Why do I have to sign into iBooks every time I want to read, especially if I'm in the middle of a book.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Anyway, for Safari on an iPad tap on the two squares on the left side of the Safari screen. Then on the word Private.
If Safari is in the Dark theme, its in Private mode. If its in the White theme, then its in regular non Private mode.

Why does the latest version of HP Support Assistant crash every time I try to use it?

I have an HP 6730f desktop with Windows 7 preinstalled. Recently, I was advised to upgrade the HP Support Assistant program by HP through an update message. Upon doing so, I am unable to start the program without an error message that states that a serious problem has occurred and the program must close. I have since uninstalled the program entirely. I would, however, be satisfied with the Support Assistant that came with the computer, but wonder why the updated version does not work...?

Have you tried reinstalling the program since uninstalling? It could of just been a bad install that required needing to uninstall / reinstall.

Do I have to restart ALSA every time I want to use HDMI?

I wasn't getting any sound from my TV when I plugged in my HDMI cable, so I followed this part of the alsa wiki page:

So, I have this .asoundrc file that tells ALSA to output to the HDMI device. Now it will output to the TV just fine. But if I want to have sound on my laptop again, I have to delete this file (or rename it) and restart ALSA.
Do I just have to keep moving this file and restarting ALSA or is there a way to change the output device while ALSA is running?
If there isn't, will PulseAudio accommodate this?

It's not necessary to restart ALSA.
Apps are supposed to provide the ability to change PCM during runtime themselves, which unfortunately is not as common as we'd like. So restart the app. Depending on the change you've made to ~/.asoundrc, you will probably need to close the other apps that currently have ALSA open - see them with:
fuser -fv /dev/snd/* /dev/dsp* 2>/dev/null
I must be more KISS than Arch - none of pulseaudio, esound, jack or KDE mixer exist on my system - it's just plain ALSA
Oh, and to change between HDMI and your laptop, use a script.

I am getting this error message “Error communicating with Adobe.com (Error 107). Restart Adobe Download Assistant and try to add the product again.” Fix it please. You are causing me a big inconvenience.
I see why people pirate online software when you have to go thought this, maybe if Adobe learns that making it hard for people to download their products, people go somewhere else, they should make it easy like how people pirate online software.

Staying signed in at iCloud.com is not a problem for me. Try resetting your browser or emptying its cache.

Yikes, I know how important it is to have the bluetooth working with out any issues, jwennrn. Are you still trying to use the bluetooth with the Droid Razr Maxx or with a different phone? Some advice from various locations on the web (use google). Each works for some users, not all. Give these a try.
Try to deauthorize the computer then authorize it.
select song or app. that's not authorized, itunes will ask for your password, enter password, click ok, and ok again. Done.
I had the same problem when I switched from my laptop to a macbook. What I figured out was that I had purchased applications under two different email addresses. You can click on one of the applications that is not syncing and go to "File" then "Get Info" to find out what email address you used to purchase those applications. Hopefully this helps.

Have to restart iTunes EVERY time I want to stream to Apple TV!

I have the 2012 Apple TV and while Netflix, Youtube, etc. normally work well, I have to restart iTunes EVERY time I want to stream to Apple TV! My iMac is always on and the newest version of iTunes is always running. It doesn't seem to matter if the iMac is in sleep mode or not, and I have a very strong wifi signal coming from my Airport Express. Every time - not sometimes - I want to access music, TV shows or movies in iTunes on Apple TV, it says my library is loading, or cannot connect. Every time. What can I do?

WC, When I use the term Home Sharing it is perhaps a little oversimplified, it is quiet impractical and often overkill to continually restate the complete sequence of events that led me to 'a fix', however, I did not suddenly one day find a problem, switch to wi-fi and find all was well. There was significant investigation done on my part to try to find a solution. if by me saying I moved to wifi and it worked, others can move to wifi and have a fix, great. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel here, others much cleverer than me are looking at that...
I had a functioning setup over wired until approx 2 months ago with an ATV2 connecting to Imac library, I was at the time occasionally running some software that restarted itunes once finished which may have masked the problem if it was there, unlikely though. I purchased an ATV3 with a new TV, this upon installation required an ios update much the same time as the itunes update.
I noticed the white light on the atv3 flashing when it was asleep, this was not something i had seen on the atv2, Investigation suggested this was normal behaviour, I remain unconvinced of this.
from that point on 'Home Sharing' did not work until a restart of itunes, it would then work all night (6+ hours)
My mac was set to sleep over night, I tried turning that off-no difference, turned ip6 off-no difference, once it hangs other devices on the network are unable to see the itunes lib, iphone, ipad,MBP etc
Once the thing hangs, Netstat shows a massive quantity of open ports 100/150+ to each on/sleeping atv, a restart of itunes clears this lot. with wired, these connections start to build again, with wireless not so much.
looking back on here shows folks have had this problem in various guises since early 2011, apple by their own admission state the last update 'fixes some issues with Home Sharing', it seems it introduced some for me...
I am quite sure some peoples problems are down to underlying network problems however this is supposed to be 'Home Sharing' it shouldnt need a degree in computer science to configure, it should just work.
I am not about to pull my network apart to troubleshoot any further, between mac & atv's there are 2 x Giga/switches(netgear) and an Airport Extreme(bridged), the atv cable was plugged into the A.Ex no dice and now connects w/less to the same box and works fine...
