Barcode implementation at delivery level:

Could you please share with me your experience of implementing / integrating Barcode with SAP.
Hi All,
Our client is planning to implement Barcode(developed in Dotnet) for a specific plant while doing delivery.
On the basis of available quantity, picking, packing and post goods issue is done.
Barcode would step-in at this point. The Barcode developer wants the data in a flat file which has the following details:
Delivery Document Number
Item (material number)
Quantity
Plant
Storage Location
Flat file format would be something like this:
1004616846|000000000020000118||1000.000|40* (* asterisk as a delimiter)
1004616846 = Delivery doc #
000000000020000118 = Material number, etc.,
Thanks.

Please let me know if I'm missing something

  • Automatic Packing at Delivery level using PACKMODI

    Hello Friends,
To activate the automatic packing at delivery level without any packing instruction the PACKMODI enhancement can be used.
    Am i Right??
If so Kindly share some inputs how to used this Enhanacemnt
    It includes 3 User Exit.
There is no documentation provided for it.
Pl can any one explain its functionality
and how it is helping to packed automatically at delivery level

This is the doucmentation for this enhancement:
The extension PACKMODI contains user exits for automatic packing.
As of Release 4.6C, the packing instruction determination and packing
according to packing instruction functions are available for automated
packing. New user exits in the form of  BADIs were created for automated
packing to add data to the packing instruction determination function or
to have the packing instruction that is to be used appear as a default.
The class for automated packing is called BADI_HU_AUTOPACK.
Generally, customer functions after 4.6C only exist in order to be
compatible with previous releases. If you want to implement your own
automated packing logic, you should only do so by way of this new class.
It is not necessary to use packing instructions in order to implement
    your own automated packing logic.
Therefore, the previous sample routines for filling in customer
    functions no longer exist.

  • ATP check at order level and delivery level

    Hello SAP Gurus,
We are implementing ATP ( Available to promise ) check for the product lines of our client.
Client is asking for comparative benefits if we implement the check at order level or at delivery level . Which would be most beneficial .....activating check at Sales order level OR at delivery level?
Kindly help me by sharing your thoughts or any through any standard help available on SAP site.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhijeet

Its always better to have the best of both the worlds.
Have ATP both at order and delivery level. Its important at order level since you would like to give the customer a confirmed date and quantity when he places the order. It ensures that you do not over commit or under commit the customer.
ATP at delivery level is, i think, should be a must which would prevent creating ambiguous deliveries with huge quantities even if the stocks are not there and then getting stuck during goods issue. Also, it might happen that delivery is created lot later than when the SO gets created and in the meantime stock position might have got changed. A lot of rescheduling and manual backorder processing keeps happening and you can never be sure if a stock that was booked by a sales order would still be there with it.

  • ATP Check at Delivery Level instead of Sales Order

In Standard SAP, whenever a sales order is created the ATP check is done and a Goods movement 601 is done for it and gets blocked.
I want that no movement to be carried out at Sales Order Level and should get blocked only at the Delivery level, instead of Sales order.
Can i do this by not defining any movement type in the schedule line category attached to the Item category of the sales order.

    hi amit,
u cannot remove MT assignment to SLCAT ,but what you can do is for your checking group and checking rule remove the ATP check relevancy in requirement class defination in spro customising >sd>availibility and TOR.
so that in VOV4 transaction for your SLCAT atp will be deactivated.
only while posting material doc at the time of PGI system would check for availibility and block the goods movement.

  • Stock issue at delivery level

I have a fert having stockable product, MM post 100 tons to storage location.

i have run the mmbe report which shows the 100 tons qty and "schedule for delivery" of 40 tons.
no pgi done of any single delivery so far.
Looking for the gurus experience in this regard as problem is very critical by nature.
    Regards,

    Hi Piyush,
Please follow the following path :
SPRO | Sales and Distribution | Availability check & Transfer of Requirements | Availability Check | Carry Out Control for Availability Check <--
In the screen select the Availability check and Checking Rule and then Explore it.
There are several options available here, like what kind of stocjk the system should take into account while doing availability check. Here you can select / deselect (X or Y etc) for Sales Order Stock to give you more clear picture for the stock and force the system to take the desired sales order stocks into calculation.
Hope you will get the very clear picture of the scenario configuration settings.
revert Back If it helps you.

