    Yes .You can discard the panel close event by passing "TRUE" boolean value to the "discard ?" terminal which is lied in the right side of that panel close(filter) event.& It will work in executables.  See attached picture.

  • Window: close event handler

    I have a button (action="dialog:ADD_MEMBER" useWindow="true" windowEmbedStyle="inlineDocument" windowModalityType="applicationModal" windowHeight="600" windowWidth="700"), which open a new window in the same TaskFlow. This window can be closed by using the special (my af:commandButton) button and by using common window close button ('X'). I want to write my custom close event handler in the second case. How can I do it?

    Hi,
    don't think you can. Did you check ifthe return listener fires ?

  • Get the window close event !

    Hello !
    I have a popup window...
    I want to, when I close the popup window, something will be executed...
    I tried the OnUnload on the popup window... it worked, but it also executes when I reload the popup window !!!
    I just want to execute what I want ONLY when I really CLOSE the popup window...
    Any help???
    Tried "if (window.closed) ..." but didnt work, its always false on the popup window...

    The same question was discussed many a times here. You just can't capture this event stright. You need to search for workarounds.

  • How to mark window close button as "unsaved"?

    Using SWT, you can change the main window quit/close icon/button (in upper left corner of title bar) to indicate that the file/whatever of the application has not been saved. The code to do that in SWT is something like this -
    Shell shell = new Shell(new Display(), SWT.CLOSE | SWT.TITLE | SWT.BORDER | SWT.MIN);
    shell.setModified(true);
    Is this feature available in Java FX 2.2? If not, has there been a bug/request filed for it?

    I had a question going in the same direction: "Is there any way to disable the close button in a decorated stage?" but from your answer to the previous question, I guess this is not possible... could you please confirm this? A workaround would be to set an event handler to consume the window close event. Looks like I'll need to go that way. Or could you suggest a better way?I don't think it's possible with to disable the button in JavaFX 2.2 - if you did, it would provide an inconsistent native windowing experience for the user anyway as I've never seen a close button on a Windows 7 app disabled.
    However, as you point out, you can capture (and handle or ignore) the events if generated. You can do this by setting an onCloseRequest event handler for the window and calling event.consume() in the handler. (relevant javadoc comment):
    https://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/stage/Window.html#setOnCloseRequest%28javafx.event.EventHandler%29
    Called when there is an external request to close this Window. The installed event handler can prevent window closing by consuming the received event.------
    You could check out my related answer at StackOverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12874664/javafx-entirely-customized-windows, for some other thoughts on this on customizing decorated and undecorated windows, but I think most has already been said in this thread.

  • How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?

    How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?
    I have a HTML extension running in In-design CC 2014 version.
    I want to perform some required set of actions before my extension window is closed(by clicking on the cross button on top right corner).
    Does In-design throws any event for it? Or can we capture it using C++ plugin in some way?

    Naah.......haven't got any event for that yet.
    Although, since HTML extensions are using chromium browser,  as a workaround, u can attach listener to HTML onClose event, but it won't solve any purpose if you
    are looking to logout session or do some business login in your code.

  • Closing a Swing App with Window Closing Event With Dialogs On Close

    A while back I started a thread discussing how to neatly close a Swing app using both the standard window "X" button and a custom action such as a File menu with an Exit menu item. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the cleanest solution in many cases is to use a default close operation of JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE and in any custom actions manually fire a WindowEvent with WindowEvent.WINDOW_CLOSING. Using this strategy, both the "X" button and the custom action act in the same manner and can be successfully intercepted by listening for a window closing event if any cleanup is required; furthermore, the cleanup could use dialogs to prompt for user actions without any ill effects.
    I did, however, encounter one oddity that I mentioned in the previous thread. A dialog launched through SwingUtilities.invokeLater in the cleanup method would cause the app to not shutdown. This is somewhat of an academic curiosity as I am not sure you would ever have a rational need to do this, but I thought it would be interesting to explore more fully. Here is a complete example that demonstrates; see what you think:
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
    import javax.swing.BoxLayout;
    import javax.swing.JButton;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    import javax.swing.SwingUtilities;
    public class CloseByWindowClosingTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                   public void run() {
                        launchGUI();
         private static void launchGUI() {
              final JFrame frame = new JFrame("Close By Window Closing Test");
              JPanel panel = new JPanel();
              panel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(panel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              JButton button1 = new JButton("No Dialog Close");
              JButton button2 = new JButton("Dialog On Close");
              JButton button3 = new JButton("Invoke Later Dialog On Close");
              button1.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                        postWindowClosingEvent(frame);
              button2.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, "Test Dialog");
                        postWindowClosingEvent(frame);
              button3.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                        SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                             public void run() {
                                  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, "Test Dialog");
                        postWindowClosingEvent(frame);
              panel.add(button1);
              panel.add(button2);
              panel.add(button3);
              frame.setContentPane(panel);
              frame.pack();
              frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              frame.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
                   @Override
                   public void windowClosing(WindowEvent event) {
                        System.out.println("Received Window Closing Event");
              frame.setVisible(true);
         private static void postWindowClosingEvent(JFrame frame) {
              WindowEvent windowClosingEvent = new WindowEvent(frame, WindowEvent.WINDOW_CLOSING);
              frame.getToolkit().getSystemEventQueue().postEvent(windowClosingEvent);
    }An additional note not in the example -- if in the button 3 scenario you were to put the window closing event posting inside the invoke later, the app then again closes. However, as implemented, what is it that causes button 3 to not result in the application closing?
    Edited by: Skotty on Aug 11, 2009 5:08 PM -- Modified example code -- added the WindowAdapter to the frame as a window listener to show which buttons cause listeners to receive the window closing event.

