Why there's error stating "unreported exception" when call function

     public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
          Object obj = evt.getSource();
          if (obj == DeleteButton)
               readfile(); // Error here
               deletefile();
               rename();
========================================================================
     public void readfile() throws Exception
          BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("WhiteCollar2.txt"));
          line=in.readLine();
          found=0;
          while (line!=null)
               if ((line.substring(0,6)).equals((String)textfield.getText()))
                    System.out.println("CORRECT\n");
                    found=1;
               else
                    writefile();
               line=in.readLine();
========================================================================
How come when I call the above readfile(), it gives me :
DeleteScreen.java:70: unreported exception java.lang.Exception; must be caught or declared to be thrown
readfile();
However if I change to the following :
try{readfile()};
catch (Exception e) {}
The code works fine. I am still figuring out on throwing exceptions etc. But how come I already throw exceptions it still complains exception not declared?
Thanks and Rgds

but the writefile() function which I called in the
read() also throw exception but how come I do not need
to catch it for the write()?The error message says it all: must be caught or declared to be thrown. Thus, you must either catch the exception using try-catch or you must declare that your method throws the exception using the throws declaration.
Your call to writefile() is in the method readfile() that already declares that it throws Exception. So there is no problem there.
BTW, you should know that it is generally ill-advised to catch or declare exception using the superclass Exception. You should use as specific an exception class as possible. In this case I suppose it would be IOException.

    - What OS is Siebel running on?
    - What version of the Siebel connector are you using?
    - Which libdnd.so file are you using?
    - What's the contents of your dnd.parms file?

  • Error BT616 when calling function module SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE in background

    Hi All,
    We use function module SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE with a custom command we defined in SM69 to move files in unix (mv command).
    The function module call has worked fine for almost a year and recently we have been seeing an error (BT616) in our job lob (SM37) when the program is run in background. We have not been able to reproduce the error in foreground mode and it seems to be occuring only periodically in the background. (The appropriate SAP authorization objects where assigned to the batch job ID and the steps on the batch job.) We are in the process of setting up the trace flag and performing analysis on the trace log via ST11 to help identify the issue.
    After perform analysis on SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE, the error is occurring when calling function module SAPXPG_END_XPG for exception 2, system failure, yet function module SAPXPG_END_XPG does not exist. I assume this is a program at the operating system level and is just a signature of the parameters to be passed to the operating system program.
    Below is part of the SAP function module SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE that is failing.
    * Now we have to wait for the termination of the external
    * command if the caller wants us to.
        IF TERMINATIONWAIT = 'X'.
          CALL FUNCTION 'SAPXPG_END_XPG'
            DESTINATION DESTINATION
            IMPORTING   EXITSTAT = STATUS
                        EXITCODE = EXITCODE
            TABLES      LOG      = LOG
            EXCEPTIONS  COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 1 MESSAGE MSG
                        SYSTEM_FAILURE        = 2 MESSAGE MSG.
    I performed a where used on function module SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE, and most of SAP programs call the function module with the parameter TERMINATIONWAIT = 'X', so I assume we should pass ‘X’ as well.
    Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
    Mike Vondran

    I also remember I have this kind of issue, as I have some UNIX script at OS( UNIX) level . The problem was with the ID , as it don’t have proper authorization at OS level ( UNIX ) . Please check this ID authorization. This could be the one of reasons if you’re sure from SAP standpoint.
    Hope this’ll give you some guide line..
    Thanks
    Bye

    Hi
    Please activate the corresponding programs again. I think you got a short dump for this error, if yes, you can see the program's name there.

    Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

    Hi Ruth:
    Thanks for reaching out to me about this issue.
    This has been happening since I got the phone a couple of years ago.
    I did not realize that my home land line and my wife's cell phone
    always go straight to voice mail until my wife pointed it out to me
    several months ago.  Is there a setting I can adjust?
    Yes, I can make calls to our home land line and to her cell phone
    without being diverted to voice mail.
    Any advice you might have would be most welcome.
    Thanks.

  • Why does FCP error "File Not Found" when I try to open my sequences????

