Why does my iPod touch running iOS 8.1.2 drain very rapidly below half a battery and dies at roughly 10%? Wifi is off. So is location services, Bluetooth, etc.
The battery on my iPod touch has been acting very weird and I don't know why. I just got this iPod two weeks ago for christmas. When the battery gets down to half a battery, weird things start to happen. The battery drops 15,20,25% in the matter of minutes. On top of this, my iPod touch always dies at 10%. Any battery-consuming feature is off so I can't explain what is happening. Is it a defective batter?

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked. I have tried on a windows and a mac and noticed no change. I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

I called apple 5 times today and asked me to restore it 3x the problem still exists. This problem starts to occur yesterday after upgrading to IOS6.
Apple customer service is not good enough as they cannot fixed the problem or tell me that I can change the unit as I just bought this 2 months ago.Because there is a bug in iOS 6 that effects the 4G iPod touch.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -

No, the iPhone can determine location by GPS and cell tower locations neither of which the iPod can do. So the fact that it works on the iPhoe does not tell you anything. It could be that your router is not in Apple's database. In that case you will just have to wait until they add it. Try using a public wi-fi source to see if location works there. -

Try downloading the current version on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in your purchase history. Then on the iPod go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it

All batteries recover a bit when they sit for a little while. Also most iPod battery apps register only in 5% increments, because it is hard to really be accurate to the single percent. Just because yours shows in 1% increments does not mean it is actually accurate to that level.

Why does my ipod touch show up in iTunes then disappear? The computer seems to recognize it as a camera device, rather than a mass storage device. Does this have anything to do with the problem? When plugged in, a window pops up asking which photo program you'd like to use, and if you cancel, that's it. Even if you try to open a photo program, and download your photos off of the ipod, it still won't show up in itunes.