    I'm not sure I understand why any "cleanup" code would need to use SwingUtilities.invokeLater() to do anything. Assuming this "cleanup method" was called in response to a WindowEvent, it's already being called on the EDT.
    IIRC, my approach to this "problem" was to set the JFrame to DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE. I create a "doExit()" method that does any cleanup and exits the application (and possibly allows the user to cancel the app closing, if so desired). Then I create a WindowListener that calls doExit() on windowClosingEvents, and have my "exit action" call doExit() as well. Seems to work fine for me.

  • How To Get The CLOSE Event In a JSP File?

    Hello everybody,
    Right now I am working in a JSP project which is about access log, when the users start , oprate, or close the system, the access log system works. I am in trouble in that when the users close the system, how can I get the close event?
    The JSP file contains the following fields :
    Close Window
    How to add code to get the CLOSE Event and submit to the service?
    And If I hit the "Close Button"(on the right-top of the window), how can I get the CLOSE event, too?
    Can anyone tell me?

    1. Add a hidden field:
    <input type="hidden" id="status" value="">2. modify <a href="index.jsp" onclick ="parent.window.close( );">Close Window</a> with <a href="index.jsp" onclick ="closefn();">Close Window</a>3. Add a javascript
    <script language="javascript">function closefn(){
    document.getElementById('status').value="close";
    document.form.action="";
    document.form.method="post";
    document.form.submit();
    parent.window.close( );
    }4. Now on the action page get the value of status by request.getParameter("status"); and log it.

  • Problems using window.close() and setting fields

    Hi,
    I have two problems:
    First one is:
    I created a simple JSP with 'Save' and 'Exit' Buttons. In the Exit button on click event I invoked a function closeWindow, which calls teh window.close(). But on clicking Exit, the window does not close. Can anyone please tell me why.
    Second one is:
    The JSP also needs to get loaded with some values in the Textfields. Theses values are extracted from a text field using a Java class. I am able to see that these values are extracted from the text file and are loaded into Java vars, but when I am trying to set this value into a text field, it is NOT getting set.
    (filePathDetails is the instance of the class that extracts the text values)
    The entire code is posted below:

    Thanks in advance.

    Try the following..
    For problem 1:
    Use window.close() instead of window.closeWindow().
    For the second problem
    don't call the function setPaths() at onload. Rather
    call the function after the page is loaded. You can
    try like this.
    If it doesn't work then check whether the browser is
    giving any JavaScript error message.
    <SCRIPT type="text/javascript">
    setPaths() ;
         function setPaths(){
         alert(document.pathDetails.element[0].value);
    document.pathDetails.element[0].value =
    = <%=filePathDetails.localDirPath1 %>;
              alert(document.pathDetails.element[0].value);
              with(document.pathDetails){
    textAncPath1.value =
    e = <%=filePathDetails.localDirPath1 %>;
    textAncPath2.value =
    e = <%=filePathDetails.localDirPath2 %>;
    textArchivePath.value =
    e = <%=filePathDetails.archiveDirPath %>;
    textLogPath.value = <%=filePathDetails.logFilePath
    ath %>;
         function closeWindow(){
              window.closeWindow();
    </SCRIPT>Hi,
    Actually I did try window.close(), but I still am not able to close the current window.
    And as for the problem of setting up the field values, sorry the given solution doesnt seem to work. :-(..
    I have pasted the entire code, I dont know where teh flaw is. Please review the same and let me know.
    Your help is very much appreciated.

  • First time data is not transported to pop up window through event handler

    Hi all,
    I am using NWDS 7.0, Now I want to open a pop up on click of a action link.
    There are two DCs DC-A and DC-B.
    I am calling action from DC-A to DC-B. DC-B contains view of pop up window.
    In DC-A I am using intreface controller of DC-B by using used coponents.
    Now In the DC-B used components I have created one fireplugin which is connected ith pop up view of DC-B and that firplugin is called from DC-A action to transport data from Dc-A to DC-B.
    Problem : when I click first time to open pop-up window then event handler is not called but the windows opened. When I close that window and again open the transported data start displaying on pop up window.
    So can you please help me that why first time data is not transported to pop up window.
    Thanks
    Kaushal

    You'll need to use an OARawTextBean. Oracle doesn't support opening links in new windows using OAFormattedTextBean. Just be aware that you'll need to set the CSS class in the HTML as well if you need it formatted a certain way.