    I recently updated all of my software and the following day I started getting errors "file not found" when I would try to open a sequence. Now all of my sequences are being lost and I am losing time and money because I can't meet deadlines! This *****!!! With one sequence I had to reedit the entire thing from scratch and when I did for some reason the old one would then open. But the next time I opened FCP both sequences would error out. Following the "file not found" the computer responds with another error "error: out of memory" What the devil is going on with this crap?

    I seem to have figured out what my problem was. After trying to build the same project (that failed on the Mac Pro) on my laptop and encountering the same errors, I realized that the problem had to be with one or more of my assets and not my new version of FCP, since my PowerBook is running FCP 5.0.4 and my Mac Pro is running FCP 5.1.2.
    In my case the "corrupt" file was a Photoshop PSD file. In the past (FCP 4.5) I was able to use PSD files with hidden layers. I would merge the visible layers into one layer, keep the hidden layers and save the file. Once in FCP, I imported the PSD file and kept right on truckin'. I've done this for years. For some reason now with FCP 5.1.2 (and 5.0.4), that's not flying anymore. Once I "Flattened" the PSD file in Photoshop (deleting all of the hidden layers) I was able to build the project without any errors.
    Interestingly, the technique I used to figure out which file was "corrupt" also allowed me to salvage parts of some of my "lost" sequences. I saw this posted in a forum at Creative Cow (creativecow.net). Basically, I opened up the project, clicked the OK button after the File Not Found error, went into the Browser, right clicked on the offending sequence, selected "Make Offline". When I double clicked the sequence it opened in the timeline with all of my assets offline. Then in the timeline, one by one, I right clicked on each clip and selected "Reconnect Media". Once I linked up the media, if I didn't get an error message, I would save as a new project (to salvage what WAS working), and go to the next clip. I did this until I found the offending PSD files.
    I hope this helps. Now it's time to play "catch-up"

  • Exception CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE when calling function

    Hello,
    When I call a function module, it gives a runtime error like this:
    Runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_TYPE
    Except. CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE
    The problem is that I'm using something like below:
    call function zzz
    exporting
            xxx             = yyy
    with:
    xxx type char50
    yyy type char2
    Is there a possibility to transform my char2 into a char50?
    By doing this, I would be able to use the function module.
    Thanks

    hi,
    do one thing just make the type and size of both the importing and exporting parameter same...
    example:-
    data: a(10) type c.   (importing)
    data: b(10) type c.       (exporting)
    i think this will help u

  • Error "Job already started" when calling a adobe form in Z function module

    Hi All,
    I have a error when calling a adobe form in a custom function module.
    I am using FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME to get the adobe form function module and then i am using FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the printing parameters such as no print preview or no dialog ..etc.. I dont have any exceptions during the call of FP_JOB_OPEN function module ..
    Later I am calling my function module which was generated for the adobe form and i am getting the error called " JOB ALREADY STARTED".
    I tried executing the same function module in se37 and the PDF form output was generated, and also by commenting FP_JOB_OPEN function module the PDF form output was generated.
    But i need the FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the output based on the output type which triggers the form output such as the medium from nast record which says print or email or fax.. etc
    Please let me know how to handling this error.

    Just as a followup note. If you are testing a function module from SE37 and the test button you will get a value in SY-CPROG. You must override this value for everything to work.
    If you override the value of SY-CPROG with the main program that will be calling the function module you have no problem.

  • Error in interface mapping  when calling a xsl file

    Hi,
    Using XSLT I am calling another XSL file  into my main xsl file.I have added both the zip files into  a single zip file and imported in my imported archive.But when i do the interface mapping testing i get an error 'Transformer configuration exception occurred when loading XSLT xslt1.xsl'.
    What should i do?

