Why the website looks different in different browsers?

Hello,
I coded my website in Dreamweaver CS4, and let it go:

The problem is that it looks fine in Firefox, Safari, Opera but when I opened it in Explorer 7, some line appeared after header and also there is no space between paragraphs. Could me somebody help and say why it is so? I'm attaching also the photo, how it looks in the Explorer 7:

You have quite a bit of un-needed code in your CSS. To remove borders from images and linked images you need only 2 lines of code:

My website looks fine in other browsers but on firefox it comes up like an index with the title first and on the second line it says skip to content. Can this be fixed?

When I look at my website it loads up as an index with the heading on the top line and then a link saying "skip to content" and then the navigation is in bullet points. Make sure that you do not block the CSS files on that page.

How could the website look fine on my computer.. but not on another.

In one of my websites www.acsmechanical.net, the images aren't lining up with the background I created. I got it to look right on my computer, but when I use another computer and go to the site there is a "gap". Different screen resolution maybe? How can I make the website look right regardless of the computer? Pleeeeaseeee help me.

I'm sorry, I fired off my repy without seeing that you had asked on how to solve the issue.
I think the problem is your using tables, they are always hard to line up in that fashion. With the way you have the overlapping, it would take some doing with <div> tags, but it looks doable.
If no one provides yhou with the anwer, I will try to look at it later tonight, have to run off soon.

Why the colors look so different betweet my Camera Raw and Bridge?

We know that after editing images in Camera Raw, thumbnails in Bridge will updated according to the new xmp files.
However, for some of my Raw files, the colors look very different in Bridge after makeing adjustments in Camera Raw, I can see more red in those phoots. But when I reopen the file in Camera Raw, all the colors are just correct.
For those photos without applying xmp files the colors looks exactly the same in Camera Raw and Bridge.
Does this means that my Camera Raw and Bridge use different color space? How can I fix this problem? Thank you

If you want help, you need to specify your platform (Mac or Windows), the exact versions of your Operating System, Photoshop, ACR plug-in and Bridge.
Also look at your Bridge preferences and tell us what you have your Thumbnail preferences set to.
Re-setting your preferences and purging the cache would also help. It could be something as simple as a corrupt cache.
Bridge is Color Managed, but it does not use a color space of its own. It applies the color space with which each image is tagged, it assigns sRGB to untagged files.
When was the last time you calibrated and profiled your monitor?
Details would help.

I just started getting a new window opening upon each fresh opening of Firefox even though I closed it on the last shutdown and each time the website that opens is different.

I usually leave several tabs and 1-3 windows open on shut down of Firefox so that I can have access to those sites when I restart Firefox. Recently I started getting an extra window opening when I start up with a website opening that I've never been to or am aware of. Each time I close that window out but it returns the next time with a different website usually trying to sell me something. Please help me get rid of this annoying encroachment.

Why does everything look perfect in preview browsers firefox and IE but not online?

Hi, I have spent a couple months creating a website and checking all the pages on the preview browser and all the pages looked great. I finally put all the files to the server and online and the formatting is messed up on portions of every page. Yet when I check these pages again in the preview browser they look perfect. Please help!

Why the query access path is different !

I have a query which is running satisfactorily in TEST but is taking a long time in PROD.
SELECT * FROM MTHLY_PROD_BASE WHERE START_DATE >= to_date('1/1/2013','mm/dd/yyyy') AND START_DATE < to_date('1/1/2014','mm/dd/yyyy')
MTHLY_PROD_BASE is a view, containing some underlying tables and views which are doing summations and groupings of data.
I have access plans for it in TEST and PROD in jpg format, but I am not able to attach here as the "Insert Image" button is inactive for me. How can I attach them for explaining my issue properly ?
There was some memory added around a week ago to the DB server for improving performance of another database, but since then the DB in which I ran the query is performing poorly.
Data for underlying tables, being referenced in the query, in TEST is same as in PROD, but the plans are different.
I need to know what factors may cause the access path for a query to change, so that I can investigate what else might have got changed/impacted in PROD ?

Why the acquisition with DAQmx is different by using Labview 8.2 from Labview signal express?

I am using a PCi-6281 to acquire a voltage. When I am using Labview signal express with only the step to acquire I read the good signal with the exact voltage. But when I am using my VI, the y axis and the values recorded are wrong. Why this difference appears?
I insert a picture with both signal: at the top is the signal from my vi (wrong measurement) and at the bottom is the signal from labview signal express (correct).
The vi I am using is the example Cont Acqu&Graph Voltage-To file (binary).vi.

I am using the binary file because it requires the minimum change in another VI. I have tried to change in scaled data but now my second VI has not enough memory to display all data.... What's wrong? Here is my second VI. Totest with data you need to insert a number in the "scaling factor" if not the dat are multiplied by zero...

Why the ID on iCloud is different from my Apple ID?

I updated the IOS of my iphone4 through my PC last night, but somehow it doesn't restore my Apps to iphone. Then I recognized that I have an eariler backup in iCloud yesterday. I am trying to restore the backup from iCloud now. I signed in to iCloud with my Apple ID first. Then it asked me to choose the date of backup record. Then, it asked me to sign in another Apple ID which I don't know at all. Why's that? I can't sign in someone's ID. I can't restore my backup from iCloud. Please, anyone can help!!!!!

Your Apple ID is required to log in to iCloud, yes? I think you are rquired to re-sign in when performing an iCloud feature?

Why the same function ToolTipText behaves differently in Jar and in Class

Hi All! In my applet I use two similar statements from javax.swing:
jListTeaSortSelect.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
jProgressBar1.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
Both work correctly when I run my applet from classes.
Problem: When I run it from jar, composed from the same classes, second tool tip does not appear.
I have no idea on where to get a hint to the solution. Could that be that the problem is caused by other graphical components or by the layout of the container?

What i understand from u'r problem is that when a jar is created and run under browser, ToolTipText for progress panel is not shown? is so is the case - i had no problems..
The code given was compiled and created a jar successfully..

Why the website is requiring my computer to send a client certificate

I can no longer access my course's website using Safari. A message pops-up informing that the site is requiring a "client certificate to validate my ID" to get through the main page. When I click on the available certificates that Safari offers me, the same message pops-up again, and I can't go foward. When I access the same website using Chrome from a Vaio computer, this problem does not occur. What should I do? I never had this problem before.

From your description, it seems that you are trying to create a SSL communication between your server side and client side. As far as I know, we need to install the certificate file in both client side and server side and if you are using server mode, for

There are 3rd party apps you can get that can help a bit, but I think the main answer is that if you are using templates and graphic rich features of iWeb, the code it generates is pretty complex, a side effect of making it easy to use. All that code gives wiggle room to different browsers and generations of browsers to reproduce it differently.
My approach is just to keep things as simple as possible, and start with blank pages rather than templates. Because I keep my pages streamlined, they're universally compatible.
