Why is the newest version of Firefox crashing constantly? Will not load or takes forever to load a page? I never had this problem before. This is very frustrating.

I think my question is very clear. Do I need to use another browser? I've been using Firefox for a long time. I don't have the time to waste.

This can happen if you've zoomed the page. That effects the screen dimensions as reported by JavaScript and seems to confuse Yahoo.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

My emails no longer show up unless I go to the mail app manually. Never had a problem before this. Help! I have shut off phone I have tried to change the time for how long the mail will show up but nothing is working

Do you mean you don't get notified of new emails automatically (eg. on the Lock Screen)?  This could be because this function is turned off in Settings > Notifications.  It could also be that the email account you use is having problems with its PUSH service, if it offers one.

  • Why is the newest version of Firefox 75% slower to load all pages than my previous version?

I downloaded the newest version of this browser Monday or Tuesday, and ever since it replaced my previous version of Firefox, my webpage loading has been like molasses in January, I sit and wait and wait and wait! It's infuriating, this sudden logjam of browsing is pushing me to install Windows Explorer, with all it's humongous security holes! I need to go back to my previous Firefox, but since this new version has erased that one, I don't know if I can.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

  • I downloaded the new version of Firefox and it will not open certain of the addresses that I use to run my business. How can I delete this version and go back to the previous version? thank you

I would like to revert back to the previous version of Firefox. Please tell me how to do this

hello and thank you for your suggestion. I have tried it and, when trying to open a program which I previously was able to, still get the following message:
    Remote XUL
This page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Seems unbelievable that I previously had no problem and now I do. Have you any suggestions to overcome this? Do you think I can go back further in Firefox history to get a version that will make it possible to access this. Many thanks! Lynn

  • Why does the latest version of firefox crash on my windows 7 64 bit system? in English

I've used Firefox forever, swear by it. The past few times I've installed the latest version, my computer comes to a SLOW crawl and CRASHES repeatably. I uninstall and re-install 3.6.24 and every thing works fine. I constantly get reminders that I'm using the older version and to update. I refuse to because it turns my system into a glorified paper weight. Any idea why this might happen?

Sorry I didn't get a crash report. My computer would just come to a complete stand still. No reports, nothing. I've installed it at lease three times now, and each time it does the same thing. I have to do a hard reboot, uninstall and re-install the 3.6.24 version and it works fine. I posted the question to see if anyone else has experience the same problems. I could try it again to see if I get a crash report. I would have to do this over the weekend as I use this computer for my business.
I appreciate your response and sorry I didn't have a report for you. I'll keep you informed as to what takes place when I try to re-install.
    Thanks again

  • Why is the newest version of Firefox not compatible with Java ? All my java extensions are disabled !

I can't be entirely certain of the origin of this issue, but I've tried everything I can think of and the only thing I can nail down is that Firefox 6.0.1 is incompatible with Java. All of my extensions have been disabled without the option of even trying to enable them.
Now for the ACTUAL problem...this affect my Google/GMAIL experience and I use GMAIL for my business! The calendar used to display various mailboxes with different colours to identify different types of individuals and the Google Menu Bar on their homepage is not black, like it should be, it is TRANSPARENT with blue lettering. I can read the menu bar just fine, but the GMAIL thing is kind of important to my business!
I've tried the GMAIL forums to no avail...I've tried to uninstall Java [it wouldn't...just crashed and said there was an error...]. I even re-installed Java, but nothing changed!
I have also tried other browsers and they do the same thing, so I can't just pin it on Firefox, but I am hoping that someone here will have a good, working solution for me.
    Thanks,
    Dave

OK, I'll try removing all of the extensions but that doesn't explain why my GMAIL and various other JAVA related [I'm assuming] things are not displaying properly. I even went as far as to replace my video card and download the most up to date drivers...still no change, but I will try removing all of the disabled extensions.
Thanks and if anyone has any other ideas I'd love to hear them
    Dave

  • The new version of Firefox, 18.02, will not load any pages. Why not?

I attempted to open Firefox and was told it would load when the updates were applied, which was nothing new. It loaded fine and there were no incompatible add-ons, but it will not load any web pages. I'm on the same computer using Chrome to send this message. Everything was working fine in release 18.01.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

  • I have a password manager built into my fingerprint scanner. It worked on the older version of Firefox but it will not on this new version. It will not recognize log in pages and will not load information.