    Dear Sidhvin,
    First test your XSLT in the editor (for example STYLUS STUDIO). In Editor run your mapping and have a look whether you are getting the required result.
    if you are  getting the required result of XSLT then use it in the scenario and after importing this activate it and then run the interface.
    hope this time you will not get any error

    I analyzed the traffic in the jdeveloper's http monitor and found out, that obviously the UTL_DBWS package sends a POST request but it should be GET, because the oracle AS responses that POST is not allowed with my webservice. If you use the AS' web interface to invoke the webservice, a GET is generated.
    Now, does anyone know about that or how I can configure UTL_DBWS to send GET requests?
    thanks in advance

    ps: apparently it doesn't matter whether the webservice is returning some data or not

    Hi everyone,
    I was testing the UTL_DBWS package with a 10.2.0.2.0 database to get a call to a webservice on an Oracle AS. My PL/SQL code is like this:
    declare
    l_service sys.UTL_DBWS.service;
    l_call sys.UTL_DBWS.call;
    l_result ANYDATA;
    l_wsdl_url VARCHAR2(1024);
    l_service_name VARCHAR2(200);
    l_operation_name VARCHAR2(200);
    l_input_params sys.UTL_DBWS.anydata_list;
    reti          pls_integer;
    BEGIN
    l_wsdl_url := 'http://localhost:8099/JMSService?wsdl';
    l_service_name := 'JMSService';
    l_operation_name := 'sendTextMsg';
    l_service := sys.UTL_DBWS.create_service (
    wsdl_document_location => URIFACTORY.getURI(l_wsdl_url),
    service_name => l_service_name);
    l_call := sys.UTL_DBWS.create_call (
    service_handle => l_service,
    port_name => null,
    operation_name => l_operation_name);
    sys.utl_dbws.set_property(l_call, 'ENCODINGSTYLE_URI', 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/');
    sys.utl_dbws.set_property(l_call, 'OPERATION_STYLE', 'rpc');
    sys.utl_dbws.set_target_endpoint_address(l_call, 'http://localhost:8099/JMSService');
    l_input_params(1) := ANYDATA.ConvertVarchar2('a');
    l_input_params(2) := ANYDATA.ConvertVarchar2('a');
    l_input_params(3) := ANYDATA.ConvertVarchar2('just a test');
    l_result := sys.UTL_DBWS.invoke (
    call_handle => l_call,
    input_params => l_input_params
    sys.UTL_DBWS.release_call (call_handle => l_call);

  • NO_PERMISSION Exception when calling secured EJB-methods

    In WL6.1, I have an Ejb with secured methods. The (Swing) client application accesses the Ejb through rmi-iiop using the JDK1.3.1 Orb.
    Unfortunately, it seems that the caller identity (which was supplied in the InitialContext lookup) is not propagated
    to the server: any call to a secured method
    fails with a CORBA NO_PERMISSION Exception.
    Non secured methods work fine.
    Using the t3 protocol the program also works fine, but that would require
    the 25Mb weblogic.jar on all clients,
    which is unattainable for us.
    Any ideas how this situation can be corrected?
    -Allard Siemelink

    I am still getting the NO_PERMISSION Exception when using "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory".
    We use Sun's JRE, version 1.3.1_01.
    Am I forgetting something?
    My code is as follows:
    InitialContext context = null;
    try {
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    ht.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:80");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "system");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "system_password");
    context = new InitialContext(ht);
    Object objHome = context.lookup(EJB_NAME);
    MyHome myHome = (MyHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objHome, MyHome.class);
    MyRemote myRemote = myHome.create();
    //NEXT LINE Crashes when method is secured:
    myRemote.securedMethod();
    finally {
    if (context!=null) context.close();

  • Exception when calling SOAP Lookup-API async

    Hello,
    i'm calling a SOAP-Comunication Channel (Lookup-API) out of my MessageMapping. The WebService Called is <u>asynchron</u> because i just send some data and i don't care about the result. The WebService itselfs is implemented on our XI. In other words: we call us self.
    In order to call my WebService asynchronous, i added <i>&QualityOfService=ExactlyOnce</i> at the end of the URL. The SOAP-Action is:

    The problem is: i don't know how to check for the HTTP-Header, because
    my call
    <i>SOAPOutPayload = accessor.call(payload);</i>
    throws the mentioned exception, even though it works behind the scene.
    Is it possible to check for the HTTP-Response-Code in the catch block?
    We want to avoid an synchronous scenario because we don't need the result and the WebService is rather slow.
