Why don't things close the way they're supposed to?
I just reinstalled Leopard, and I'm having the same problem I had the same time - programs don't want to close. I haven't been on Leopard to really know all the particulars, but if I close certain programs, they vanish from view, but they're still running. To REALLY quit, I have to right-click on their icon in the dock and click "Quit."
It happens regularly with Firefox and Thunderbird, my default browser and e-mail client. I opened and closed Safari just now, and it had the same problem. I think it usually happens with Dreamweaver, too.
It isn't a major problem, but it's a pain in the butt when I want to perform an operation that requires me to close all open programs, and I have to go down the dock right-clicking icons. Also, I have had a number of experiences with various software programs that won't even close visibly, especially during the installation and setup process. Sometimes I have to manually turn my computer off.
A little while ago, I tried copying some items from some software installation disks to my external hard drive. I got a message that it couldn't continue because it couldn't read some file, or something like that. So I tried to click it off, but Finder's "Copy" window is still open; it says "Copying 245 items to Websites," which is just what it said an hour ago. How do I close it?
That reminds me - how does one force close Finder in general? If you right-click on the Finder icon in the dock, it never says quit.

Well, I finally gave up and turned off my computer manually. When I turned it back on, I was greeted by the Setup Assistant - over and over - which was the reason I reinstalled Leopard a couple days ago.

action script. Is this a common problem with people trying to do
these tutorials? Also, in many cases the UI just doesn't behave in
the way that the tutorial describes. I'm starting to get pissed off

case of user issue - there's nothing wrong with the tutorial
- it works just fine - out of curiosity
i followed each step and 3 minutes later the button worked
and the text displayed.

Greetings friends,
Here's my issue. Off late (for more than a month or so) I have noticed that a lot of websites that I have visited in the past stop loading after a certain period of interaction with them. For instance if I go to theverge.com and then hit a link of one of the articles. Finish reading that and hit back to go to the home page or even hit the logo to do the same, it will come up with 'Website not found' message. Then sometimes pages render like the screenshot below:
Can someone direct me as to what is causing such a behavior... Is there something I can do.
I have already done the following:
Reset Safari to original state by removing all website data except passwords and pinned pages;
Have restarted my Mac after doing so;it works fine on other browsers like Chrome and Firefox;
Mac is fully updated
Is there something else I can do to avoid such behavior on my Mac... It is not a case of lack of memory either, I have close to 170GB remaining on my 500GB hard drive. It is a MacBook Pro late 2010 model.

SiD...I am having the same issue with Safari not loading the pages properly- started today after the update to 10.9.4 and Safari 7.0.5 (9537.77.4). Pages either won't load and I just get a white background or I get partially loaded pages with Safari but they work fine with Firefox and Chrome. Safari doesn't even function properly on the Apple website- the home page doesn't load completely and in the forums, when clicking on Reply, nothing happens.
When I go to the Develop Menu and click on Show Error Console, some of the pages- Google.com for example- shows an error that the secure page https://www.google.com tried to load insecure content from http://www.googleapis.com... Similar message appears when I go to my bank website and other websites, some are showing (Apple for example) CSS and variable undefined errors.

I play Gardens of Time on Facebook. Now, when I try to send or receive gifts a security warning sign comes up saying the site is not encrypted and a third party will be able to read the info and gives you a choice to continue or not. Click on continue and nothing happens - I still can't send anything and have to exit out because it prevents me from going back into the game.

A side note...I have no problem playing mp4 files from internetarchive.org.
QT on windows has no problem playing files if I save them to disk first...although QT plugin crashes all my windows browsers (ffox, ie) and this didn't use to happen.
I can guarantee no changes to my axis video files...haven't touched the camera for years and I have no problem streaming camera directly, although it is probably mjpeg.

Why don't my photos appear as they do in iPhoto on my Apple Computer. Even though I specify to sync all Events, Faces, etc. the iPad 2 is missing Faces categories and the Events are in a different order.
1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

InDesign CS6 - Default display is high-quality. All four placed images are Illustrator files. Three images look the way they should - high-quality. One image looks pixelated. Why?
Not sure if this will help, but what is your inDesign file's "Transparency Blend Space" set to? It's under the edit menu.
Also, when you are placing your images, are you selecting "Show Import Options" and making any selections there? -
Why don't I see the little plus sign (+)
Why don't I see the little plus sign(+) to the right of an open tab? The one that allows you to open a new tab? I updated two other computers and there's no problem (one is using XP and the other is Windows 7). I can open a new tab by pressing "ctrl t" but I don't want to do it that way.

