Will apple unlock iphone if i bought it from my service provider?

Will  apple unlock iphone if i bought it from my service provider?

No, because Apple didn't lock the phone to begin with.  Your service provider did.  Only your service provider can initiate the unlock.  Contact them and see if they even offer unlocking, and if they do, what the requirements you need to fulfill are.

Good Evening, I would like to know from that day Apple will sell unlocked iPhone 5?

There is no such information currently available because Apple is not currently selling unlocked iPhones 5s anywhere. When they announce that information then you will know along with the rest of us users here.

  • Apple-unlocked iPhone became locked suddenly!!

I have an Apple-unlocked iPhone 3GS which I bought in Australia 2 years ago. It's always worked fine with various SIMs and varuious carriers - I travel a lot so unlocked was my chocie as I use SIMs in each country I visit. Recently in UK, I bought and installed a prepaid (pay as you go) SIM while I was there and now I find the phone is locked to that carrier. Well, at least it will not make calls - it'll recieve calls and it'll send and recieve SMS messages, but I can't make any calls - it just begins the calling process then gives call failed message. Now I find the problem, I've moved on to another country so getting the carrier to see to it is impossible for me. So now I have a locked phone because somehow a carrier has been able to disable the factory unlock by using their SIM I installed. This is a carrier I have not used before with this phone.
Amazing... how can that happen? How can a carrier have that sort of power over the device???
Can anyone tell me what's happened here? How can I get back to the original unlocked state?
I've tried a total Restore, but no change - still locked.
Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Okay I found the fix. Firstly it was not actually locked - I realised it couldn't be since it was still receiving calls and sending/receiving texts. Locked would give the SIM warning at the unlock screen.
So... eventually, Restored the phone and set up as a new iPhone instead of from backup. No more problem. Must have been corrupt backup files, so deleted all those from my Mac and have started from scratch with the new setup.

  • Official Apple Unlocked iPhone, not supported by Apple

Whilst I was travelling in South East Asia, I needed to purchase a new phone.
I found a supplier of iPhones in Thailand that sold me an Official Apple Unlocked iPhone, it turned out to be an Italian iPhone, again an official Apple one.
I needed an unlocked phone that I could use in many different countries, using local SIM cards.
I have been very happy with the phone, it needed updating to v2 and this did not cause any problems.
I was just speaking with AppleCare about an unrelated issue. at the end of the conversation I mentioned that the only thing about the iPhone that was disappointing about the iPhone was the volume of the speaker phone. The agent took the serial number of the iPhone and put me through to iPhone support.
The iPhone agent then took the serial number again and told me that I had an Italian iPhone, because it was bought in Thailand, support was only available through Thailand, she also told me that using a SIM card other than that of an official carrier voided the warranty.
All this seems a bit restrictive, for people in my position, to buy an Official Apple product and then be denied support defeats the object of sourcing an unlocked product in the first place. I can understand why Apple refuse to support iPhones that are unofficially unlocked, but to deny support for an official product seems grossly unfair.
Anyone else had problems getting Apple to support their own products, any ideas how this situation can be resolved?
    Jeremy

Apple clearly states that an iPhone is supported only in the country in which is was officially distributed. If you purchased an Italian-distributed iPhone in Thailand, it was imported and sold against Apple's terms and contracts and so you may indeed have problems getting it serviced since it will not show as being sold in the correct country. Using a SIM from another carrier is also unsupported. The only places in Thailand where can purchase an iPhone that will be supported by Apple in that country are True Move stores or Apple Premium Resellers. See:
    http://www.apple.com/asia/iphone/buy/#th
for links to approved locations. Any such iPhone sold will be supported only in Thailand.
At this point you're probably stuck since you have an unofficially-sold iPhone. Your best route will be to sell your current iPhone and purchase one from an official dealer in your country of residence. Do not buy one in any other country (unless you'll be in that country for months or years), whether it's unlocked or carrier-locked, or you'll have the same problem.

  • When will the unlocked iphone 5s be available in US?

When will the unlocked iphone 5s be available in US?

    xy0412 wrote:
    Are you sure?
    Yes.
Tim is correct. If purchased from an Apple store it will be fully unlocked. If purchased from a T-Mobile store or other partner store that is not an Apple Store it will be locked to T-Mobile.
In other words do not buy it directly from T-Mobile. Buy it from an Apple Store.
    Apple wrote:
If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed .... When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5s from a local GSM carrier
    That means its unlocked.

  • Will Apple Unlock a phone that has been reported as stolen?

