Window caption different in Webhelp Pro

I was looking to remove the search tab and any related
functionality as well as some other areas from my Webhelp Pro
project and it appears that i cannot find out where to do this. I
have a training manual that displays the windows properties for
HTML Help and there is a "Tri-pane tabs and windows" area that does
not appear in my windows properties.
Can anyone tell me where to find this information??

These are both bugs and I'd urge you to report them as such using this link. They more of us that report it, the more likely it is to be fixed in an update/patch. For the TOC display problem the workarounds. I have posted a blog entry on this here.

  • TOC/Search window not displayed in WebHelp Pro output

    Robohelp10, WebHelp Pro -
    I've got what I have to think is pretty fundamental question: When I generate my WebHelp Pro project, everything works perfectly until I move the contents of the output folder to a network drive for viewing. When the default topic opens, rather than displaying the TOC/Search window on the left, I'm getting a link that says "Show". Click that link, and the TOC opens right up.
    I would like to have the TOC displayed on that initial view, without requiring users to click the "Show" link.
    Again, when I view the results of the output on my local drive, the TOC is displayed. The obvious problem is, the generated help needs to reside on a network drive to be accessed by our users...
    PS: The project is on my local drive, only the contents of the output folder are being moved to the network drive. Also, everything other than the TOC display seems to be working fine.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Larry, Rick has solved your conditional build issue. However, do check to make sure you have all the updates installed for RoboHelp 10.
    WebHelp issues in RoboHelp versions 10 and 11
    I notice you are using IE. Does the Show link occur with Chrome or Firefox as well?
    Meanwhile, I'm still suspect that you are not opening the correct "default" start page file to launch the WebHelp and that's why you're getting that "Show" link. This is "tell-tale" that you are opening the default topic file instead of the default Start Page. By chance have you somehow named your "default topic", index.html? If so, this is not correct.

  • RH7- WebHelp Pro setting destination for RH Server 8

    I'm trying to set the RH Server 8 "area" in the Destination window using RH7 and WebHelp Pro layout but there's not field available. Because of this, the default is always the "general" area, which means I cannot separate out my 4-5 projects for reporting purposes using the Access database.
    FYI - The same is true for FlasHelp Pro layout using RH7 and RH8 (which I'm testing). However, in RH8, you can specify the area if you're using WebHelp Pro as primary layout.
    Since I'm not allowed to switch to RH8 at this time because of internal procedures, I want to publish my projects using WebHelp Pro layout in RH7. Is there any way to plug the server area into the project without having to redo the set up every time?

    My guess is that John is facilitating a class as he hasn't yet made an appearance. So maybe near lunchtime but more likely this evening unless he is traveling.
    Just speculating on this but as Colum indicated, areas are new to 8 so I'd be shocked to see them being listed as an option in a patched up 7.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Merged WebHelp Pro projects in RH8 - CSH options not working

