Why we call adaptive RFC in webdynpro java..

Hi,
I want to know why we call adaptive RFC connection in webdynpro java whenever we import new rfc in our java web dynpro project. why name ADAPTIVE RFC is used
if we make any structure changes in the model which we imported in web dynpro project , like adding a new field, or changing the length/datatype of the existing field, then we always have to reimport the model in our webdynpro project so why adaptive name used. wats especial in the word ADAPTIVE RFC

The Adaptive Remote Function Call (Adaptive RFC) is a technology that enables the Web Dynpro application developer to use the business functions encapsulated in Business APIs (BAPIs) even after a structure modification, without having to provide the new data using a second back end or a new structure with subsequent regeneration of the proxies.
This new RFC model shows adaptive behavior. This means that the RFC proxies do not use the original design time structure definition at runtime. Instead, this Web Dynpro model automatically adapts the data of the structure passed in the Java proxy generation to the current data that is, a structure definition in the back-end system that may have been modified

Difference between BAPI and RFM --
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects.
You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository)
which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA.
In this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system
in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call.

There's a seperate Web Dynpro forum for such posts, you should take a look there.
Nonetheless, the classic tutorial is the FlightList. If I was you, I would make sure to do this tutorial step-by-step as it should give you the fundamentals for understanding aRFC. On top of that, it's most likely already available to you on your SAP system...

check whether cache invalidation tool is installed on your portal or not.
go to system administration-system configuration-webdynpro console-invalidate ARFC cache
or you can reimport model using another jco connection.

Problem with special charecter while calling a BAPI from Webdynpro JAVA.

I am calling a BAPI from Webdynpro JAVA. I am passing a special charecter u2018 as input to BAPI. But I am getting a # as input in R/3.. Can any one explain why it is getting changed?

1-I want to write webdynpro java application to call RFC
2-Call RFC with USNAM parameter
3-Get PWD output parameter and write it's value into View TextInput field.
I wrote application but I did not get PWD (output parameter) value. I checked RFC running poreperly.I did not achieve to get PWD.
How can I do that?

I checked RFC, it is running properly and getting the output value.
And I used command below, but it produces error

Adaptive RFC in webdynpro

Hi, I developed a custom application in webdynpro and made it to work and in the mean time the sneak preview license expired. I have reinstalled the sneak preview but cannot get the application to work. I had saved the old application in my hard drive and the cannot reimport the model. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

I found one problem was missing object in the SAP system. Once I got that in place I was able to make the application work. I still have a problem with the Adaptive RFC import. This is the error I get.
I get this exception in a pop up.
"An internal error has occured. See error log for more details. "

Calling an RFC Function module in Web Dynpro ABAP is nothing different from Classical ABAP
use Pattern button to call function module and use DESTINATION syntax to specify the RFC destination

I'm developing an application in Adobe interactive Forms using webdynpro java. To retrive the data from R/3 generally we use RFC / BAPI's.
But i dont want to use RFC / BAPI's which is written in ABAP.
I want to write one RFC /BAPI using java to store / retreive the data from R/3. or how to access the data / store the data using JAVA from R/3.
Can any one guide me on the same.

Why SLD for Adaptive RFC Model?

Hi,
Is it necessary to configure the settings in SLD in order to run an adaptive RFC Model or does one have alternatives?
Because, while defining an adaptive RFC Model in NW-Dev-Studio, one does explicitly enter the SAP Log on information.

SLD is required to run the RFC application.
At design time there is no dependency on SLD and we are not going to specify SLD details during the model import.
Runtime will pickup the connection info from ContentAdminstrator where we will point to SLD.

How to upload a file in R/3 system through RFC using WebDynpro Java

we need to pass a file(mostly xml) using file upload feature in Webdynpro and then need to pass the file in R/3 system using RFC. What should be importing parameters for RFC and how should i implement the fileUploadUi in this case.
I have already seen example of how to add this in a table input form.

Apart from the resource context attribute create a context attribute of type binary.
get the data from resource & convert it to binary & pass that to RFC. U can use this code for conversion

Creating EVS , OVS with RFC in WebDynpro Java (F4)

I am struggling with EVS creation through aRFC. I followed all the tutorials given on the SDN, but of no use till now.
I have two DC's rmmodel and rmcomponents
I have created Model in the rmmodel DC through aRFC and added it in the public part. further I added the rmmodel DC in rmcomponent DC's used DC list. Finally i added rmmodel in the used models list of rmcomponent DC.
Then i created a component in rmcomponent DC.
I have already done model binding and context binding (XYZ_XYZ_XYX_Input -->Output)
Now I want to create an EVS with InputField , in my case i want to populate EVS from R/3 Table dynamically. Till now am getting a simple InputField with the first record selected on running my application.
Please Help.

here my attributename is Short so i am writing the following code in the EvsController's wdDoInit()

The problem is, it's not able to identify "Short" and giving me an error "Short can not be resolved"