  • Memory leaks during child window close

    Hi All,
       We have a tool that generates code for WPF application. In one of the applications WPF main window displays a child window in the form of a tab. The main window here can hold multiple child windows. I did a small test. I opened main window and
    took memory snapshot with the help of .Net memory profiler. Opened child window and closed it immediately. I took snapshot again and compared with the previous one. To my surprise , many new objects/collections have been active in the heap and due to this
    memory consumption got increased almost exponentially.  If I open and close more and more child windows then memory consumption is keep on increasing.
    During child window close , I am performing all the clean up like clearing all collections , hashmaps etc. As per the suggestions mentioned in forums , I am taking care of cleaning up all the members data like DispatcherTimer , unregistering event handlers
    etc. But still memory is not being freed up even after closing the child window. As per the profiler output most of the memory has been occupied by Hashtable , Hastable.bucket[]. Profiler even reported few pinned instances as well but it looks everything is
    evident from framework API not from my code. I could see styles, controltemplates , System resources etc as active and reachable objects.
    I am just wondering am I getting affected by framework flaws or could there be anything I can do in my source to get rid of this memory leak. Request your comment and appreciate your help on this.
    Thanks,
    Brahmaji.

    Hi ,
     Thanks for the response. Basically I first opened parent panel which is of type Window. It included menu , toolbar etc. For menu/toolbar events it opens child windows which gets displayed in main window in the form of tabs. This is my use case.
    I tried the suggested profiler Redgate Ants profiler. Its very good and informative! I ran the profiler
    got the following output. Though I closed the child window it seems objects are still there in memory . No where I left out string , byte array objects in my code.
    Not sure why Runtimemethodinfo , hastable bucket are there in memory. I even tried the workaround mentioned at here.
    I thought panel resources might have not been freed up and in my code I am clearing them as well. Still did not see much improvement. Any additional things do I need to check? Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Brahmaji.

  • Catching window closing events from JFrame

    I'm having problems catching windowClosing() events from a JFrame (just doesn't get to my event listener it would seem!).
    I register and setup a window listener in the constructor of my JFrame class. Prior to this I set the default close operation as DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE (as you're suppose to if tyou want to handle window closing events).
    When user clicks on x (window terminate) button (in WIN systems), nothing is dispatched to my event listener. Any ideas?
    Extract from constructor:
    setDefaultCloseOperation(DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE);
    addWindowListener(new MainWindowListener(this));
    MainWindowListener looks as follows (EDImemConvert extends JFrame):
    class MainWindowListener extends WindowAdapter
    private EDImemConvert f;
    public MainWindowListener(EDImemConvert f)
    this.f = f;
    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e)
    System.out.println("gets here...");
    f.ReturnResources();
    f.dispose();
    System.exit(0);
    }

    This works for meimport java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Test extends JFrame {
      public Test() {
        addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
          public void windowClosing(WindowEvent we) { System.exit(0); }
        setSize(300,300);
        setVisible(true);
      public static void main(String args[]) { new Test(); }
    }Normally, I just use this line
    setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
    instead of adding a listener. It will clean up everything nicely.

  • Call Webservice/API during browser close event

    Hello,
    I am using JDEV 11g. My application catches the browser close event to call a return Task Flow.
    I am wondering if its possible to call a webservice/API during the same event.
    Thanks

  • Handling Mac Close events

    I'm having an issue handling the various close event when running my application on a Mac. (all fine on Windows)
    When loading the page I execute this statement:
    window.nativeWindow.addEventListener(air.Event.CLOSING, MainWindow_OnClosing);
    The code to handle this event is as follows:
    var MainWindow_OnClosing = function(event){
            event.preventDefault();
            window.nativeWindow.visible = false;
    I need this handler so that the application returns to the Doc when hitting the standard Chrome close button.
    The problem I have is that this event also fires when a user hits the Command-Q comment (and also when the user shuts down the mac). This prevent the application from closing which is not what I want to do. The only way to close the application seems to be the ForceQuit command.
    Does anyone know of a way to distinguish between the close event from the Chrome close button and the close event from the Command-Quit or shutdown event?

    Yeh, thing is these are just data object, not anything graphical... but i want my graphical components to update when their data is changed.
    Ive actually just now re-organised it a bit, ive set up each data object to have its own listeners, where as before i had the gui component had listeners...
    Is there anything in the java api that i could extend to include listeners? otherwise ill just make one...

  • Does PopUpManager "close" event remove PopUp from memory?

    I'm using a lot of popup windows (in addition to tooltips) in an application.  Does the PopUpManager's close event remove the popup from memory?  If not, I'd like to find out how this could be done.
    Thanks.

    on close, you need to call PopupManager.removePopup(this) here this is the popup. and make sure that this popup does not have any strong references/event handlers listening to custom events /events
