his end! And the only reason I opened up Preview was because I already knew it looked fine in Acrobat so wanted so wanted to view the form in a different application.
    My client would not even have notified me about it had he not sent the signed form back to me and I saw there was no data there! I then called him and asked him about the missing data and he said that he thought I had simply sent over the form purposely with blank fields:(
    I have just emailed him to ask him what application he opened it up in. My understanding is that he is on Windows because ne mentioned to me his company was using Windows when we last spoke. Perhaps he has a personal Macbook where he opened it? I just don't know and can hopefully soon find out:)
    But THANK YOU for letting me know about that script! I appreciate it:) I have now downloaded and installed it and will just have to use it on ALL of my forms before sending them out:)

    Data can be difficult to manage. You may have to turn everything off and gradually turn functions on one by one weekly.
    Here are a few tips:
    When the iphone goes into sleep mode, WiFi is turned off to conserve battery when unplugged from a power source. The phone will then use the cellular data network for all data needs. 
    MMS and Visual Voice Mail use data to transmit pictures, videos, and audio.
    Turn off push notifications. The data usage adds up quickly.
    Turn off push email. It’s small but it adds up. Switch to fetching email in manual mode.
    Don't use location based alerts in the Reminders app
    Turn off weather and stocks in notification center.
    iCloud and iCloud enabled apps use data. When you update a contact it is updated in iCloud.  You can use the backup and Photo Stream they only use WiFi.
    Find my iPhone is helpful but it also uses data.
    Turn off all Cellular data if you are close to you limit.
    iMessage uses data to avoid SMS and MMS usage.
    Things to avoid on 3G
    Anything that streams.
    Online storage apps
    Online gaming
    Google Maps or any apps that use location data
    App Store or iTunes 
    If you are constantly finding yourself getting billed for extra data use every month it may be a better idea just to upgrade to a bigger data plan.

    It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:

    Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
    Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
    Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
    Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
    Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
    Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
    If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