    Hi -
    We are trying to upgrade from RH7 to RH8. Currently, we have several context-sensitive WebHelp Pro projects that are merged on the RH7 Pro server. To accomplish this, we simply select the "merge projects" check box in the Admin tool. (Nothing is done in the RoboHelp client w/respect to merging as must be performed with non-Pro projects.)
    The master project is master by virtue of being listed first in the Web Administrator. The order of the remaining projects defines their order in the merged Help TOC. The master project specifies two named custom windows and a custom skin. In the WebHelp Pro options for the child projects, we set Skin = Default and Default Window = None.
    The Help implementation is context-sensitive using map IDs. Some have the older context strings, defined in their respective projects' .ppf file. All works as expected in RH7. When a map ID is called from one of our applications, the individual Help topic inherits the master project's custom window and skin. The topic with the specified map ID or context string appears in the right-hand pane of the custom frameset. The TOC lists the topics of all merged projects. We used the RoboHelp-supplied RoboHelp_CSH.js in the design of the Help system. The call looks like this:
    <a
    href="javascript:RH_ShowHelp(0,'http://<ServerURL>/roboapi.asp>MyHelpWindow',HH_HELP_CONTEXT,'5108')">Help</a>
    We don't specify a project name and the server is happy (still resolves the map ID). For RH8, we have set things up identically on the server. However, the 'child' projects are not inheriting the 'look' (window/skin) defined in the master project. Either that, or the map IDs are not resolving. We also have a single-pane window defined in the master project for Help pop-ups, which now insists on appearing with the other custom window's frameset (button bar, TOC, and topic pane). We have changed nothing, other than importing the RH7 projects into the RH8 client. The server's "merge" check box is selected. The call to Help for RH8 needed to change and so far looks like this:
    <a href=http://<serverURL>/<context>/server?area=Area_51&ctxid=5108&wnd=MyHelpWindow>Help</a>
    Note that we haven't tackled using the Robohelp_CSH.js file that is packaged with RH8 yet. First things first, i.e. make sure server is running correctly and we have devined the new parameter syntax correctly. The question is, what needs to change for our Help application to work in RH8? The link specified above displays the correct HTML frameset, but the topic pane is empty/blank. If we leave out wnd=MyHelpWindow, we get the correct topic, but it apears in the user's default browser window, with no TOC. Also, if we target the single-pane window I mentioned above, it appears in the expected size and location defined in the master project, but it is multi-paned (again, with a blank topic pane).
    Here is one observation. We did find that in the RH7 Web Admin, selecting the master project and clicking View Project shows the master's default topic in the custom frameset. Doing the same for some child projects, they display their default topic in a plain window (no frameset). In RH8, many child projects would display the default RoboHelp frameset and a 404 error in the topic pane. By carefully investigating the child projects' NewWindow settings, we've found that RH8 is particularly sensitive if those settings are anything other than having 'One Pane' and 'Use Default Browser Settings' selected.
    Does anyone know why this is still not working? Any help appreciated.

    Hi RoboHobo,
    Unfortunately my previous post got a little messed up. I wanted to point you to link http://forums.adobe.com/message/2220336#2220336 , but somehow the url for that hyperlink was set incorrectly and it pointed to another post of mine.
    Anyways I hope this one gets posted properly. The workaround I was talking about is this(just a copy paste from my other post) :
    The page that you get has javascript code to open a popup window to launch page containing context sensitive help. If you view source of the page you get for CSH link, you will find it has javascript code like :
    <script language="JavaScript" src="/robohelp/robo//server/resource/window.js"></script>
    <script language="JavaScript">
    //function Main()
            var cWnd = new CWindow();
            cWnd.m_bUseProp = 1;
            cWnd.m_strFrameName = 'DHW_TestCSH|RHS_CSH';
            cWnd.m_strURL  = '/robohelp/server?%26mgr%3Dagm%26agt%3Dwsm%26wnd%3DTestCSH%7CRHS_CSH%26tpc%3D%2 Frobohelp%2Frobo%2Fserver%2Fgeneral%2Fprojects%2FTestCSH%2FTopic1.htm%26ctxid%3D 2%26project%3DTestCSH';
            SetRect( cWnd, 5, 5, 90, 90, 0, 0, 0, 0 );
            SetProperty( cWnd, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1 );
            Execute( cWnd );
    </script>
    May be you have popup blocker enabled in your browser and that’s why popup window containing the help doesn’t open up.
    The reason its launched in a separate browser window is so that CSH window properties specified in help layout can be applied on the new window.
    If you have to do away with the popup window and want the page to open directly by entering the URL, then there is a workaround, but in that case your CSH window won’t have the properties specified in Webhelp Pro window used while publishing Webhelp Pro to RoboHelp Server 8.
    The workaround is as follows:
    1) Backup <RHS8_Install>/WEB-INF/SysWebPrjLst/wnd_ie_iframe.asp and <RHS8_Install>/WEB-INF/SysWebPrjLst/wnd_ns_window.asp
    2) Stop Tomcat service
    3) Edit <RHS8_Install>/WEB-INF/SysWebPrjLst/wnd_ie_iframe.asp and <RHS8_Install>/WEB-INF/SysWebPrjLst/wnd_ns_window.asp and copy following text in these files:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; url=<%=strWorkspaceURL%>">
    </head>
    <body>
    <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">The help page you are looking for can be found at <a href="<%=strWorkspaceURL%>">here</a>.</font>
    </body>
    </html>
    4) Delete all files in <RHS8_Install>/robo/server/resource
    5) Start tomcat service again
    Now the CSH url should take you directly to the help page you are looking for.
    Regards
    Tulika.

