Windows 7: Error-12 Installation

 Hello,
I am having difficulties installing Academic Site License Spring 2009 LabVIEW Core on a Windows 7 Enterprise 32-Bit Operating System.
We are using this deployment of LabVIEW for approximately 310 computer systems. I am testing out the installation on the system specifications mention above, which all 310 systems will have.
I am receiving the following error when I run the "setup.exe" from the NI LabVIEW Core Software Disc 1/2:
*** Error: Windows SDK function returned an error. (Error Code -12 )
*** End Error Report
I have tried running the installation option "Run as Administrator", however I receive the same error as mention above. I have looked around the NI Forums Boards regarding this issue, and I have not seen any threads related to my problem.
Any suggestions as to a possible fix? Or am I waiting until Fall 2009 LabVIEW is shipped?

From your previous post I understod that the error message was not fatal and that the installer continued. So at what point does it exit? Have you tried running it actually logged on as Administrator as well? I've run LV 2009 on Windows 7 (Pro) without incident (even though there is no official support), but I've never tried the academic core installer. Will try to find one up and set up a 7 image and see if I can recreate what you are seeing. Just a thought, what version of the .NET framework do you have installed?
Best Regards

  • Itunes on windows 7 error "itunes installer encountered errors before itunes could be configured" HELP!!!

I''ve tried running from an external harddrive running in safe mode everything gives the same error...

I had to find this solution from another site, so thanks to all the people who viewed this thread & knew how to fix this but didn't bother.
If anyone is weary enough to come to this forum to solve this problem, here is one solution that worked for me & it may work for you if you encounter the error:
"the installer encountered errors before safari could be configured"
    1. Use a trustworthy registry cleaner to clean your registry such as Ccleaner or Advanced System Care. This step may not be necessary though.
    2. Go to "C:\Users\MyUsername\AppData(Hidden)\Local\Temp" & delete everything in it.
    3. If step 2 still doesn't allow you to install Safari, then try:
    4. Open Start type "CMD" in the search button, then in the cmd prompt "Regedt32"
    5. In the reg editor open:
"Computer" / "HKEYCURRENTUSER" / "Software" / "Apple Computer, Inc." & try deleting the entries for any Apple programs that may be causing any conflicts.
Be aware that any programs that you delete registry entries for may not function correctly afterwards or need to be reinstalled, but this more drastic measure should hopefully allow the installation of Safari browser.
Hope this helps any further visitors to this forum looking to solve this problem it worked for me, good luck.

  • Windows 7 error during installation?

So, I've gotten the partition formatted, and I popped the Windows 7 disc in. I went through the steps, formatted partition, etc. and all seemed good until it reached the 'expanding files' stage. It lingered at 0% for a while until it stopped saying 'cannot find file specified' or something along those lines. Don't know if this is specific enough, but I want me some release candidate goodness! D: Oh, and the build number is 7127, if that helps.
    Any clue?

    Ryan,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues formatting your W7 partition.
You might want to consult the Windows 7 forum at microsoft.com/springboard, there may some information about compatibility with your system, please keep in mind, if your system was stable before, and you have the Vista Drivers they will work with Windows 7, so you may want to revert to them.
    Thanks,

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
    ·  Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
    for the elevation prompt
    ·  In the command prompt, type the command below:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
    appropriately.
    ·  Restart the system.
    ·  Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

  • Windows 8 error "product key does not match any of the Windows images available for installation"

    Hi Experts
My HP Pavilion laptop came with window 8. I made the USB recovery for windows 8 using hp recovery manager. My windows was corrupted, while I was trying to install windows 7 in dual boot.
I used above USB recovery to restore factory default. But every time it is giving me error "HP Recovery Manager Failed error code = 0xefffff08"
Then I downloaded the OEM ISO mage for windows 8 and tried to do the clean install but now installation process is giving me error "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key"
Please help me. To whom I have to contact?

    Hi ghost-rider,
Thank you for your query, I will do my best to assist you.
I understand you tried to do a recovery and you received this error  "oxefffff08".
First I would suggest you run a hardware diagnostics. Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
If no hardware failures are located, you have ruled that possibility out.
Here is a link to Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 8) that may help.
If you are still having an issue doing a recovery, I suggest contacting HP support and explain the issue you are having with doing a recovery. They may have another option available for you.
Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region  Technical Support Sitemap
The clean install from an OEM image is looking for the product code as it does not match the one that came with the computer, You would need a new code.
    I hope this has helped.

  • Cant download itunes 10 using windows vista error installation of assembly policy 8.0 microsoft VC80.CRT

cant download itunes 10 using windows vista erroe about installation of assembly

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

I discovered the cause of this problem. I had pointed my "My Documents" folder to a NAS drive that I had rather than my C drive. Apparently Photoshop was dependant on it being on the C dirve. When I  repointed this back to my C drive CS5 installed properly.
