Windows 7 file transfer to a Mac book.

I just got a Mac today. I have been transferring my files over to my Mac, from my PC. My PC had an automatic shutoff after 30mins that I didn't know about, so it shutdown. Now I cannot get it to reconnect to my Mac. I also don't know how to get my Mac off of the "transferring your information" screen. Any help would be much appreciated!

Well if you use the Finder Go menu to Computer, a window opens up double click on your boot drive and then on Users folder, open the other user folder and open Public and drop your files into DropBox
When you do this it will copy them and change the permissions and user assigned to it, so log into the other user and place them into your respective normal folders.
Once you have all your files over and don't need the old user, use System Preferences > Accounts to delete it if you wish, however it's good two Admin accounts on the machine in case something bad happens in the other. Some people for security reasons on use a Standard account for most uses and a emergency Admin account.
One can still do most Admin things in Standard user.

You could use a VM like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox to install XP SP3.

This is boot camp problem, because in other normal notebooks (e.g. SONY VAIO, Lenovo with Windows 7) the gadgets are working normally.

You are not addressing Apple, but a community of unpaid volunteers. So ASAP won't cut it. Also, you should refrain from posting personal information (like your email address) in the body of your comments, as this is part of the community usage guidelines.
Have you reinstalled the latest Boot Camp Windows 7 drivers, just in case Microsoft overwrote some of them during the Windows 7 security update?

2GB RAM is on the low end though for anything in the last 4 yrs - Mac OS Snow Leopard included.

Look for a program called BlueHarvest. I'm not sure if it still works with Mountain Lion.
I believe your file server can be set up to handle the metadata files, but I suppose that would depend on the Server software and your IT staff.

I have a broken MacBook pro, the hard drive failed and I want to move the files onto an external hard drive. I know I can transfer the files onto the external hard drive by running the software on the external hard drive and accessing the files on the Mac Book, but I dont know how to do it.

How can you do that if the drive has failed? You cannot access a failed drive unless it is actually still functioning.
To access from an external drive you need to install the operating system on the external drive then boot the computer from the external drive. You can then access the internal drive in order to copy files and folders from it to the external drive.

I have a mac book pro and i want to install windows XP on it, but i ran into a problem.
While using boot camp i followed the instructions and i got to the point where Windows XP is supposed to ask for partition drive, but in my case it gives me an error saying that Windows XP disc is not valid. I bought my Windows XP Sp 2 Disc at wal mart couple of years ago. It works fine on my HP PC but not on this one. What is the problem and why does it do that?

In iTunes select your iPad from the left-hand pane under 'Devices', then select the appropriate tab from the top. If it's a movie then select 'Films', if it's a TV series then select 'TV Programmes'. You can check which is the correct one to use by selecting the category from the top of the left-hand pane and seeing which one the item you want to synchronise is in. Then ensure that 'Sync Films/TV Programmes' is checked. Finally click the 'Sync' button in the bottom right of iTunes.

How to open a zip file of photos on Mac Book Pro when it cannot find or fix alias

I do a home photo editing business. One of a my clients sent me a disc that she zipped to compress because there were a lot of pictures on it. When I try to open it on my Mac Book Pro I keep getting an error message that it cannot find alias and what program do I want to use to open it. It also gives me an option to "fix alias" but it doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I open zip files on my Mac Book Pro? I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it. I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go. I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it. My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue. It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking. It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above. I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes. It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me. She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.

Window 7 Office & Quickbook on Mac Book Pro

I am thinking about getting a Mac Book Pro Retina with Parallels to run Windows 7. I currently have both a Mac and a PC and am looking to combine the functionality of both in the MacBook Pro. Right now I mosty use Windows 7 Office (including Outlook) and Quickbooks on the PC and iPhoto on the MAC. Is the Mac Book Pro with Parallels a good option? Have people been happy running the Windows products on the Mac?
Last time I tried to use the Mac version of excel (admittedly it was awhile ago) it was dismal. I know there is a Mac version of QB for the Mac, but I really need the Windows application. Thanks

You can install Windows 7 using a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. For what you will be doing there will not be any performance issues.
You can also install Windows 7 natively using Bootcamp Assistant.
