Why Firefox netspeed is extremely slow, other browsers work well.
Firefox incoming netspeed is slow, only 1-4 Mb, should be 24Mb without loss.
All other browser shows 18-20 Mb.
Uninstall and reintall does not solve the problem, done several times.
F-Secure have been driven several times, no help.
F-Secure setup also checked.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Try to boot the computer in Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works better.

Firefox works fine and is my preferred browser, but after I connect an ipod to my computer it will not load. Even after the ipod has been removed firefox will still not load until the pc is restarted.
Open the Windows Task Manager > Processes Tab and see if there is a '''firefox.exe''' process running, when you can't open Firefox and you find it necessary ti restart your PC. When you try to open Firefox and a firefox.exe process is "hung", you should get a warning message that ''' "Firefox is already running" '''.

Firefox 4 is extremely slow to perform any function on my lap top compared to previous versions. Why? And how do I change this!
Firefox 21 and Firefox 22 running on Windows 7 have been reported to take a long time to "wake up" from sleep. I realize hibernation is different than sleep, but... this is the closest match for your description.
Some users have reported that this problem is resolved in Firefox 23 (currently in beta). Others have had inconsistent luck with minimizing Firefox before letting Windows sleep and other measures.
Please check out this (very long) thread for more information: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/961898 browser freezes after resuming from sleep]
Or jump to the part about Firefox 23: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/961898?page=3#answer-457321
The fact that this just started recently suggests perhaps it is related to another program or update, but I don't think anyone has confirmed the exact interaction that causes the problem. -
[solved] Opera, firefox and wget extremely slow (dial-up style)
Hi there,
this is the first time i've tried Arch Linux (64bit), so bare with me please if i've got something stupidly wrong.
The Problem: Both Opera and Firefox are both extremly slow when opening websites. It "feels" like some kind of DNS problem, because the initial time before anything loads is quite long, but after that it goes quite quickly (though still a bit sluggish).
But here's the catch: Ping and loading websites in links work both perfectly fast.
For example accessing google.com in firefox: 40 seconds until page is loaded. In links about 1 second.
Wget seems to suffer from the same problem:
wget google.com
--2008-12-22 03:29:23-- http://google.com/
Resolving google.com...
It just takes a lot of time.
Can anyone help me with this?
Last edited by Deathcrow (2008-12-22 12:48:26)Ok, i had a hunch:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IPv … the_Module
Adding the line to modprobe.conf solved the Opera and Firefox issues.
The behaviour of wget stays the same. Its still very very slow.
Programs that seem to be affected:
-wget
- ssh
- openntpd
Edit: Alright, the remaining issues were real network issues on my side. They are fixed now.

My Firefox ver. 3.6 stopped loading pages of any kind. Even Google or Facebook! I don't know how this happened. May it is because I tried to download a program that didn't even open up.... But I don't know how to make it work. All other browsers work normally, and I'm scanning for viruses even though my anti-virus did not warn me of anything... I tried to download a keygen and this is what happened. I can't figure out what it is. Not a connection problem. I even tried to uninstall an re-install firefox, but still nothing worked.
Your issue may be caused by Malware. You can run and update the following '''free''' anti virus software:
1. Malwarebytes (Free version) - http://www.malwarebytes.org
2. Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org
3.Spyware Terminator - http://www.spywareterminator.com
In addition, there are a number of forums you can use to help get rid of your infection. These include:

How export to csv work in safari browser?
In my application export to csv open like a raw data in new tab.
But other browsers working great!.
Need to open in a csv file or save it as a csv file.
Please suggest me. Thank you in advance!.Hi Adrian,
Why don't you try any another software for opening CSV files then Notepad ? According to my experience, you can use these softwares to open an CSV files and they are:-
Microsoft Excel
Open Office Calc
Google Docs
Also there is an additional tool available known as CSV viewer. You may try this, download it from here http://www.csvviewer.com/
I've never used Notepad for opening CSV files, because sometimes it contains some symbols which are not not at all compatibile with Notepad.

