Why i am unable to catch the 'TAB' key press?

hi
i have an application where i have 2 text fields and one button in order say t1, t2 and b1.
on tabbing t1 cursor moves to t2 and on tabbing t2 cursor moves to b1 and on tabbing b1 cursor moves to t1.
now when i press tab button on any of the component i have written a keyListener for that to catch 'TAB' key using the comparision
if( e.getKeyCode() == KeyEvent.VK_TAB )
but its not catching the tab key pressed on any of these 3 components....
why like this...
i want to catch the press of 'TAB' key and write some action for it... but unable to catch the 'TAB' key press.
anyone could help me in this....

I seem to remember this question being asked before. I think the answer was that the FocusManager intercepts the TAB key. I don't remember the solution but you can try searching the forum.

Why do I have to use the tab key even more to tab between page elements.

Firefox versions prior to ver 4 I used the tab key to tab between page elements (form elements, buttons, etc). I upgraded to ver 4 and now when I tab from form element to form element I first see a gray line outlining the element area and then another press of the tab the element becomes active for me to use. I now have to use double the tab keys to move between form elements.

Duplicating the tab key

Does anyone know how to duplicate the tab key on the right side of the keyboard (say by using F13-F19)?? I still want the normal tab key to work as well. Thanks

Maybe I didn't word it well. No, there is no tab key on the right side, but I would like to have one on the right side. That's why I would like to duplicate the tab key on the left side with a key that does the same function on the right like one of the higher F-keys.

Why can't I use the tab key to highlight links on a webpage?

In previous versions of FF and in other browsers, I can use the tab key to navigate through all the links on a webpage - I can't seem to do this with FF5, the tab key will only highlight the address bar, search bar, and any form fields within a webpage.

It can be fixed in Mac OS X Tiger preferences (Keyboard -> "all controls") or try a ctr-F7

Hi,
Management is thinking for implementing New G/L in my Company and we have to prepare the presentation for that. I am not sure of few points though I have searched already but unable to find out anything which clears my doubts which are as follows:
1) Can we implement new G/L In-house or do we have to get it done from external sources or SAP only?
2) Can we achieve IFRS and GAAP reporting through segment reporting in house or not. Does that require any other cost as we are already on ECC6.0 but new g/l is not activated?
3) Is it mandatory to get the Data Migration done from SAP or can we do it In-house as well?
4) If one knows the approx. cost if we get it done from external sources at each point on in total at all the above mentioned points?
5) Is it so that partially we can do it and partially we need to take the help of the external sources?

Why can't I type in text fields without first hitting the Tab Key?

I have Version 32.0.1700.77 running on a Mac. This problem started with Firefox a little while back and no amount of updates or uninstalling/reinstalling has fixed it. And therefore I have switched to Chrome.
When using Firefox, any text field, including the address bar, will not allow me to type into it. I will get a BONK sound. Once I hit the Tab Key, I can begin typing. But if I stop typing and click any other area, then come back to the text field, I must again hit the Tab Key. Or if I want to edit the text field, I can highlight a word, but for it to delete, I have to hit the tab Key then hit Delete.
Why is it doing this?

I did a rough mix and now cannot change the song as the tracks that were a part of the rough mix seem to remain in the song even though I mute the tracks for a new mix. For instance, I played and recorded a different bass line. Muted the original, but when trying to create the new mix I can hear the original bass line even though I have muted that track. It seems to remain in the previous master (default) track. Please send help. Thank you.

Before answering your question, you have to make sure you understand the difference between the different track types in GarageBand.
Tracks, you record your music on
There are three types of those Tracks.
MIDI Tracks (aka Software Instrument Tracks)
Audio Tracks (aka Real Instrument Tracks)
Drummer Track (only one per Project)
Global Tracks
These are the Tracks that can be shown/hidden at the top of the Tracks Area for specific purposes.
Arrangement Track
Movie Track
Transposition Track
Tempo Track
Master Track
This Track can also be shown/hidden in the Tracks Area. Please note, you cannot delete that Track, only hide it, similar to the Global Tracks
Regarding the Tracks you record your music on, you can delete any of those. It doesn't matter if you created them or there are part of a Template (maybe that is what you refer to as the default track). Once you delete the last Track, the "New Track Window" will pop up to add a new track.
I will explain all that in much more detail in my manual "GarageBand X - How it Works".

Unable to catch the error pls help

Catching a KeyEvent from the TAB key...

Well it does not appear to send any KeyEvents to my KeyListener...
any reason for this? and is there any fix to do?
I need a special tab completion feature for my application and need to catch the KeyEvent for the tab key.

It has to do with the focus-model. In this case both, ALT-events and TAB-events are send, but not if they are pressed together. The reason is that when they are pressed together the focus traverses to the next window (on win98 it does).

The "TAB" key will not move the cursor from field to field with Firefox 17 in MAC OS 10.8. You have to use the mouse to click on the new field to move the cursor.

to enter data in fields in forms and even in the search bar I have to press the tab key. If i do not press tab the silly mac beeps at me and won't let me type. I asked the mac geniuses and they blame firefox, guessing you guys will blame mac... but it is really annoying.
