Why don't PS Elements 12 edited photos properly save in version sets after editing?

This is a problem that never occurred in PS Elements 11. But if I edite a photo that is currently in Organizer with PS Element Editor and save it after editing, it only gets properly included in Organizer and made part of the version set about 20% of the time. The rest of the time the edited file gets saved in the same folder as the original but has not been added to Organizer. The appropriate check boxes in the Save As screen are checked. But 4 out of 5 times it behaves as if the boxes are not checked. I have done several photos in sequence and used the same exact keystrokes and only one or two will be included in the version set. I then have to go "Get" the version and bring it into Organizer and tell the program to Stack the two photos. It is a pain to do it that way. Does anybody have a clue why it is not working as it is suppose to?

Known bug in converted catalogs. It works correctly if you create a new catalog or a workaround for converted catalogs is to kill the ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe process in Task Manager.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

It is hard to insert photos properly in Pages.
I was trying to insert several photos into 1 pages file, but when I moved the photos, these were getting no order.

It was the removal of features that first captured most users' attention, but it has gradually been dawning on people that 1. the software really is shockingly buggy and 2. just not well designed: the new format panel, e.g., is not just a screen-real- estate hog, it makes even the simplest formatting MUCH more difficult. The design for iOS devices is actually much easier to use. Pages for the Mac really is, as one early reviewer put it, an "unmitigated disaster." It is every bit as bad as the Apple Maps app, but I guess no one much cares about word processing, or maybe it's just that most who do use Word. More and more people who used to use Pages will be doing that in the future.

In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

Use iPhoto. What's the problem with iPhoto import? It's a two clicks job. Select your device and click import.

If i edit photos in iphoto, will that carry the editing to the same photos that are in an idvd slideshow?

To carry over to pictures in iDVD - made me assume that there was a project in iDVD that had pictures to whom
an adjustment could be carried over to. And if so - that might be in vain - due to the iDVD BUG that MIGHT also

Elements 11 problem with Saving to Version Set

I have upgraded toElements 11 but when i go to save a file to " save in version set with original" it will not let me, as the tick box is blanked out?

It maybe a question of permissions. Are you running from an administrators account or a user account? If the latter do you have full read/write permissions for the application? What operating system do you have ?
On Windows try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
N.B. on 32 bit systems navigate to Program Files
Right click on each of the new desktop icons and launch by choosing “Run As Administrator”
Keep both applications running but try to edit and save a photo as before.

You're lacking information. We need to know what software you are using what version it is. What computer system and what version is the operating system.

Trying to open file in photoshop elements, only first option available in Edit Photo window. The other two has "Edit a Copy is not applicable to raw or Digital Negative files" same for Edit Original.

Brand new user to Lightroom 5. Was following tutorials and doing fine editing. After done editing NEF files, I'm trying to open them in PSE 11 to further edit. Using the "Edit Photo with Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor". But the window only has the first option available and the other two grayed out. Each of those has "...is not applicable to raw or Digital Negative files." What??

What you've done is hit the wall on is the basic difference between lite duty spot healing and photo level tone and color correction (Lightroom and Camera Raw) and heavy duty pixel retouching in Photoshop.
When you need to substantially manipulate the "pixels" you need Photoshop and you'll be forced to render the raw file into a TIFF or PSD file either through Camera Raw or more better, via Lightroom.
You can do the basic tone and color correction directly in Lightroom and edit in Photoshop from Lightroom. But you will NEED to create and save out a "rendered" image that is no longer raw...then retouch to your heart's desire, save it and it'll be available in Lightroom along side your original raw if you choose.
But no, there's no way to open a raw in Photoshop, manipulate the heck out of it with massive retouching then save that back out as a raw file...ain't gonna happen.

Edit photo and save as original

When I edit a photo (Photos>Edit with Adobe Photoshop CS6), Aperture saves the edited photo (version) to the external HD, along with the original. Is there any way I can keep this from happening, i.e., save ONLY the edited file, keeping the original file name. No, there is no way to prevent the creation of the second quasi master file, sorry. The lossless workflow, that will let you revert to the originally imported version, is one of the most important design features of Aperture, and you cannot disable it. Aperture tries to ensure, that each and every adjustment can be reverted.
Normally this would be no problem, since new versions created with adjustments done in Aperture do not require much extra space, but Aperture has no control over the adjustments done in external editors. That is why the new quasi master will be created in addition to the original image file you imported. Photoshop will modify only this copy and the original is saved.
Your only option to prevent this would be to do all adjustments in Photoshop before you import the image to Aperture. Otherwise you will have to delete the original version manually, just as you described.

Probable has something to do with install of '09 iLife which was installed, but I need to know how to resolve, since I don't want to lose current photos.

Have you opened the Library with a later version?
If not:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Elements 5.0 doesn't save to version set

Hi,
I have been using Elements 5.0 for a while without any problems. Recently it will not allow me to save an edited picture to a version set. It allows me to edit it OK, and it does save, but it doesn't show as a version set. It won't even do it if I force it manually using FILE, SAVE AS and then checking the version set box. My old version sets that I have done previously show up OK, but not the new.
Does anyone have any ideas? Some preference setting somewhere or maybe the program is corrupt?
If I can't get this to work, does anyone know if I will have a problem uninstalling and reinstalling the program? Does it uninstall cleanly or are preferences left behind?

How can I save a version of my edit in FCPX?

I'm coming around on the idea of not needing to save a project in FCPX, but it would still be very helpful to save versions of my edit that I can come back to while I try some other creative ideas. Does anyone know the best way to do this?

Why don't I see a photo tab (camera roll) in icloud

I am switching computers. Going from XP to 7. I am told everything is in icloud but everytime I try to sync in Itunes a message pops up asking to
erase and sync--- will erase the contents of this ipod and replace it with the content of this Itunes library.

I'm trying to configure DHCP reservations and all of the online resources I've found tell you to go to the DHCP Tab under the "Internet" options. Howevever, I don't even see this tab!
Then this would tell us that the AirPort Extreme is in Bridge Mode and it is not configured to be the main router on your network. To confirm, click the Internet Connection Tab. What is the setting that you see for "Connection Sharing"?
There is likely another modem/router device there that you have the AirPort Extreme connected to, correct?
That is the device that must be configured for DHCP Reservations since it is handling the DHCP services for your network.
