Why does the latest version of ITunes change all of my web based icons to ITunes programs and all of my desktop icons to the ITunes icons?
when downloading itunes why all my web based programs change to itunes programs and all of the desktop icons change to itune icons?
That's because iTunes is registering itself as the default application to open those kinds of files. I believe you can stop that behavior when you install it. To revert a file type's default handler you need to select it and select "Get Info" from the File menu and change the settings under "Open with:" to your desired application.

iTunes keeps saying its the latest version. Ive downloaded a 4.3.5.ipsw but when I try and restore from this iTunes says the firmware isn't compatible...any idea's what to do next?
The iPod 3g will only support iOS up to 4.2.1 and nothing beyond that.

On my desktop, I have been using Firefox V27 on Ubuntu 12.04 for some time. It uses secure sites - such as https://mozilla.org - and accepts the Security Certificates quite happily, so I am not even aware there is any issue.
My new laptop is Windows 8,1, and I have installed Firefox- the latest version.
Whenever Firefox visits a secure site, it ALWAYS says that there is a problem with the security certificate - even at mozilla.org - and warns me away. I have to complete a security exemption.
Why is this, and how can I fix it?
Thanks in anticipation.unfortunately the fiddler2 issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

Why does talking to Siri only work periodically???? Sometimes it does fine and other times it just keeps running and nothing happens! The trascription doesn't take place on your phone. The audio file is processed a little on the phone and then sent to Apple's servers for the bulk of the work, and the resulting text is sent back to your phone.
Sometimes there might be problems connecting to the internet to send the file. Sometimes there might be problems with Apple's servers in a specific region. In my case if I go outside my house a bit my phone will still be trying to connect to the wifi (there is just a little bit of a signal). There isn't enough wifi to handle sending the audio files to Apple, but enough that the phone keeps trying to use it.
Things that sometimes help. Turn off wifi if it is weak. Put your phone into airplane mode for a few seconds and then turn the radio back on.
If the problem is at Apple's end. Just wait a while. -
i just downloaded the new version on my iphone now it is asking me whether i want to allow icloud to use the location of my iphone. It is stuck - cant select yes or no.

Let me get this straight. You have pictures on your phone that you can't afford to lose. They aren't backed up. Then, before you back them up by importing them to your computer for safe keeping, you decide to update the software?
On what planet would this be a sane thing to do?
No offense, but NEVER update any software, be it on your computer, phone or whatever, unless you're darned sure ALL your data is safely backed up.
If you have no backup of the the pictures you "can't afford to lose", then unfortunately, I think you just lost them. -

Often, when I return to the computer after a break, Firefox has gone. Other times, it fails when I'm loading something else, e.g. Skype, but not every time. This has only happened since I upgraded.

iPhoto is only included if you are buying a new Mac and then it is only available at the app store - you must "accept" it (associate it with your Apple ID) and then download it. It is not part of the OS - it is an "add-on". Only updates to a previously purchased/registered copy will be offered automatically. Depending on the age/model of the Mac and when/how you acquired iPhoto originally, you will most likely have to pay for the new MAS version - there was a short period last year where Apple allowed anyone who installed Mavericks to upgrade to the latest versions of iLife free of charge, but that is no longer in effect.

I would repeat myself... "available updates for Adobe Flash Player are automatically included in Chrome system updates".
Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available. The integrated Google Chrome Flash plug-in cannot be uninstalled using the Flash Player uninstaller. You can only enable or disable the integrated plug-in.
Therefore, as it's showing you're at the latest version 10.3.183.23, it would appear it is an issue 'internal' to Chrome's system updates; reason why I had referred you to their support, or alternativelly, post to their forums.