Will Apple Unlock a phone that has been reported as stolen? My network provider has registered the iphone's IMEI as stolen; therefore I'm assuming that it will need to be unlocked by Apple...?

The Phone was not locked to a specific network provider .... as I purchased the phone independently.
I only have a SIM contract with the network provider, but the said that they would barr the SIM and then the phone using the IMEI. They said hat anyone wanting to use the phone would need to request an un-barr using the IMEI. Would request be made to my network provider .... can then then pass these details on?

  •  Will an unlocked iPhone 5 work on the Verizon network?

Will an unlocked iPhone 5 work on the Verizon network? I know this question is probably premature, I don't think apple has mentioned anything about it yet, but I saw that past unlocked iPhones (4 and 4S) would not work on Verizon. I'm a Verizon customer and I want to keep my unlimited data plan, the only way to do this is buy a iPhone at retail, but from what I saw regarding the 4 and 4S I may not be able to do this. I did read that the iPhone 4S is being made in three distinctive models, 1 with a CDMA network and 2 others with varied GSM - LTE networks. I'm hoping this means that an unlocked iPhone 5S can now run on the Verizon network. Any ideas if I'm correct? Thanks.

Honestly I'm not convinced to jump to sprint so quickly. I am monitoring my data as it is, I'm a heavy data user as I watch a lot of movies from Netflix Hulu plus crackle etc. the flip side of this is that I do most of this on my iPad, which I have currently unlimited data on, so I can still get by without unlimited data on my cell, it's more of me not wanting to lose what I have. But thanks for all the info. I'm secretly hoping that apple has redone the unlocked iPhones but I wont lose any sleep over wishful thinking. I'm just quite anal I guess lol. Thanks again

  • Will an unlocked iPhone 5s work in Spain?

I am moving to Spain for a year and would like to get a new iPhone before going. My plan is to buy an unlocked iPhone 5S from the apple store in the US, bring it to Spain, and use a Spanish phone company (vodafone, orange, yoigo,...) SIM when I get there.
Will the unlocked iPhone 5S that I can buy from the apple store in the US work there?
The model I can buy at the US apple store is A1533 (GSM).
    Thank you!

So, it would work over there. However, it would potentially be on 3G as opposed to 4G/LTE?
    Correct.
My recent experience in Spain was that cell service is excellent almost everywhere.

how can i unlock my iPhone 4s i bought off from eBay and is Verizon im current oversea i want to use a local sim card

First you'd have to establish service with Verizon. Once a paying customer in good standing, you can then request the GSM portion be unlocked. Obviously, you can't do any of that stuff while you're out of the US. They will not unlock the CDMA side.

There are no officially unlocked iPhone 5's available, in the US, at the present time. No announcement, as to availability has been made. The only unlocked iPhone, available now, is the iPhone 4 or 4S. Either of these versions will work, but will have no warranty or support in India. They can only be purchased directly from Apple, no where else.

  • When will the unlocked iphone 5 be available in the US store?

i was wondering when will the UNLOCKED iPhone 5 be available in the US store...
i found some UNLOCKED iPhones in the UK but they are so expensive.

I don't believe Apple has announced this.
An unlocked iPhone is expensive regardless. VAT is included with the sales price in the UK and the advertised price in the US does not include sales tax with the sales tax rate fluctuating depending on which city and state the iPhone is purchased. The sales tax rate where I live is 8.25%.

  • Bell Canada will not unlock iPhones.

On December 19th 2012, I tried to get Bell to unlock my old iPhone 3GS, Bell is openly telling their customers that they cannot unlock old iPhones because Apple will not allow them too, as long as I (current Bell customers) are under any kind of contract with Bell. Bell says Apple will not send them the "unlock code" to allow them to unlock the iPhone. I learned that was a flat out lie from an Apple customer service person that I called as soon as I hung up with Bell.
I have learned Bell is the only company in Canada that will not unlock iPhones, I have seen on the Internet that they are considering changing there rule for unlocking iPhones. I'm just wondering why Apple is allowing Bell to put Apple in a bad light like this when it is a flat out lie against Apple, hurting their reputation.
If anyone has any info on this subject feel free to let me know.

Nor will Virgin unlock iPhones.  When I asked a customer rep at a kiosk I was told Virgin does not unlock phones.
Virgin is subsiduary of Bell Mobility.

when the unlock iphone 5 come out, will the unlock iphone 4 price drop down?

We can't speak for Apple, but I highly doubt that there will be further price drops to the iPhone 4, not just because of the release of the unlocked iPhone 5, anyway.
