Why is the battery on my iPhone 4 draining while it is shut off?!

.  Anybody know why my battery on iphone4 is draining overnight while it is shut off?  I turn my phone off each night.  Last night it was at 45% when I turned it off.  This morning it was completely drained.  I,ve noticed the last few days it is loosing power rapidly.
Thanks

It sound to me like your battery had developed an internal short and is draining itself It can happen to these batteries.  it can happen to any rechargable battery that i know of.

  • Why is the battery on my iphone running out so quickly

Since the last update my iphone runs out of battery power in half the time it used to. I have followed all the advice about turning off anything that consumes energy but it has had no effect. I also keep getting a no service message which can only be fixed by resetting my next work connections.. I am starting to lose  my enthusiasm for apple and I think my next phone will be an android. Can anyone suggest how to get my battery power consumption back to normal?

If you have already followed all these suggestions ...

  • Since my last software update 15 feb 13, the battery on my iphone 4s drains very and unusually fast.

As above i had had troubles since the last update of the phone software. the battery drains incredibly fast. the phone has also started turning itself off even though it has had a over 30% charge in it.
is there any way to stop this or is it a problem with the update?
    any suggestions welcome.
    thanks

A simple search of the forums would have revealed that after EVERY iOS update there are reports of battery issues.
That same search would have revealed that basic troubleshooting as described in the User's Guide resolves the vast majority of battery issues.

  • Why does the battery on my ipod touch drain so fast?

I barely have an hour of battery life using my ipod touch.  I will only be listening to music and all of a sudden there is no battery left.  What can I do to fix this?

Make sure things like wi-fi, bluetooth, and location services are turned off. Also, if you listen with the screen on, battery drains faster, so you should always sleep the iPod when using it for music.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why is the battery on my macbook air draining so fast?

    Hi there:
I have a 2 week new Macbook Air 13'', mid 2013 model. Yesterday, after being prompted to update to the latest of Mavericks, i have unplugged the laptop and left it in sleep mode. Overnight it went from 100% charged to 0.
    Has anyone experienced something similar?
Any help, or advice are appreciated.

You have a 14 day exchange period.  Take care of that now before time runs out.
100 to 0 overnight on sleep shouldn't happen.
However dont leave your Air on sleep overnight, turn it off.

  • HT4528 Why is the new upgrade draining the battery on my iPhone 5?

The battery on my iPhone dies so fast now. I always turn off all my apps, I have turned off everything that everyone has suggested, and it still dies. I cannot be without a charger. I have to charge my phone twice a day.

Go to the apple store and find out what is wrong.

How can I remove the battery from my iphone and ipad?

The iPhone and iPad do not have user serviceable batteries. Battery replacement is handled by Apple. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar if battery replacement is required.

  • The battery on my iphone 4s is broken, will the apple store be able to replace it for me? will there be a cost? i have had my phone for 2 years. it is a pay as you go

i think the battery on my iphone 4s is broken, my phone was taking hours to charge and now it wont charge at all, my phone has been dead for the past 3 days. would my local apple store be able to replace it for me? if so will there be a cost? my phone is 2 years old but in good condition. it is pay as you go. at first i thought my charger was broke, so i bought a new one. but it is definetly my phone battery.

Not at an Apple Store, and if the iPhone is no longer under warranty, there is a cost.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • On my iPhone 5, the battery symbol and percentage won't change, even while charging or during usage throughout the day. The battery is however charging and draining properly from what I can tell.

Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?
    Thanks

    Try this
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time

  • Why is the "other" on my iphone take up so much space?

Why is the "other" on my iphone take up so much space?

"Other" contains objects that are not categorized elsewhere.  It includes, for example, iOS, mail messages, and working space.
If "Other" is more than about 1.5 gigabytes, that would be considered a lot of space.  That is often caused by corrupt app(s).
You can shrink "Other" by restoring your iPhone using iTunes.  Plug your iPhone in, let it sync, then choose "Restore" from your iPhone's summary page in iTunes.  You can try restoring from the backup, but that may not work.  If not, restore as new and selectively sync apps back.