  • Windows settings for Webhelp Pro

    When I set my settings in the window option to 2 pane instead
    of 1 pane for my webhelp pro layout It doesn't save my preferance
    and reverts back to "Default".
    Does anyone know if this is a bug and how I can get my 2 pane
    setting to save?

    I had a similar problem when creating a window to use for
    WebHelp: None of the window size settings would save.
    I ended up deleting the window completely from the project
    and creating it again from scratch. That solved the problem.

  • Webhelp Pro Wizard - Limitations

    Hello,
    I am trying my first project in RoboHelp, and am beginning
    from 0 so I can understand each step. I've tried to generate
    different outputs. When trying the Webhelp Pro, the first 2 or 3
    times it worked beautiful, but as I began to add more text and
    tried the same thing it compiled ok and when I've tried to view the

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Making a duplicate copy of a RoboHelp WebHelp Pro project in RH9

    Greetings forum friends,
    I wanted to seek your suggestions for a procedure for creating a new project from an existing project.
    The use case here is to create the help system for your recently updated project, which requires a new help project.
    Here is the general process I am considering:
    1. Copy original Project Files to a new location on the local file system
    2. Open the project from the new location - either browse to project file using Windows Explorer, or open it from RH9.
    3. Rename the project folder and File > Rename Project
    4. Rename the Project Title in the Project Settings
    5. Update Help topics with the new version.
    6. Publish the project and confirm the availability in the RH Server Admin page
    Does this process seem agreeable? Any suggestions?
    The reason I ask about this is that we have begun seeing an odd issue where some of our projects are displaying twice in the RH9 Server Admin page.
    We have removed the references from Admin and the webserver, and have republished but we see the same results.
    Any suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi Eric.
    The "General" area is the default location for all WebHelp Pro project output. This area has certain defaults to it that are designed to allow someone to install RHServer and use it out of the box. However in the real world you may find that this area on its own does not meet your requirements.
    Think of each area on the RHServer as a directory into which you publish your output. If you have ProjectA and ProjectB, you can publish their output to the same area without issue. However if you have two versions of ProjectA, there are potential pitfalls. Now I don't know what you have done with the new version of your project but if you haven't carried out your duplication correctly and published the output to the same area, you could have two different versions of the output in the same location.
    Personally I always publish each version to its own distinct RHServer area that you can setup in the Web Administrator. This is set in the Edit Destination dialog as you describe. The only thing to consider here is that the path to the help would differ to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp Server 8\robo\server\<area>\projects where <area> is the area name. You may want to read the RH Server Reviewers Guide which expalins more about this area.
    This keeps things much simpler and neater. This works for us also as each area contains a single help file made up of over 15 merged RoboHelp projects. If I was to publish multiple version of each version to the same area, I'd get VERY confused VERY quickly! This maybe taking things a little too far for you but we also subdivide our output into different RHServer contexts which are setup in the Configuration Manager. For example we have contexts for ProductA Versions 1-10, ProductA Versions 11-20, ProductA Versions 21-30, ProductB Versions 1-10, ProductB Versions 11-20, etc.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
    I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
    Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck

    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
    I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
    using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
    I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
    I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
    Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
    Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
    My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.

    I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:

    currently the system seems to have lost all update history
    Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
    Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?

    Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
    This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
    Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
    There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
    I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.

  • I get an error message when trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. The message says "windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have anything connected to my computer. How do I fix this?

    I'm trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. I went through the process of bootcamp telling it to install windows 7. Once the windows boot manager started an error message came up. The error message says " windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have a usb connected to my computer. I  am using windows 7 professional install disc. I  can't figure out what i am doing wrong. The same message keeps coming up over and over. Am I doing something wrong or is it something else?

    Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
    I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
    Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
    "P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

  • Search not Working in Webhelp or Webhelp Pro

    I am currently running Adobe Robohelp version 10.  I have several different RH files that I manage (desk procedures) and in each of the ones that I manage, my latest publishings have broken search functions.  What I mean by broke: it will search some words just fine, but others that I know are in my desk procedures show "no topics found".   Some of my files are published using webhelp and some webhelp pro, with the same problem.
    I have done the following:
    1) Gone back to a backed up file dated 05/01/2014 (that the search seems to be working just fine in) and done edits to it, published and it breaks the search.
    2) I have gone back to the working 05/01/2014 file and done nothing to it except publish it and it breaks.
    3) Checked the button to clear the cache
    4) From Webhelp Settings Option I have:
    ·         Changed output folder that it publishes to (which is on a local drive before I transfer it to the network drive)
    ·         I have enabled substring search (which actually does allow it to render some results, but not all the results it should)
    ·         Tried to click “Republish All” setting
    5) Created new (not duplicate) webhelp layout
    6) Checked that language is set to English (US)
    7) Ensured that the words that I know aren’t searching aren’t included in the ignore and stop list.
    8) Tried switching from DHTML > Pure HTML to just Pure HTML
    9) I noticed that the Output view generates the following message :
                    Processing Full-text-search data...
    Finished processing Full-Text-Search data in 0 sec(s)
    10) Deleted the “webhelp” file from the !SSL! folder and then republished it
    11) The biggest finds that I have are the following:
    ·         That publishing the file is what seems to break the search functionality
    ·         When the file is published a few of the files in the !SSL! folder are substantially smaller than they were in the working file:
    o   WHXDATA
    o   WHGDATA
    Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Shannon

  • Installing windows 7 on mac book pro late 2013

    Installing Windows 7 on Mac Book Pro Late 2013
    Background
    Mac Book Pro Late 2013 uses a USB 3.0 hub for the external ports, the keyboard and mouse devices.
    Windows 7 does not have the drivers to support USB 3.0 ports so these must be integrated into the boot.wim and install.win files so that Win7 can be installed and used on a Mac. If these drivers are not integrated when win7 is booted up then the mouse and keyboard will not function.
    Requirements:
    Two USB Flash drives
    Access to a Mac computer
    Bootcamp Assistant application
    Access to a Windows computer with windows 7 installed
    Windows 7 install disk or ISO file
    WinUSB application
    Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7 (WAIK)
    Method
    On a Mac
    First prepare a USB Flash drive by formatting it using disk util app, found in Application Utility folder, to FAT format this will store the Apple drivers that can be downloaded from Apple using BootCamp.
    This will be called USB1
    Using Boot Camp Assistant select 'Download the latest windows support software from Apple'  to get the files from apple for win7 for your particular machine these will be downloaded and copied to the USB Flash drive called USB1.
    On a PC
    Using a PC download a copy of WinUSB from  www.joshcellsoftwares.com this software can create a bootable USB with the win 7 files copied on to it.
    Obtain a copy of Windows 7 either in DVD or ISO format.
    Using WinUSB and the Win7 DVD create a second bootable USB Flash drive. This will be called USB 2.
    About DISM
    DISM is a windows application that allows the editing of windows image files with the extension of WIM.
    If DISM is not installed on the PC it can be downloaded from windows website.
    To test to see if DISM is installed, open up a command prompt. Then type 'dism' without the quotes this will display the help description of DISM.
    Drivers
    The apple drivers need to be added to the boot.wim file so that mouse and keyboard can function during the setup phase.
    The apple drivers need to be added to the install.wim so that mouse and keyboard can function after the setup phase.
    The video drivers are also added as it appears to cause problems if they are not included.
    Create a directory structure like this:
    c:\appleboot\
    drvrs
    mount
    win7x64install
    win7x64boot
    Create the following files in c:\appleboot\ with the following code:
    adddrivers.cmd
    color 0a
    dism /image:c:\appleboot\mount /add-driver /driver:c:\appleboot\drvrs /recurse
    ================================================================================ ==========
    mountboot.wim.cmd
    color 0a
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\appleboot\boot.wim /index:2 /mountdir:c:\appleboot\mount
    ================================================================================ ==========
    mountinstall.wim.cmd
    color 0a
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\appleboot\install.wim /index:4 /mountdir:c:\appleboot\mount
    ================================================================================ ==========
    unmountcommitfiles.cmd
    color 0a
    dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\appleboot\mount /commit
    ================================================================================ ==========
    Copy the following files into their respective directories:
    Copy from USB 1 into drvrs the $WinPEDriver$ directory
    Copy from USB 2 \sources\boot.wim to win7x64boot directory, this will store the original file
    Copy from USB 2 \sources\install.wim to win7x64install directory, this will store the original file
    Then copy boot.wim from win7x64boot directory to the c:\appleboot\ directory
    Then copy install.wim from win7x64install directory to the c:\appleboot\ directory
    Once all the copying is completed then run the following cmd files in this order:
    For boot.wim
    mountboot.wim.cmd - this will mount the file for adding of drivers
    adddrivers.cmd - this will add the apple drivers to the mounted boot.wim
    unmountcommitfiles.cmd – this will commit the changes and unmount the boot.wim
    For install.wim
    mountinstall.wim.cmd- this will mount the file for adding of drivers
    adddrivers.cmd - this will add the apple drivers to the mounted install.wim
    unmountcommitfiles.cmd – this will commit the changes and unmount the install.wim
    Copy the files back to USB 2
    Copy the boot.wim and install.wim files from c:\appleboot\ directory  to USB 2 sources directory and overwrite the files.
    BOOTABLE USB
    You will now have a bootable USB Flash Drive that has the additional drivers needed to install Win7 on Mac Book Pro Late 2013.
    Mac Preparation
    On your Mac using Disk Util reduce the size of the partition of Macintosh HD so that there is approx. 80GB free for the use of Win7.
    Add a second partition, label it win7 and format it to FAT. This is so that win 7 setup can identify the correct partition.
    Installing Windows 7
    Insert USB 2 into your Mac and reboot, whilst holding the option key down.
    After reboot there will be three icons displayed one is the Mac operating system, the second is the recovery partition and the third is an orange icon indicating a bootable USB drive.
    Select this and win7 setup application will proceed to boot up with the keyboard and mouse functioning.
    Follow the prompts and when the drive selection appears select the win7 partition and format it to NTFS so that win7 can be installed. When windows setup reboots press and hold down the option key and select the windows partition so that setup can continue to install.
    After completion of installation of win7 insert USB 1 with the additional apple drivers. Goto the bootcamp directory and click on setup.exe file this will install additional drivers needed to use Win7 on a Mac.
    Once completed reboot your Mac and select windows to allow the drivers to update in windows.

