Why we are going for ABAP Objects?
Why should we use ABAP Objects instead of Function Group(in Function Module)?

Why we are going for OOALV insted of function modules ?
Why we are going for OOALV insted of function modules. ?
Its very easy to use function modules directly compared to OOALV.
IS there any particular reasons or any advantanges of using ooalv
Thanks & regards,
hari priyaHi
a) from abap coding point of view,
alv list is done with Function modules,
alv gris can also be done with FM,
but can also be done using OO concepts.
b) Alv grid (using oo concept) requires
designing the screen layout .
Hence, in one screen, we can show more
then one alv grid
(we cannot show more than
one alv list on one screen)
c) ALV grid uses ActiveX controls
present on the Presentation Server.
Hence, it consumes More Memory
on the presentation server.
d) ALV LIST is Display Only.
Whereas
ALV Grid Can Be made EDITABLE for entry purpose.
e) In alv grid, these options are possible,
but not in alv list.
without horizontal lines
without vertical lines
without cell merging during sorts
display total lines above the entries
ALV LIST Can be coded using only FMs
ALV GRID Can be coded using FMs and object oriented concepts
ALV LIST Can be displayed hieraicharlly
ALV GRID cannot be displayed hierarichally

Dear All,
Would you mind tell me the concept of the event in the ABAP objects.
Regards,
LukehI
Triggering and Handling Events
In ABAP Objects, triggering and handling an event means that certain methods act as triggers and trigger events, to which other methods - the handlers - react. This means that the handler methods are executed when the event occurs.
This section contains explains how to work with events in ABAP Objects. For precise details of the relevant ABAP statements, refer to the corresponding keyword documentation in the ABAP Editor.
Triggering Events
To trigger an event, a class must
· Declare the event in its declaration part
· Trigger the event in one of its methods
Declaring Events
You declare events in the declaration part of a class or in an interface. To declare instance events, use the following statement:
EVENTS ) TYPE type ..
To declare static events, use the following statement:
CLASS-EVENTS ... ...
It links a list of handler methods with corresponding trigger methods. There are four different types of event.
It can be
· An instance event declared in a class
· An instance event declared in an interface
· A static event declared in a class
· A static event declared in an interface
The syntax and effect of the SET HANDLER depends on which of the four cases listed above applies.
For an instance event, you must use the FOR addition to specify the instance for which you want to register the handler. You can either specify a single instance as the trigger, using a reference variable ...
The registration applies automatically to the whole class, or to all of the classes that implement the interface containing the static event. In the case of interfaces, the registration also applies to classes that are not loaded until after the handler has been registered.
Timing of Event Handling
After the RAISE EVENT statement, all registered handler methods are executed before the next statement is processed (synchronous event handling). If a handler method itself triggers events, its handler methods are executed before the original handler method continues. To avoid the possibility of endless recursion, events may currently only be nested 64 deep.
Handler methods are executed in the order in which they were registered. Since event handlers are registered dynamically, you should not assume that they will be processed in a particular order. Instead, you should program as though all event handlers will be executed simultaneously.

Saurabh A. BukshHi,
Thank you for the helping me. But, I actually want something which we call a Text Box. I do not require a Text Edit Control.

Photoshop CS6 (mac) - Why is Liquify disabled for smart object?
I've sent over an image from LR5 into PS CS6 as a smart object.
I'm wanting to run the liquify filter, but it isn't open to me as an option. Can someone give me some ideas on what the problem is here?
I checked with Help on PS..and it says my copy is up to date and no new updates available.
I thought CS6 would work liquify on smart objects as a smart filter.
I'm a bit of a noob here, so I may have something set wrong, so, please be patient talk slowly when using big words with me.
Thank you in advance,
chilecayennejohn worthington wrote:
Liquify Smart Object support was added in a update/dot release to CS6. I don't remember which one. Also we are currently investigating a possible bug where Liquify Smart Objects from older Photoshop psd files may not be recognized correctly in the latest version of Photoshop.
Can you find out for sure on which version? Seems strange, that CS6, no matter where it came from, wouldn't be sync'ed as far as version. I understand features coming out for PHotoshop CC, that would go forward and not be in CS6, but it seems that CS6 should be CS6 and be sync'd for features and version numbers no matter where you got it from.
If you got CS6 from CC....and you quit CC....does that version of CS6 quit functioning or does it work still going forward if you stop paying the CC monthly rent?
Thanks in advance,

Why are ports 5355, 58, and 68 being listened to/open ?
Please let me know if any additional information is needed, it is the latest version or arch linux and fully updated as of this post.68 is for BOOTP/DHCP. Why it needs so many open is beyond me - dhcpcd just has the one global 68 open for any amount of interfaces.
The other two ports don't look like anything network setup related should have open.