  • How to know Packing should be at Delivery level or shipment level?

    Hello Experts,
As per my knowledge Packing can be done at delivery level and Shipment level but how to know at material should be packed at what level?
    Thanks

    Hi Prashant,
Normally we update Matl Grp Pack.Matls field in BASIC DATA 1 of Material Master in Packaging Material Data section.
Based on that details, you can get to know that if this needs to be Packed in What type of Material.
Depending upon your design of Packing you can get to know when should you do the packing.

    MJ.

  • Printing mataerial description for batch split material at delivery level

    Hi all,
Here i am printing the material description which is maintained in the item level at sales order level. For each material they have maintained two material descripption.I am not able to display the second material description in my export invoice whenever the material is splited into batch ie batch split at delivery level. so please can anyone help me regarding this, I am not able to get it from long time.
    Regards,
    madhu

    Hi,
You can create a two folders for printing the line items, one folder for the normal line-items and the other folder for printing the BAtch-Split Items. you can do this by putting condition as UEPOS NE 0 or UEPOS EQ 0. You can include the Item-Description of the Batch-Splitted item in the Corresponding folder, so when there will be a batchsplit it will get printed.

  • How to validate Expiry Stock at Outbound Delivery level instead of checking at Goods Issue?

    Hello Everyone,
The client wants us to validate Expiry Stock at Outbound Delivery level instead of checking at Goods Issue?
What is the solution for this?
    Regards,
    Anwar

    Hi Moazzam Sir,
I'm sorry for not explaining in detail. Actually, I posted the issue in a hurry. I apologize.
Actually, the client has materials which has expiry date. They use Batch Management. They maintain expiry data (90 Days) in Shelf Life Expiration Date. Their requirement is: User is creating sales order in VA01. Then, he creates Outbound Delivery (OBD), then PGI. They want system not to create OBD, if the material has expired. They want some error message to be thrown whenever user is trying to create OBD for expired stock.

    Anwar

  • Want to change pricing in delivery level

    hi,
    sap gurus,
where is the settings for changing price at delivery and billing levels.
    configurations settings plz
    regards,
    balaji.t
    09990019711

    Dear Balaji,
First of all at delivery level, pricing will not appear...at billing level you can either do the changes manually by selecting the particular condition and updating it by redetrmination of prices by various logic available as per your requirement or else you can do that automatically by activating in condition type settings.
    Reward Points if it helps,

  • REG: Freight condition maintain in delivery level

    Hi Gurus,
I want to maintain one freight condition type in delivery level because  my customer sometimes picked from my depo & some times we send by our transport.
What should be my approach for this?
can I maintain any pricing procedure  at delivery level. If yes then how ?
I created a sales order & tried to put a condition type at delivery level But in item level condition tab is greyed out.
    Thanks & regards

In IMG path select  Logistic Execution =>  Shipping => Basic Shipping function => Pricing => Define Pricing Procedure for delivery, assign the pricing procedure to your delivery type and save.
Now include the freight condition in delivery.
    thanks

  • Why item category re-determined at delivery level

    Hi Gurus
I want to know what is the purpose of redetermining item category at delivery level?

First thing to know is that Item Category determination is used only on newly added items and other specific usages like batches, product substitution, etc. It is meant for Deliveries that are not created with reference to a sales order. If you are copying an item from the order and the item category is configured as a Delivery Item category in 0lvp, SAP copies the order item category and does not redetermine it from configuration.
If you are using Product Substitution in the delivery, SAP first copies the higher level item from the Sales Order, then executes Material Determination to bring in the substitution (lower level) items. In this case the higher level item category would be from the order. Redetermined BOMs would follow the same logic as Product substitution.
In short you can redetermine items in delivery when you are using product substitution or add new Items in delivery or using Sales BOMs.
Hope its clear to you now.
