Why isn't my last import saving? I can import the pictures from the memory card, but if I close out iPhoto the just "imported photos" are nowhere to be found. Please help

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I updated my Macbook Pro last week to Lion. I went to go import pictures from a memory card to my iPhoto, but only a portion of them loaded before my iPhoto froze and I had to Force Quit it. Now iPhoto won't even open... Help!

After I did a renaming batch all of my photos are a white block! please help

I did a batch rename in Bridge and all of my jpeg photos turned into a white block, photos are gone, PS nor bridge recognize file. What happened?
I also had a PSD file of each photo that still is showing the photo in Bridge, but will not open, it says it does not recognize file.
I choose the option to keep original name and extension.
I have tried renaming and changing file ext. but this does not help.
Any thoughts?

It seems you have more then one dot or multiple extensions in the filename.
But maybe a screenshot of your content window with filenames would clarify a bit more.
In general, you should only use one dot in a file name and that is the one at the end of the filename ( for a jpeg that would mean ".jpg").
Just select one file in the content window and with right mouse click choose duplicate. this provides a duplicate file with the addition of Copy after the filename and before the extension. Just select the complete field and type: test.jpg and then try again.

My MacBook pro wont wake up from sleep. The screen is blank at all times, but I can hear the fan for 5 sec then everything stops. Please help! I don't kno what to do.

My MacBook pro is about 3 yrs old. It is a 2008 model right before the new design came out. Recently I closed it up which puts it to sleep and a couple minutes later when I opened it up the screen stayed blank but could hear the fan running but then the power clicked like it was shutting down and I could hear nothing more. My power supply is working and I have already tried resetting it. Can anyone help me? I don't live exactly near a Mac store to get help.

Before resorting to an LB change-out, try this, as it has fixed many of the "silver-key" Macbook Pros with wake-from-sleep issues:
1) To get the computer running, do an SMC reset. Instructions here:

2) If you get it running, go to System Preferences > Network and select your Airport connection
3) In the result main pane, click the "Advanced..." button.
4) You should be looking at a window with multiple tabs at the top; the "Airport" tab (far left) should be active---if not, make it so.
5) There is a panel showing "Prefered Networks." Use the "minus" button below that window to eliminate any networks that you don't need to access on more than a weekly basis. I'm down to two: the home Airport Extreme Base Station and the network for a museum at which I volunteer once a week.
5) Click "OK" and close System Preferences.
Now try letting it sleep and see it if wakes up.

Can't view photos in iPhoto, but they are in my last imported photos

I have been able to upload photos from my camera onto my iphoto and view them as normal and create events. I've uploaded some more but now they are just coming up in my last imports and i cannot view them as there is a caution symbol with an exclamation mark. I can still see them as small thumbnails but that's it, i cannot do any photo sharing and creating an event.
Once i imported the photos it comes up with a keep photos or delete and i selected the delete option same as the other times. Someone please help so these photos don't get lost. They are only in my last imported photos.

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

If you have emmptied the iPhoto trash then you're going to need a file recovery application like File Salvage

Because there are three copies of each photo on the card and you have the sort order set incorrectly?
That is the overwhelmingly most likely cause - beyond that you actually need to share some information with us since we only know what you tell us and at this point all you have told us is that you have a problem and you are running OS X 10.9.4
what version of iPhoto do you have? what is the source of the photos? have you looked at the SD card in the finder or with image capture to see exactly why is on it? are you shooting HRD with the source camera? what setting do you have for event sort under the view menu? has it ever worked? what has changed? what else can you tell us? why do you think this is happening?

Not sure what the issue is.
I have never had an issue with a charger, nor has anyone I know personally.
All of my old chargers still work just fine.
If yours are failing within the waranty period, then you should be able to get a free replacement.

You should take a look at iView Media or its Pro version. It is a cross-platform (Mac and Windows) program that is free of some of the stultifying limitations of iPhoto. For example, you can create multiple catalogs and you can easily catalog media (not just photos) that are not on the current disk, like media stored on CDs. It has very flexible cataloging features.
If they have not changed their licensing, you can buy one license to run both the Mac and PC version for one price. You can make one catalog and easily pass it between a Mac and PC with no translation or confusion. This would be much easier than trying to make it work with iPhoto and some other Windows program.
If you were to go the iView route, you would have to "sync" the data back to the photos so that they carry your keyword etc. data with them to other apps. I don't know if iPhoto embeds that info back to the photos, or if it stays in the iPhoto database only.
Photoshop Elements 4 is great on Windows, but the Mac version of Elements does not include the cataloging feature because it integrates with iPhoto. I'm not sure how smooth that all works.
