Why doesn't my App store work after upgrading to 6.0

IPad 2 wifi
Just got it back from the shop and they did a reset.  When I was updating the IPad so it had the apps I wanted, one of the apps stated I had to have 6.0.  I thought why not.  Since the update, I have not been able to see my list of programs in the App Store under purchased.  It cycles for 5 minutes and then shuts down the App prog.  Took it in to the Apple store and they did all sorts of things to it (mostly through information provided through the communities, Not Apple) and said I had to restore it again.  Wipe and restore it and now it has no Apps other than the original and my list of downloaded programs are still inaccessible.  All other functions of the App Store program worked.
Just as a funny FYI, I downloaded the updated 10.7 ITunes to my laptop and it doesn't have access to my account either.  Just cycles and says the web site cannot be found.  Have another computer with 10.6 and the list works fine.
So now in order to find out what I had on my IPad, I have to either wait for an update to unscrew this mess, or downgrade to 5.1.1 (which isn't available through apple), or go through a list of 4000+ apps and games and hope that I can find the ones that I had before.
I am used to this kind of crap through a PC based system so I learned to make backups.  I guess I need to start learning if apple has a way to do that now because they are as screwed up as PC's.

I would suggest deleting the Safari Preference Files and Caches.
To do this:
Go to Apple Menu Bar> Go> Library. (You must hold the option key to have the Library option be shown in the menu).
Then go to the Caches folder and look for a folder that says "com.apple.safari" or something similar. Drag that folder to the Trash.
After that, go to the Preferences folder in the Library and look for a file called "Safari.plist" or something similar. Again, drag that file to the Trash.
Close the Finder window and relauch Safari.
Hope this helps!

  • Why doesn't the App store recognise that I already have Facetime installed and want me to repurchase it?

Why doesn't the App store recognise that I already have Facetime installed and want me to repurchase it?  I also canot upgrade from V3 to V 1.02?

For some reason the Apple servers are having an issue retaining the bank card's CVV code (three digit security code) in the payment method area. Every time I run into an issue, whether in the iTunes Store or the Mac App Store, when I check my account info the CVV code has been missing every time!
Try resolving the problem from iTunes, you have more access to your account details in iTunes. Sometimes it seems that when there is a problem with incorrect or incomplete information regarding your method of payment the Mac App Store's warnings get confusing.
Open iTunes, enter the iTunes Store, then log in and review your account information. Make sure that the billing address is correct and that if needed, the CVV code, the three digit security code from your bank card, is correct. On your way out reset the notifications.

  • Many apps not working after upgrade

I have a lot of apps not working after upgrade even apple's remote, splash id etc... Anyone else or is it just me?

I had trouble with MPR, but since it's free, I just deleted it and reloaded it directly from the App store onto the phone. It had an upgrade, too, that must have clashed with the 2.2 upgrade. Once I did the download, it was fine.

  • Why doesn't the App Store prompt for older versions on first download?

I thought Apple user interfaces were supposed to be slick.  Here's what I have to do to install an app.  I've inherited a first generation iPad from a friend.  The iPad was fully erased and set back to factory defaults before I got it.  I have created my Apple ID and started customising the machine to suit me.  The machine is running the very latest version of IOS it is capable of supporting 5.1.1.  So I gaily visit the app store and start trying to install a few apps I like.  Of course today 90% of the apps in the store are designed for IOS 6 or later and simply refuse to install at all.  So here is the rather less than slick workaround I have to do.
First I have to put the iPad away and go to my Windows 8.1 Desktop computer running iTunes.  I log in using my Apple ID, visit the App Store, pick the apps I want and download a few that I'd like to my computer.  I then switch back to using the iPad.  Now I see the apps I've downloaded to the computer attempting to install themselves on the iPad.  If I've downloaded more than one app.  This fails for all the apps.  I have to wait for all the apps to fail, then delete them from the iPad and then visit the App Store on the iPad and navigate to Purchased Apps section.  Now I can see my apps waiting and can attempt to install them one at a time.  If I do this then, each app attempts to install singly, fails, and then I am gracefully asked if I'd like to download an older version of the app.  If I do that the download and install works - hooray!  I then repeat this process for the remaining apps.  Next time I need to install any apps I have to repeat the whole process.  It's not what I'd call slick.
Why on earth doesn't the App Store simply prompt for an older version of the app when I first want to install it?
Why do I have to do the rigmarole of switching to my PC, downloading there, and then switching back to the iPad again just to force the "Would you like to download an older version of the App" prompt to appear?
    I'm not impressed so far.