With the old version, all I had to do was go to the log in page to any of my email accounts or membership sites and scan my finger. It would fill in the fields and open my account. I like this new version of Firefox, but if I am not able to use that password manager then I will have to install the older version.

A 2008 black MacBook can run OS X Lion (OS X 10.7). However, if you want to use that Mac for apps that do not work with the new MacBook, I recommend you to leave it with Mac OS X 10.6.8, because OS X Lion removes compatibility with PowerPC apps.
Do not worry about the battery of the new MacBook Pro. You can replace it yourself or take it to an Apple Store or reseller, and the cost is similar. However, it's important to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller if your Mac's battery fails while the Mac is in warranty, because you will get the battery replaced for free.

  • I run Windows 7 and the newest version (10.6) of iTunes will not install. The installer won't even begin, and when I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature.

When I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature and will not be downloaded. When I DL iTunes64setup.exe, the program will not start (there's a bar that flashes but nothing actually begins). I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows to fix this (system resore, unistalling all Apple products, taking down firewall, running Windows FixIt - which either won't find the problem or gives me an error saying that the troubleshooter cannot be downloaded at this time, going into the security features to allow programs without valid signatures, trying to install earlier versions of iTunes). It all started when I downloaded the Decemberists new album on my iPhone, and it wasn't downloading it properly so I connected it to my Dell, but some songs still wouldn't DL - also, the newest OS for my iPhone still won't install via WiFi - and so I uninstalled iTunes first, but nothing is helping. And I don't have any security issues (Norton has checked). Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end after 3 days of this. Thank you.

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

  • The newest version... 4 will not completely load my home page and goes "milky"..and will not resolve.

Firefox will access..though the screen goes "Milky" at any attempt to browse. Another browser is working..so this is NOT my computer's problem.

In solving at least part of my own problem I've just discovered that in my just upgraded version 4, at least with Yahoo mail, I find that if I initiate printing an email from the orange upper left "Firefox" drop-down, only page 1 prints. HOWEVER, if I click on the "print" button immediately above the message, the entire message prints properly. Some web sites still only print page 1 because there is no other way than the drop down to access a print dialog box.

  • Newest version of Firefox for Windows will not install.

After the auto update of Firefox failed to work, I downloaded the full installation file for the most recent version of Firefox (28.0). The setup file extracts but doesn't install. I also cannot find the extracted file(s) on my computer. I have tried uninstalling older versions, running antivirus, anti-rootkit and malware programs and also disabling those programs before trying to install. Any other suggestions I can try?

Download and save the full Firefox installer from here :- http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

  • Why is the new version of Firefox so ugly and not as user friendly as the previous versions?

I've been using Firefox for years now and always loved it because of the simplicity of use and the add-ons that made my life easier. Now the major add-on that I use is no longer compatible, the new setup is visually disorienting, and apparently users have to make all kinds of adjustments to be even decently happy with their browser. Why on earth would you ever consider releasing an update that requires the users to do half the work to be satisfied with the program, or to update their OS to a system with which they're not comfortable? I switched back to 3.6 immediately, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Plan A: Simply "Enable" the menu bar again. Click on the Ugly orange button, Choose Options and then choose "Menu Bar".
    Plan B: Install this theme
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-3-theme-for-firefox/
I'm sure changing the theme was a point of major debate to the developers. In the end, I think they only alienated their existing userbase. If we want something that looks like Google Chrome, we'll use Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is difficult to use to the average user. Now Firefox is too. Too tech inclined. Completely out of touch with the vast majority of web users.

  • Since I have updated to the newest version 5 My Yahoo toolbar will not work or allow the settings to be loaded to toolbar. I have reinstalled the toolbar to the Version 2 didn't help

I have tried updating plugins and have tried updating the Yahoo Toolbar as a plugin and that has not fixed it yet. I get an error code saying that it could not be downloaded or updated because Firefox cannot find the proper file or something to that. I really need that toolbar because all of my bookmarks are there. I have tried to download the Firefox Bookmarks plugin and I get the same error message.

I have the exact same issue. I havent found our what is causing it either. Multaple re-install attempts with no success. I have to use Windows Media Center to burn audio discs.  Any other advice?