Sales order are going for credit block once the re-scheduling is executed.
Created a sales order where Qty is not confirmed order went for credit block (dynamic credit check block) and order has released through VKM3 and Executed the re-scheduling (V_V2) later qty is confirmed for the sales order but again the order went for credit block.
Note: Configuration setup is already done in the Define Automatic Credit control
Released documents are still unchecked.
Deviation in % : 0
Number of Days 60
With the above configuration in Define Automatic Credit control once released order should not go for credit block till further 60 days once it is released.
Can someone kindly share with me possibilitieshi subramanyam,
credit control will not accure, if you dont change anything intresting for the credit block.
Intresting means :
- change of price
- change of quantity
- change of deliverydate ===> in my company that was the problem.
We did a useerexit - condition for new credit-block-checks.
In this userexit, you can decide, in which scenario you will suspend a additional check by saving your document for example while V_V2.
loock in customizing for chredit check in the first fields in the left upper sinde of the display - i guess to remember .

If you maitain tax code in PO, it will only show at item level, whereas the header level tax code comes from the configuration that you have maintained for default tax code.
So have you changed the header tax code as maintained in PO, and put a tick on "Calculate Tax", Check -
Why arhivelogs are required for performing FLASHBACK database
Please explain. Thanks.
Documentation says :
It is similar to conventional point in time recovery in its effects, allowing you to return a database to its state at a time in the recent past.
Flashback Database is, however, much faster than point-in-time recovery, because it does not require restoring datafiles from backup and it requires applying fewer changes from the archived redo logs.
It is reason of Flashback require archivelog mode on database.

Why are the old iPhones going for so much on ebay?
My iPhone was recently destroyed by my lawn mower, so I was looking out on ebay to see if I could find a bargain on a used one. But I see 8gb versions are going for upwards of $500 - used. That's what I paid for my 16gb brand new.
What is making them so popular?
Thanks,
BradIt basically boils down to supply and demand. Locked iPhones in sealed boxes are bringing as much, if not more, than unlocked ones.
If you're thinking of upgrading, check your area to make sure there is 3G coverage, otherwise stick with the 1 gen model. You'll still be able to install the new 2.0 software and get apps from the App Store.

Why jvm maintains string pool only for string objects why not for other objects?
why jvm maintains string pool only for string objects why not for other objects? why there is no pool for other objects? what is the specialty of string?

You might be aware of the fact that String is an immutable object, which means string object once created cannot be manipulated or modified. If we are going for such operation then we will be creating a new string out of that operation.
It's a JVM design-time decision or rather better memory management. In programming it's quite a common case that we will define string with same values multiple times and having a pool to hold these data will be much efficient. Multiple references from program point/ refer to same object/ value.

Why String is Immutable in Java ? | Javalobby
Sorry but you are spreading FALSE information. Also, that first article is WRONG - just as OP was wrong.
This is NO SUCH THING as a 'string pool' in Java. There is a CONSTANT pool and that pool can include STRING CONSTANTS.
It has NOTHING to do with immutability - it has to do with CONSTANTS.
Just because a string is immutable does NOT mean it is a CONSTANT. And just because two strings have the exact same sequence of characters does NOT mean they use values from the constant pool.
On the other hand class String offers the .intern() method to ensure that there is only one instance of class String for a certain sequence of characters, and the JVM calls it implicitly for literal strings and compile time string concatination results.
Chapter 3. Lexical Structure
In that sense the OPs question is valid, although the OP uses wrong wording.
And the question is: what makes class Strings special so that it offers interning while other basic types don't.
I don't know the answer.
But in my opinion this is because of the hybrid nature of strings.
In Java we have primitive types (int, float, double...) and Object types (Integer, Float, Double).
The primitive types are consessons to C developers. Without primitive types you could not write simple equiations or comparisons (a = 2+3; if (a==5) ...). [autoboxing has not been there from the beginning...]
The String class is different, almost something of both. You create String literals as you do with primitives (String a = "aString") and you can concatinate strings with the '+' operator. Nevertheless each string is an object.
It should be common knowledge that strings should not be compared with '==' but because of the interning functionality this works surprisingly often.
Since strings are so easy to create and each string is an object the lack ot the interning functionality would cause heavy memory consumption. Just look at your code how often you use the same string literal within your program.
The memory problem is less important for other object types. Either because you create less equal objects of them or the benefit of pointing to the same object is less (eg. because the memory foot print of the individual objects is almost the same as the memory footpint of the references to it needed anyway).
These are my personal thoughts.
Hope this helps.