No one here can speak for Apple since we are all just users like you. Perhaps the answer is as simple as this. This feature just rolled out recently. Perhaps Apple thought it was important enough to make it available before they had built out the whole solution.
    Just a thought.

  • Why isn't my app store working with iOS 6?

I cannot use my app store. It keeps telling me the app store is unavailable.
Is anyone else having this issue?

My app store worked at first... Now it will only display search results.
"Featured" and other tabs are fruitless - categories button does nothing...
Is this the same for everybody?
Also I start up the Passbook app and press the App Store button I just get the message "Cannnot connect to the iTunes Store"

  • Why doesn't the App Store Flag go away?

This is a small thing, but the details are where it is at. I have a new iPhone 6 running iOS 8.02 and the App Store flag says I have four new app updates to download. This was true before I downloaded all the updates in iTunes and synched with my phone. Even after updating and syncing through iTunes, when I click on the App Store app and click on Updates 'Update All' is grayed out and there are no apps to update, yet the flag with '4' persists.
Is this a bug? Is there some way to get rid of that annoying and misleading flag?

I tried this and it didn't work. The only thing that clears that number is to actually update at least one app through the App Store on the iPhone. If I do all the updates through iTunes, it leaves a the phantom number in the flag.
I think it is a bug.

  • Why isn't the App Store working at all?

Okay so after updating my iPad this morning my App Store isn't working, like AT ALL. And I have yet to update my iPhone 5 because it also will not let me use the App Store. What's up with it?

I think you just have to keep retrying throughout the day.
Once you get in, perhaps just update the Apps that are most important to you for now.
The servers are still going to be very busy today.

  • Why Doesn't The App Store Display Correctly on my MBP?

Ever since OS updates were included in the App Store, I noticed that product icons never fully load on the storefront. I'm always having to reload the page to get everything to display properly and sometimes that doesn't work! Hey, Apple... fix your store or I'll be using my Windows 7 Virtual Machine more often!
    The Mac App Store rating...

It doesn't sound like an Apple issue but rather one about your user profile.
I have a few apple comptuers running the same OS, and they have no issue.  As the iApps store, is an internet store, other people in your area would also be having the same issue if it was the iApps store that was causing the problem.

  • Why doesn't the app store updater update Pages

The App store tells me I have an update for Pages.  When I select to update Pages, it starts OK.  Tells me it will quit Pages, and it does.  Then it reopens Pages, but it has not been updated.  I know this because I just installed a OSX update, and now pages will not let me share my document via Email, it tells me I have to update Pages and I cannot.  And after this seeming update, I still cannot share via email in Pages.
I just knew that updating anything on my MacBook Air would bite me in the butt.  I remember the old days, under the esteemed Steve Jobs, when stuff worked just fine all the time.  I was never afraid to update anything back then.  Now I cringe when I have to update, I just know something or another has not been tested thoroughly... but I digress.
Has anyone had the same problem?  And does anyone know if Apple still charges $90 bucks for a support call with a real person?
Thank you Thank you Thank you.

  • Why isn't the App Store working on my iPad.

I can get into the App Store but I can't update, download or search for apps. It just has the little twirly circle icon, never asks me for my password or comes up with anything. This problem started 4-6 days ago in the middle of app downloads. I have tried numerous times to get it working again but I can't.

    Hi there crazynesswithmew,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
