Why don't my iPad & iMac calendars sync by iCloud?

why don't my iPad & iMac calendars sync by iCloud?

I trust that you have tried the really basic stuff, like quitting the calendar on both devices and restarting both devices, but if you haven't done that, give it a try.
You are selecting the correct calendar in the iPad app correct?

  • My iPad won't sync my iCloud documents

My iPad won't sync my iCloud documents, neither will my computer, and I have everything checked and updated. From the "Document and Sharing" box to the password being rewritten a thousand times. I also have space in my iCloud memory. What to do? URGENT

    Hello Modean,
It sounds like you have deleted and re added the iCloud account to your iPad but none of the iCloud content will sync to this one device. I have a few things to recommend for you. First, delete the iCloud account again from Settings > iCloud. Then close all the apps on the iPad:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, reset the network settings on your iPad then retest the issue:
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings
From: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

  • Ipad outlook calendar sync???

    Hi,
USB cable sync seems to work fine - contacts, music, videos, apps, etc on both my Imac at home and PC at work. The weird thing is that in my ipad calendar, after a sync with my PC, all appointments are 11 hours earlier!!! My Iphone syncs well with both Imac and PC. Basically, I keep things (sync) segregated - personal content from Imac and work stuff from PC. Does anyone have any tips. I am willing to try cleaning the slate with my ipad to start again from scratch, but just wanted to check with you all.
    thanks,
    db

Certainly do - time zones are exactly the same on Ipad and PC - as I said, Iphone works well - syncing with both IMac and PC. I just saw another post from someone else in the former soviet union. He's in Russia and I am in Kazakhstan - same problem 11 hour difference (earlier on ipad) in calendar appointment time. I have done the reset sync history, have specified that the ipad would be overwritten with info from the pc. It just stubbornly stays as is - 3 pm meetings on my pc read as 4 am meetings on ipad.
    thanks tho,

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Why don't my iPad and iPhone see each other's tabs in Safari?

My iCloud tabs don't show from my iPad to iPhone or vice versa. They each see both my of Macs' tabs, but my Macs will only see the tabs for whichever iOS device I used most recently. Why wouldn't they both show up at the same time?

I have the same issue.  I have an iMac, MacBook Air, iPhone 5, iPad air and an iPad mini.  All have icloud set up correctly and 2-3 devices at most show up on any given device.  My two iPads only see my two computers and the iPhone.  They don't see each other at all.  My iMac saw one the iPad mini briefly then it disappeared.   I went thru the entire kb article on all the devices, it didn't help.  I also tried resetting network settings and resetting all settings on both iPads, that didn't help either.   I had icloud accounts completely deleted from all my devices and re-added the iPads first, and that didn't help, without the macs and the iPhone they just didn't see any safari tabs at all then.   Hopefully this is something Apple is aware of and fixing in iOS 7.1.

  • Why does an iPhone/iPad default calendar change?

    Hi,
I'm working with several hundred iPhones and iPads, and I'm having difficulty understanding what causes someone's default calendar to change.
I push an ActiveSync profile through an MDM solution, and on a brand new phone that becomes the default calendar.
Sometimes when I deal with a device later, I see that the default calendar has been changed to either the iPhone calendar, or an iCloud calendar.
What I want to know is *WHY* a calendar changes? Does it change when someone:
    adds an iCloud account
    adds the gmail/yahoo/outlook app
    adds another native mail account
    whenever there's an activesync issue
connects to a computer with iTunes
    accepts a meeting invite
Really any information or experience anyone can provide is helpful. I want to find out what circumstances or changes would require someone to verify their default calendar.
    thanks!

That's actually become our resolution is to have them change it back. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Unfortunately I can't tell what changes it in the first place. I've several devices of my own, and immediately after enrolling in the MDM, one of the devices has the calendar set as the activesync one, and another is the on-device calendar.
There has to be something that triggers this, but I haven't been able to effectively reproduce the problem, but I would expect that the ActiveSync calendar should become the default calendar, but perhaps my expectations are misplaced.

  • Why won't my iPhone won't sync with iCloud?

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS5, an iPad 1 (iOS5) and an iMac (Lion).
My reminders, calendars and contacts sync between the iPad, iMac and iCloud web interface, but no luck with the iPhone.
Everything is set up and turned on in iPhone settings, it just won't work. I tried doing a restore and using the iCloud backup. Nothing.
Oddly, Photo Stream DOES sync across all devices, though.
Any advice? Should I try another restore a different way?

