Windows 7, 64 bit, iTunes 10.3. Nothing works anymore! I keep getting error 7, 14001 along with a side by side app error. I've tried wiping out all apple programs and re-installing a 100 times, nothing works. I've been messing with this 2 weeks!
I've searched the net , and I've noticed a lot of people seem to b having this same problem. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm out of options and getting rather annoyed with apple. Please help me! I think I've given all the info needed about my operating system. Windows 7, 64 bit, iTunes 10.3. I've erased everything re-installed it, no joy; removed again and downloaded QuickTime and iTunes separately, no good; I've removed and re-installed numerous different ways, numerous times and nothing works. Was not enough room to finish. I tried to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall but I was asked to validate an unidentified publisher and don't have a clue what that is and could not remove programs. I am not good at fixing stuff on the computer and would like some help with this. I have had iTunes for a long time without issue.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.
Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad? I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.

My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.
Can someone please help ?I am having all sorts of problems with 9.1.1.Crashes and not only iTunes but I have to restart all the time.

I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update, 11.4.62 (on a PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it (Ugh). First result Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there. Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I have two iCloud contact files shown in outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud". 1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere. This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook? You can safely assume that I have tried using it! So, to make things a little clearer:
1) I now have two iCloud "contacts files", w/ a different total count. What's the difference? Why the different toatl count?
2) Since re-installing the Apple software (part of the MSVCR" recovery instructions) "couldn't possible affected Outlook", why am I getting an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere. What's in those files? And where are they?
Probably more important questions get down to:
3) Why is a basic Apple product upgrade "screwing-up Outlook"? This iTunes upgrade, failing to install properly forced Outlook 2007 into a 2-min start-up cycle. Which was fixed with this "Goat-Rpdeo" of re-installing MSVCR80.dll.
4) And under the latest release of iOS-7.0.4 on our iPhones, why is Apple now forcing us to use the iCloud to back-up our contacts, calendars & tasks, vs. allowing these files to be backed-up directly on our PC's via the USB cable?

Last update to Itunes wiped out all downloaded files and playlists. Not Impressed. Been searching for resolutions...everywhere. No such luck.....tried everything other than looking in the pc's registry.....not sure how to pull that off , but itunes is bugging me with these updates.....HELP!!! Lots of lost money here and no help.

How can I get my "contacts" back on my iPod classic. iTunes wiped out all my contacts from my iPod classic and now I no longer even show a place for contacts on my computer when I plug in my iPod.
You don't download iTunes by connecting your phone to iTunes and yes of course, by syncing your phone with your husbands computer, of course you will have lost all your stuff and you will have his.
When you connect to iTunes, you sync.
To get back all your things, then you need to sync your phone to the computer that you used originally to set your phone up - if this is your computer, then connect your phone to that and sync it with iTunes on that and you will get your stuff back, but when you connect to iTunes you sync and don't download.
Ringtones should download automatically to your phone and if not, if you are getting them on your computer, then download them to your computer with your iTunes on and double click to get the MP3 file to open in iTunes and then sync your phone to your computer and you will get the ringtone on your phone. -

I'm trying to burn playlists onto a cd from itunes. I keep getting a "medium write error" message. What does this mean? I heard that this may mean that I should try burning at a slower speed. I tried this and that didn't help. I also heard that I may need to use a different brand of CD-R disc. I have not tried this yet. I also heard that it could be a software issue or disc drive issue. I recently updated my macbook pro software from tiger to snow leapord. Do you think this could have affected my itunes playlist burning capabilities? Thanks for the help.
A system upgrade should not have affected anything. When did you notice the loss in functionality?

Realize that a MBP that came with Tiger is an old computer and optical drives do not last forever.
You could try a drive cleaning disc to remove dust. Don't be overly optimistic. I suspect it is an old drive issue. -
please help, i am wondering if i can have both an itunes account from the usa and canada on the same ipod without wiping out my music and apps.???
You can retain the apps and music for the USA account. However, you can only use the iTunes store in the country you are physically located. Thus, you can't update the USA purchased app when in Canada. See the following too:

iPod deletes all music and videos, I synced it with iTunes, but after some time it deletes again.
To stop this, don't use the same Apple ID on both phones for iMessage and FaceTime. (You can continue to use the same ID for iTunes; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID used for iMessage or FaceTime.)
On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime. -
My iTunes gave me the option to erase and sync with the library or just sync with Itunes purchases. Since I have songs from more than one source and all my music was in the library, I chose the erase and sync option. All my music was wiped off my iPod and a few recent iTunes purchases were synced onto the iPod. All my music is still in the library, but it won't sync to my iPod. Making me crazy.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -
