Hey There.
In this pic http://3gweek.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/iphone3greal.jpg it shows a pic of the 3G Badge with a background. How come in New Zealand it not Show the background

I think they removed that blue background in an update a while back. I am in the US and the "3G" is blue or white depending on the background of the top information bar. Try searching for a picture of the newest software and it should look like yours.

Use the color fill option - select the inserted .pdf and assign a fill color of white to it using the Color Fill Menu on the Toolbar or the Color Picker Palette.

PNGs showing up with white backgrounds

Hello.
This is very odd as this has never happened to any of my other files that use the same buttons. My pngs that are saved with transparent backgrounds are now showing up with white backgrounds. They also only show up with white backgrounds when you do one of the following:
Press F8 to preview the file
Publish the file
Has anyone else ever had a similar experience and/or figured out a solution? I have searched the discussion board for similiar experiences...I found one...http://forums.adobe.com/thread/86092. I'm going to play around with "interlace" in Photoshop so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I have also ensured my graphics are smaller than the background--one graphic is an 8kb file and the other is a 13kb file and my background is 112 kb.
Any solutions and/or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

IPhone 4S New Zealand - will it work ok?

Hi there. Does anyone know whether the iPhone 4S will work ok in New Zealand? I am currently traveling and want to purchase an unlocked version in the US in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately the 4S is not available to buy in NZ yet. Thank you.

Should work, yes, especially if it's unlocked. When you take it to NZ, pop in a SIM card and it should work.

Is it possible to purchase an iPhone say from United Kingdom and then bring it to New Zealand and have it set up on the Vodafone network?
I would really like this for christmas but it won't get here in New Zealand for ages!

In a word, no.
The iPhone is sold in the U.S. as carrier locked with AT&T only and is sold in the UK as carrier locked with O2 only, in Germany with T-Mobile and in France with Orange along with an unlocked model sold at an extremely higher price - Apple must also sell an unlocked iPhone model in France due to French law. Due to a court injunction by Vodafone in Germany, Apple and T-Mobile were forced to sell an unlocked version for a brief period of time until Vodafone's case was not ruled in their favor but many that purchased an unlocked iPhone in Germany who live in a country where the iPhone is not being sold are having problems with it.
Long story short, it would be bad for you to spend that kind of money on an unlocked iPhone in France only to discover it doesn't work properly in New Zealand since Apple isn't selling the iPhone there. Unlocked should mean unlocked regardless but the difference in cost between the two versions in France is significant.
The only other option is purchasing a phone from the UK and using an available hack to unlock it which will be another purchase but this voids the warranty along with no support from Apple since it is a violation of Apple's software license agreement and would prevent you from installing any future iPhone updates provided by Apple. The most recent update when installed rendered these hacks and the iPhone useless but Apple included a warning with the update for those who used a hack to unlock their iPhone or purchased it from a 3rd party already hacked at a marked up price.
Apple hasn't mentioned Australia or New Zealand - only parts of Asia is expected to have the iPhone available sometime in 2008 but which countries this will include and when has not been announced by Apple yet nor their plans for any additional countries in 2008 and beyond.
As hard as it might be, I would wait - maybe next Christmas or possibly sooner.

A Reset often sorts out problems but since you have already restored it I would be inclined to make an ppointment with Apple with a view to 'a fix' or a replacement. if the Apple store is not convenienly located, and you are still within the 90 day free technical support, I would start by contacting them.
[Reset - Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way. It is app and data safe!]