  • How do I remove one of the calendars from iCloud but keep it on the iPhone to sync with Outlook by USB and keep the other calendars synced on iCloud ?

iPhone 5, Macs and iPads at home, Windoze7 system at work.
Using iCloud to sync calendars, contacts, etc on all the home devices.  Used USB cable to sync at work with the Windows system, with the Outlook 2010 corporate account (corporate server).  I need only the Outlook calendar to be synced, syncing the contacts created too many problems with duplication, etc.  No need for that.  Worked fine until the latest upgrate to iOS7 and iTunes 11.1.  Used to have a calendar that was not on iCloud and was simply and exclusively syncing between the iPhone and the Windows computer at work. The other 3 calendars synced fine with the macs and iOS devices via iCloud but not with the machine at work - keeping private records private.
Upon the iOS upgrade, all calendars are now on iCloud.  I am no longer able to remove one - for security too - from the iCloud and sync it with the Windows computer exclusively.  I managed to sync it once on the PC with iTunes by switching iCloud off on the iPhone before connection by USB cable.  Trying it again, it tells me that it will erase all items on the Outlook account (the "more than 25% of your records are going to change" alert) and won't add or modify any.  I stopped the sync in time...
Tried on the iCloud site for a solution to remove the calendar, nothing.
There is no iCloud setup on this corporate computer - no access permitted. The USB cable connection is the only solution and up to the upgrade of the iOS this went seamlessly.
    Any solution out there?
    Thanks
    Vladski

I share a similar situation (usb iTunes sync with Outlook with my corporate laptop; personal calendar on icloud).
With IOS7, at first, iTunes/Windows does not propose Outlook sync anymore. I need to switch off calendar from iTunes to enable usual usb sync with Outlook. I had to sync it twice while checking "replace iphone data" to get a stable behaviour (like before) IOS7.When I try to re-enable icloud calendars, it proposes me to merge them...
I did not test merging so far...
IOS7 and iTunes 11.1 are not completely polished ;-)

  • I don't have my contacts, calendar, etc. on iCloud, how do I move them from MobileMe to iCloud?

I had a MobileMe account. Now I have iCloud. But my contacts and calendar aren't synced on iCloud, I only have 1 contact, myself. Why isn't the account moving? I went to www.me.com/move , but it takes me to find my iPhone sign in, then I can get to iCloud from there, but i can't see a way to sync or move my old mobileMe account to the new iCloud.

I think I may have it....I signed on to my old mobileme account from my pc, i have a pc, iphone, and a mac....then i see the option to move it to icloud, I hope this works lol...thanks

  • Switching Calendar syncing between iCloud and iTunes

I'm looking for advice about what happens when IOS Calendars, previously synced with a Mac via iTunes, are sync'd with iCloud.  The popup warning states that they will be "merged with iCloud"  But what does "merge" mean in this context?
    1) Will they be copied to iCloud leaving a stale duplicate on the device? or will they be moved to the iCloud (i.e. will the "local" versions  cease to exist?).
    And
    2) Will all the existing Calendars be "merged" together into a single iCloud Calendar or will each of the calendars retain their identity on iCloud?
Before taking the plunge into this dark hole I also want to know how to get back out of it. (I spend blocks of time away from the internet and so want to be able to resume syncing to my Mac over USB during those periods.)
    3) Suppose I go ahead and change the iPad's sync settings for all my many Calendars from computer-sync to iCloud-sync, and later revert back to computer-sync.
Will I end up with the same calendars (allbeit with possibly changed content) that I had before embarking on icloud syncing?  Will I get duplicate calendar entries on any of my devices or on the computer?
[Using iPad with ios8, (also iPod with ios6.1.6); Macbook Pro retina with OSX 10.10.1 ]

Thank you Japib - this gives me confidence to go ahead. But there is still one  thing that is puzzling me.
When I go to iTunes to Sync Calendars I see listed there a couple of unfamiliar entries which include an email address (corresponding to my AppleID) followed by @p22-caldav.icloud.com, all enclosed in square brackets at the end of the calendar name.
I have currently turned off iCloud and would like to get rid of these entries. The named calendars are absent from  both iPod and Mac. They appear on my ios device when I sync to Replace information on this iPod touch during the next sync only.  I can then delete them from  the iPod, but they still appear in the iTunes list.
What/where are these calendars?  How can i remove them from the iTunes Sync Calendar list?
