Wierd behaviour of  MS-DOS Editor while practising Java Programs

Hi
I use the MS-dos editor at my office for practising Java programs. I have three systems connected to one monitor,keyboard and mouse using a switch of Avocent make. I launch MS-dos editor and maximize it using (Alt + Enter). I now switch to some other machine and after say 5 minutes, again switch back to the machine where I launched MS-DOS editor for practice. But the machine does not respond and the screen goes dark without any display. I am forced to hardboot the machine. I am running windows xp. Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem.

or the videocard has problems maintaining fullscreen text mode superimposed on graphical mode when there is no destination for its output signal.
Whichever, it's hardware.
Of course using the old DOS editor under Windows is foolish to say the least. Use VI instead, or notepad if you have to.

    You are trying to invoke the class from the command prompt. My guess is that MultiContentSender contains a package, which means that you'll need to add your WEB-INF\classes directory to the classpath before it will work. Classes stored in this directory are expected to be invoked through tomcat, which builds it's own classpath.

  • Error while calling java program from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying for RFC inbound scenario.
    We followed the below blog
    /people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/08/26/setup-and-test-sap-java-connector-outbound-connection
    We are working with SAP JCO 3.0.2
    We are getting the error : 'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    After I run the Java server program if I execute the RFC destination directly from SM 59 it is showing successful messages.
    If I stop the java program then this RFC is failing. Based on this we concluded that RFC to Java connection is working fine.
    But as mentioned in blog if we call the RFC Destination from ABAP program it is giving the below error,
    'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    If we test the RFC destination using RFC_TRUSTED_CHECK standard FM we are getting the below error.
    'RFCPING' could not be found in the server repository.
    We create the RFC destination of Type : TCP/IP as exactly mention in the blog.
    Please help us in resolving this issue.
    Thanks

    1. This forum is for Swing-related issues only. This question should be posted to the "Java Programming" forum.
    2. Please enclose your sample code in code blocks; it's much easier to read that way. See here for how it's done: http://forum.java.sun.com/faq.jsp#messageformat
    3. Please provide more information, like what error messages you got and what OS you're running. For instance, if you're running WinXP, Win2k or NT4, your command processor should be "cmd.exe", not "command.com". When I made that change, your program worked for me.

  • Wierd Behaviour of IF then ELSE standard function

    Hi All,
    I am facing a very wierd behaviour of the IF then ELSE function in a mapping.
    Condition to be checked:   if GDS_id = 1, then (condition 1 -  RFC lookup ) ElSE (condition 2 - JDBC Lookup followed by an RFC  lookup).
    Issue:  The input payload is 0-unbounded with a possibility of a different GDS_id values.
    Case 1 :
    As shown below, in case the input payload has 3 repitions of the RECORD, with the Fit set having GDS_ID = 01, the mapping runs perfectly fine . All the If then Else branches are getting executed.
    Case 2:
    Where as iF the first GDS_ID != 01 (not 01) , thenthe target value is not getting populated properly .
    I have tried all the possibilities and combinations but i am unable to resolve this. Please help.
    Attached the screen shot of the message mapping, and sample test results of both the use cases.
    For instance, below is a sample payload:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    Hi All,
    I have changed the message mapping like below. Even though i am not getting my target filed as value. As per my requirement if GDS_ID=01  then perform the RFC lookup and pass the value to target fields KUNNR and else GDS_ID=02 then perform the JDBC LOOKUP and JDBC LOOKUP output to RFClookup .RFC LOOKUP output pass to my target field KUNNR.
    Result of my mapping is 1st record only populated KURNNR in Target side and 2nd record not showing as KUNNR filed in target side .But I have taken look on display queue in If then else out showing 2 values but it is not passing to target filed.
    Please provide any suggestion to resolve this issue.

  • Problem while running dos command from java program

    Dear friends,
    I need to terminate a running jar file from my java program which is running in the windows os.
    For that i have an dos command to find process id of java program and kill by using tskill command.
    Command to find process id is,
    wmic /output:ProcessList.txt process where "name='java.exe'" get commandline,processid
    This command gives the ProcessList.txt file and it contains the processid. I have to read this file to find the processid.
    when i execute this command in dos prompt, it gives the processid in the ProcessList.txt file. But when i execute the same command in java program it keeps running mode only.
    Code to run this command is,
    public class KillProcess {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              KillProcess kProcess = new KillProcess();
              kProcess.getRunningProcess();
              kProcess = new KillProcess();
              kProcess.readProcessFile();
         public void getRunningProcess() {
              String cmd = "wmic /output:ProcessList.txt process where \"name='java.exe'\" get commandline,processid";
              try {
                   Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
                   Process process = run.exec(cmd);
                   int i = process.waitFor();
                   String s = null;
                   if(i==0) {
                        BufferedReader stdInput = new BufferedReader(new
                               InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream()));
                        while ((s = stdInput.readLine()) != null) {
                         System.out.println("--> "+s);
                   } else {
                        BufferedReader stdError = new BufferedReader(new
                               InputStreamReader(process.getErrorStream()));
                        while ((s = stdError.readLine()) != null) {
                         System.out.println("====> "+ s);
                   System.out.println("Running process End....");
              } catch(Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         public String readProcessFile() {
              System.out.println("Read Process File...");
              File file = null;
              FileInputStream fis = null;
              BufferedReader br = null;
              String pixieLoc = "";
              try {
                   file = new File("ProcessList.txt");
                   if (file.exists() && file.length() > 0) {
                        fis = new FileInputStream(file);
                        br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(fis, "UTF-16"));
                        String line;
                        while((line = br.readLine()) != null)  {
                             System.out.println(line);
                   } else {
                        System.out.println("No such file");
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return pixieLoc;
    }     when i remove the process.waitFor(), then while reading the ProcessList.txt file, it says "No such file".
    if i give process.waitFor(), then it's in running mode and program is not completed.
    Colud anyone please tell me how to handle this situation?

  • Wierd behaviour in 10.2.0.2

    Hi Guys,
    I have this wierd behaviour.
    I have the parameter *.sessions=885 in my spfile.
    However few days back when i do a query in my db "show parameter sessions", the output is 1105.
    can advise?
    thanks

    SESSIONS doesn't have to be explicitly set, most DBAs would only set PROCESSES and let Oracle auto-compute SESSIONS.
    Since SESSIONS is not modifiable in memory, it is likely that it was modified when the instance was running with
    ALTER SYSTEM SET SESSIONS=885 SCOPE=SPFILE;which would have updated the SPFILE but not changed the value for the instance currently running.
    Go through your alert.log to see if any ALTER SYSTEM has been issued since the database instance was started up.

  • Using Dos Editor as an Interpreter ?

    I thought Qbasic for Dos was nothing more than an upgraded edit.com,
    or is it vice versa ? Anyway, did any people build a lib or something else
    as to let edit.com act as a java interpreter. Or is there any (free) edit-like
    java interpreter under dos (windows if it has to be).

    And what is an editor who 'lights' java commands and
    outline your code
    (something like microsoft script editor) ?Check out http://www.netbeans.org, and download the IDE. It has context highlighting and as a minor side-feature <grin> will allow you to develop java projects visually.