    Yes this is correct that the /index:4 refers to the ultimate version of windows in mountinstall.wim.cmd
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\appleboot\install.wim /index:4 /mountdir:c:\appleboot\mount
    Users should do what applekryzzle suggested if you have a different version of windows. Thanks for the tip applekryzzle.
    With regards to the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller drivers they are the ones that are provided by apple via boot camp assistant.
    These appear to work correctly and downloading as per instructions simplifies the procedure.
    For those that are interesred the updated drivers can be found here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22824&ProdId=346 7&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%20*&DownloadType=Drivers
    I have also seen in other discussions that some users get black screens i believe that it is the lack of video drivers which is included in the download from apple using boot camp assistant.
    I'm certain that this works on Mac Book Pro Late 2013 models and i feel confident that this will work with other models.
    I will appreciate any feedback if this works on other models.

    if my external hard drive is not connected to either of my machines, and I download something onto my iMac and then something different onto my Macbook, where are my machines going to be storing the new downloaded media
    when the drive is not connected, +iTunes media folder location+ will default back to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music/iTunes/iTunes music (or media)
    and when I next connect the external hard drive how will I easily get the newly downloaded media onto the external HD
    you'd have to point +iTunes media folder location+ back to the external via preferences > advanced > iTunes media folder location, then file > library, organize library > consolidate files
    and essentially, to have it easily readable on both machines?
    in that case it might be best to copy the entire iTunes folder to the external. then, on each machine, launch iTunes while pressing option on your keyboard. when prompted, click on +choose library+ and navigate to the iTunes folder on the external.
    note only one iTunes can access the iTunes library @ a time !
    also, make sure the external is mounted on either machine before launching iTunes.