I know how you feel. Your MacBook Pro has integrated graphics 384 MB or 512 MB. If you are a gamer, creative professional or just want more VRAM get a 15 inch MacBook Pro with up to 1 gig of VRAM or a windows gaming laptop with up to 16 gigs of VRAM (a ridiculous amount!). If you get a windows pc, you can always install virtual box. There is no point in buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro unless you need a lightweight laptop with all of the extra "goodies". There is also no possible way to change the graphics unless you know how to "unhook" the card from the processor and install a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Macbook Pro boot shows black screen with white text cursor

I have a MacBook Pro 7,1 MC374xx/A running Mavericks. My box has two internal hard drives in it. One had the Mac OS installed to it, and the other has absolutely nothing on it. I decided to give Boot Camp Assistant a try and chose the hard drive with nothing on it to install Windows on. I also had an external USB DVD drive attached with the Windows 7 installation disc on it.
So, next thing ya know, my Mac reboots and loads a black screen that says "Memory Overload." I take out the external USB drive and restart. Then it said, "No boot devices found." Now for whatever reason, it's just a black screen with a white text cursor.
What the heck happened?
I selected command R and confirmed that I installed Boot Camp on the right hard drive (the drive that did not contain my Mac OS). Then, I completely erased everything from the drive with Boot Camp on it. But still..black screen with white text cursor.
I have no Time Machine backups available so I'm forced to reinstall the OS. Any idea why this happened? It seems I must have attempted to install Boot Camp improperly. Any ideas or instructions on what to do now or how to install Boot Camp successfully on the Macbook Pro I own?

Confirmed solution from Apple:
You need to do a full OS restore through iTunes on your phone. You can then restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup to be back in business. It *****, but that's the only solution right now.

If you have the purchases on your computer, copy them from there.
If not, go into the iTunes Store on your iPhone and tap the More button at the bottom, then the Purchased section above, then Music, and there is a section called Not on this iPhone where you can redownload.

Using a UK iPhone in New Zealand

I've had the phone unlocked by Vodafone but I keep being told different things about what I then need to - has anyone actually done this who can confirm what you need to do? Do you need to restore the software when you put the new SIM in? If so did you need to connect to iTunes to do that? I've been told that I may need to connect to my usual computer and do it while I'm in the UK! Very confusing!! Thanks

Towards the end of the Restore process you should receive a Message informing you your Device is Unlocked and then you can either Restore from Backup or as New and Sync your Content.

Why aren't new photos I take showing up in new Photos for Mac? (They are in iCloud photo library)

all software up to date. did iPhoto to iCloud photo library transfer move and activated it both on phone and laptop. (was in beta on phone even from weeks ago)
only way to get photos on the laptop is to plug in usb and snyc manually. i assume it's suppose to just be able to sync wirelessly just like iPhoto did with photo stream? at least from all I've read it will do that and a lot more. thanks.

Sorry no answers here but the exact same problem. New to MAC as well and the guys at the store told me the MAC should be seeing it no problem. Sorry you are having the issue but glad I am not the only one. If I find a solution somewhere else I will try to post it here for you.

Why doesn't new ACR 8.2 show up in my CC update list?

ACR 8.2 has been out over a day, but neither my Creative Cloud updater nor my Photoshop CC update panel indicate its existence. Shouldn't that happen automatically? and, if so, when?
Do I have to download and update manually?

I thank you for your efforts, Ashutosh, but, as I hope you can see from the prior posts in this thread, your advice has already been seen to be inapplicable. I wish it were all as simple as you make out.
I am supposed to be getting a call from an Adobe tech (higher up the chain) on this matter. In the meantime, however, since my CS6 ACR did update to 8.2, I have copied it over to CC, and it's working fine. But one shouldn't have to do that. The tech who "escallated" my case to the higher up tech was told that this was a problem a number of people had encountered, and they were working on it.
Rather generally, the CC updater needs to have a button or menu item added to force recognition of (sync-ing with) what apps are located on the machine. At the moment, it appears to know an app is resident only if (and when) it installs the app. If, for some reason, it loses track of the apps it has installed, it ceases to check for updates for those apps. That's really very silly and most unrobust. There should be means for adding apps to the update check list and means for forcing an update even when the updater indicates an app is "up to date." The fact that it says it is up to date is not a positive indication that it is. This is true both for the CC desktop updater and the apps' own build-in update panel (Help->Update).