See if this works for you. Sometimes the problem is caused by a corrupted file.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Why don't you remove the Gd limit for sharing an idea?
I have copied/pasted my original text and suspect will be forced to make it public in mozillaZine or... this limit is extremely annoying! First of all... some search engine? searchqu.com took over Firefox 4.0 and I.E.... after reading in mozillaZine that uninstalling/re-installing FF didn't work, I tried various ideas that were reported to work... none did for me! So I downloaded and installed Google Chrome. Its search engine had been compromised by searchqu.com as well but I was able to set it back to Google.com! Then I discovered that Google Chrome downloaded files 6 times faster than did FF 4.0, FF 3.6 or I.E. 8. So I am going to stick with GC. However, if someone can tell me how to get FF downloading at 15 Mbps like GC... I will be back... it is difficult to leave FF after Netscape>Firebird>Firefox! The upload rate is indeed cut in half... but that will just keep FF installed and used on occasion. I am truly hoping to get a solution to my speed problem... it is indeed a problem only on my computer and my netbook... the speed thing is fine on my wife's computer! ??? This is the only way I could find of informing someone about this weird problem without making it public! But as all can see, I had to go public! :o) By the way... uninstalling Firefox including all data then installing it worked for me! That damn searchqu.com is gone... at least has been for a few hours now!

Apple seems to have been gradually replacing flags with alphabetic symbols wherever possible. Chinese and Japanese have been this way for quite a long time, and in Yosemite I count 30 keyboards (including Greek), nearly half the total, without the flag.
The easiest way to get the Greek flag back would be to download the app Ukelele, which includes copies of the Greek keyboard and the old flag icon, which you can install and use instead of Apple's.

Why don't I see the airplay icon in my settings? I have the ios7 installed now my netflix won't work as need to turn off mirroring..... And the airplay device is not installed.... Anyone help on this?.
Reboot your router. The icon only shows when connected to wifi and Apple TV or similar device. Same thing happened with my phone and the icon appeared in control center after router reboot.

After upgrading to ios7 my Outlook 2010 contacts on my Windows 7 desktop were moved to the cloud. Is there a way I can return Outlook Contacts to the way they were before the upgrade?

JeannetteThis is still pretty annoying. Some of us actually make, and use our own templates. For example, I do tons of product mockups in my day to day and I have a series of basic templates laid out that I use for including the mock up image and the various specifications for each product. It's been super easy, in CS4, to choose file / new from template and just pop my template open. It was even nifty enough that Bridge would redirect to my templates folder for me.
Sure, I know I can still save my templates to another folder and use them as I always have, but the question is why would they just remove this? For all of the bloat that Adobe constantly adds on to this suite of applications, year after year, why on earth would they just remove a simple, useful, entirely unobtrusive feature such as file / new from template? -

I have a Google sprite 'thing' in the way on my google homepage.
This ONLY happens in Firefox, no other browser does this.
Going to www.google.co.uk I see a stupid looking 'thing' at the centre left of the page, hovering slightly over, and in the way of the search box.
Hover on the 'thing' and I see a url; of www.google.co.uk/webhp@hl=en. Clicking it does nothing, I'd like to remove it.
Does anyone know what this is caused by?
Done the ususal Cache clear and AV checks.
Help or suggestions appreciuated. I could do a screenshot (if I knew how to add)

Does Adobe Send allow you to select how many days your files can be downloaded - as with Adobe Send Now? Also, why don't I see the virus scanning message any longer with "Send" versus "Send Now"?
We relied upon the "days available for download" to get people to take
action more quickly. The "virus scanning" progress bar was simply another
way of knowing this activity was actually taking place - unless this is
written somewhere in the Adobe Send User Guide.....wherever that is.

I Have a Mac 10.9.5 I have Photoshop CS 5.. Also have Photoshop CC. As of last month was able to edit any image with either program,as of today I can't edit images in either program.