  • Using Windows 8 with my macbook pro

    Hello,
    I currently have a problem to install Windows 8.
    Last week, I bought a Windows' 8 license.
    The configuration of my macbook pro is the following :
    - i7 2,3 Ghz (four cores)
    - 8 Gb of RAM
    - A 256 Go SSD
    - A 750 Go Hybrid-disc
    - OS X 10.8.2
    So I removed the Superdrive but I bought an ASUS external USB disc-drive (witch works with OS X)
    I inserted the Windows 64 bits disc in the USB drive and I created a 50 Go partition for Windows on the SSD (FAT) with Bootcamp.
    After this process, my macbook reboot but it bloked on the PC's shell interface without message, just the cursor (Right-Top).
    I tried to reboot many times and to use the 32 bits disc but it is alredy the same.
    I also tried to boot using the "C" key, the CD boot, i can see the fourth blue square on the screen, and durind 2 or 3 second the charging animation but after it says that there is an error (new blue screen very very quickly), or a black screen with somes information like "Error 00000050x0...".
    However, I tried the alt key. 2 solutions :
    - "Windows 8", it is like the first situation (black screen with sursor)
    - "EFI boot" (it appeared once), the computer boot on the CD, I can acces to menus and tell the name of the hard disc I want for the installation. But when I want to continue, a window appear with a EFI problem and he says to reboot with a different configuration (but I am not sur).
    What can I do to install windows 8 on my macbook pro ?
    I need it for Solidworks...
    Thank you for your answers.

  • IE10 Fix Does Not Appear to Work for My WebHelp Pro Project

    I am testing a WebHelp Pro project that was originally created in RH9, but is now being generated in RH10.0.1. (I am working on a Windows 7 (64-bit) OS, with IE10.) With the RH application closed, I copied the two "FixForRH10Install" folders into my WebHelp5Ext folder, as directed. Then, after reopening the app, I recompiled my project. Unfortunately, whether I view my primary layout locally or publish it to a server, I still see the same problem with the output in IE10. Initially, I see the TOC panel on the left and the default topic on the right. But if I click a link in the topic, in the TOC, in the Index, or in a Search result, I get nothing in the right side of the screen--just a blank with progress "swirl" endlessly swirling. (For what it's worth, if I right-click in the blank screen or on a TOC link, the topic will finally display.)
    Is anyone else experiencing this? Even with this "fix," the only way I can make my Help display properly is to use IE10's Compatibility View.

    Did you paste the folders to the WebHelp5Ext or to the same name folder within? The latter is not the correct procedure.
    You have to drag the supplied folders to where I have shown, you do not paste them over the top of the old template_skin and template_skinpreview folders. When you drag to the correct location, you will be asked if you want to merge the folders, confirm you do.
    If you have dragged to the old folders, sub-folders will have been created that you need to reverse out.
    The template_skin folder should not have any sub-folders.
    The template_skinpreview folder should have a template_skin sub folder but that should not have any further sub-folders.
    The patch does work once you have regenerated so I am pretty sure that is where you problem is. If you are not sure about all this, you may want to get IT or a developer to assist. Whilst it will not impact this problem, also make sure you have applied the recent patch.

  • IE Pop-up Blocker activates on Webhelp, Webhelp Pro

    Recently acquired RoboHelp Pro to migrate MS Word docs to an
    on-line format. The corp IT environment does not allow local admin
    permission for users. We installed the application w/admin rights,
    and then returned the log-in to normal access.
    I have been testing the tutorial (Destinations). When I view
    the output in IE (6.0 SP2), the pop-up blocker activates. It does
    not activate with the SS layout is Microsoft HTML Help. It affects
    WebHelp and WebHelp Pro. I have tried to change the Active X
    controls in IE, and add the start file to the Trusted Sites.
    I can "allow Active X content from this site", and display
    the top window, but have to repeat every time the file loads. The
    left navigation window displays without problems.
    Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any suggestions?

    Hi Charles Arnold and welcome to our community
    This should only occur if you view content locally off your
    PC. Once you place the output on a server, your users should not
    see this issue.