The wireless connection to the printer is either extremely slow or not working at all on OS X Yosemite. It shows up in the list of printers in Bonjour in Safari, and I can connect to parts of the web interface if I wait a very long time. However, I cannot add the printer as a new printer in System Preferences even though the printer shows up.
I have upgraded to the latest firmware. The WiFi indicator on the printer is on, "green", and it has a reserved IP showing up in my router (ComCast). It seems that Windows machines can printer to the printer wirelessly without a problem.
Any help appreciated.
Stephen
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hello @sscotti,
I would like to assist you today with installing your wireless HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer on your Mac OS X 10.10 Computer. Now you indicate in your post that this printer works fine with Windows computers, and you are able to 'see' the Bonjour printer on your Mac. Therefore, the issue that you are experiencing is not network related. Rather, I do believe that you are experiencing a driver conflict on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. Can I please have you run the steps below to resolve this issue.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
First, I'm going to have you 'clean up' your Mac OS X 10.10 computer to verify that any trace of your Laserjet printer is gone so we have a nice clean slate to work with. Please click here and when the website opens select the drop down for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' as the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10. Run the appropriate uninstall steps for the method in which you originally tried to install your printer: Apple Updates, or the HP Driver download.
Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
Go to the Utilities Folder
Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
Go to Apple
Select System Preferences
Select Software Update
Click Update Now
Install your available updates
Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Please click here to download the appropriate Mac OS X 10.10 drivers for your HP Laserjet printer.
Once the website opens select the 'download' button on the top left
Once the download has completed, please follow the onscreen steps to reinstall your printer.
Once the reinstall is complete, test the print and scan functions to ensure that your printer is functioning as per normal.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Should you still be experiencing issues there are additional steps I can have you run through. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck!

iTunes download is extremely slow or not working, am I the only one experiencing this, iTunes download is extremely slow or not working, am I the only one experiencing this?
I do not have a solution, just the same complaint. ***! ! I just used the iTunes store 2 weeks ago and now, after reviewing everything they asked for including ID/Pass/ Account Info etc. I can't even get into the store. I have tried asking at the Mac store and it has all been to no avail. I was perfectly happy with iTunes before all of this ********... seriously what is the issue with iTunes? They ask me to upload a new version (with no system specs anywhere that I can find on the page) and then say it can't utilized because of system inadequacy. It is exceedingly frustrating.

Firefox keeps crashing my entire computer if i pull down the scroll bar too fast or go to websites that use flashplayer and sometimes for no reason at all. My other browsers work fine and firefox did till the update.
There has been a security update of the Flash Player and the current version is 10.1 r85 , so you are two versions behind (previous was 10.1 r82).
See http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ -
My frustrations with firefox continue to mount. All the supposed fixes are a waste of time. There is obviously a major code problem that needs to be addressed. Your solutions that you post just seem to be the same and never work. Users are not programmers and should not be expected to do your troubleshooting. I have been running a comparison lately using four different browsers to play a popular facebook game (Trainstation). (All browsers at the latest version)
1. Firefox
2. Internet Explorer
3. Google Chrome
4. Opera
to do the exact same thing in the game firefox was taking 20 to 30 seconds to complete (about half of the time completely freezing for several minutes.) where the next slowest browser (I.E.) was taking 2-3 seconds whilst opera was the fastest at almost instant, chrome almost as fast.
Firefox is also slow to load any page in general regardless of flash content.
Frequently I get "not responding" at the top of the window.
My system is a new Dell Inspiron with Intel Core I5 processor @ 2ghz and 6GB Ram, about 300GB free hard disk space. Windows 8.1
The game played requires the latest flash version which does not work on LINUX. However the linux firefox version is much faster. Perhaps there is a direct link for conflict with windows 8.1
Firefox also seems to have a memory leak, resources get dramatically worse if the browser is open for many hours. (this is not a problem with other browsers in general, except I.E. which exhibits this problem as well to a lesser degree. The freezing issue has also been a problem with Thunderbird lately as well, I do not have another e-mail client installed to compare to.I have tried that already, I have seen that response in more than one forum in the past and it does not do anything. I also for the test of it, upgraded to the v29 beta version. Still is slow (not just the game i was playing which is on face book but also on the game developers site directly as well (http://portal.pixelfederation.com/trainstation/), using either does not matter as far as performance of the game. All sites and browsing is slower, as is startup loading my home page which is just google.com. I remember when firefox used to be blazing fast compared to others. I have also tried recreating a new profile, didn't help. tried a complete removal (including registry entries and all files, then a new fresh install, didn't help. someone on another forum suggested several tweaks in the about:config area, didn't help. something has changed dramatically in the last four or five versions. New firefox isnt loading web pages, other browsers do! What's wrong?
None of my pages are loading, giving me the "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.whatever.com" - yet (obviously) I can get other browsers to work.
So now what? why the hell is the new browser broken? It was working last night just fine, before I shut down the computer.
''moderator edited the title of this thread''You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

Firefox program is extremely SLOW.
I have used Firefox for a long time. I don't know what happened lately, but my Firefox is extremely SLOW. Takes minutes to change or to move to another item or chose another TAB. For awhile the screen would get weak and fad almost blank. When logging in to Firefox, it takes 4 to 5min. for Firefox to become active. My wife uses Internet Exp. That browser works good for her. I also, have Google Chrome and it works OK.
I too am having this problem. Or it just freezes. What the hell? I thought updates were suppose to be an improvement, not a back step. What can I do to solve this problem? I'm getting really ticked.
