Does anyone know if hidden or beta submissions are accepted to this contest (wpdevcenteroffers.com/home/contest)?
would post the link but "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."
seems like there could be a white-list for Microsoft domains?

Windows Game Development Contest - Is that an official event or should I be suspicious about it?

     Hi Everybody!!!
     Someone posted a link in a forum about a contest, similar to the DreamBuildPlay event that used to happen every year around these days. The name of the event is the "Windows Game Developer Contest". It's about
porting an existing App from other platform to the Windows Store. The thing is that I have not been able to find if this is a real thing or just a hoax. I thought about asking, just in case - one can never be too careful with the Internet.

As a future game developer, how can I submit a standalone Mac game to the store?

I'm just saving up for special software, and when I buy it, I'm going to get together with some friends to pump out a standalone game for Macs. And before we start development, I'm just wondering if and how I can get it onto the Mac App Store when it's finished. I assume there's a publication process?

Those are the v2 UI Components, which means they're written

ActionScript 2.0 and are therefore incompatible with AS3.

As eww said, that computer isn't specifically made for gaming. To get advanced graphics in a game, your computer needs what is called a "discrete" graphics processor, or GPU. This means a seperate chip that processes graphics. In Apple laptops, these are only found in the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro. It is not common to find these in laptops in general that are not expensive and high-end. What you have in yours is an "on-board" or "integrated" GPU. This means that graphics processing is done by a small portion of your main processor (the Intel i5 board). This takes away a portion of primary prossessing and dedicates it to graphics. This works perfectly find in most scenarios, but video rendering, gaming, and 3-D graphics tend to suffer. Most high-end, modern games require discrete GPUs to run at full quality these days.
As far as running Windows 7 and Mac OS both, yes you absolutely can. If you install Windows 7 via Bootcamp (this would require you to have a Windows 7 CD), when you turn on your computer it will default to opening up in Mac OS. But if you hold down the Option key (bottom of the keyboard next to the Command button) while the computer is booting up, it will ask you if you want to open Windows or Mac OS.

ibook-widgets.com have a free tutorial book in the iBooks store. Search for "Create your first interactive book using iBooks Author" they also sell widgets.
I dont have any connection - I found their eBook in the store long ago and used it to learn more about iBA.
The best advice though, is be patient, go back over the process step by step, I cannot access the Help files for some reason.. but i am sure its in their.

which is the best way to develop a XML/BI publisher report?
1) Using a RDF for fetching data using data group
2) Using a Data Template
3) Writing PLSQL code
4) Using BI Publisher Enterprise
In R12 , all seeded reports are XML using PLSQL coding. Why oracle did not create RDF based XML reports? Are RDF s going to be obsolete??
Please clear my confusion

Why do Mac games have higher system preferences compared to Windows games?

I am wondering why Mac games have higher system preferences compared to Windows games?
For example "The Movies" game on Mac requires:
Mac: OSX 10.4 Tiger or later,
PPC G4 1.67 GHz,
512MB RAM,
64MB video card,
DVD drive (minimum)
Whilst on Windows:
PC: Windows 98SE or later
800 MHz CPU
256MB RAM
DirectX 9.0c compatible sound and video card.
Now anyone can see the amount Windows needs compaired to Mac but why such a huge leap.
And this isn't only on "The Movies" it's the same with "Sims 2" and "Age of Empires"

Can I partition an external hard drive to run windows games on my Macbook Pro

I want to play windows games on steam but I am not sure if I want to partition my Macbooks hard drive. I heard you could partition external hard drives but didn't know if you could run games on that external hard drive. I have a lot of files on my computer and don't want to take time to move my files to the external hard drive, so can I buy the external hard drive and then partition it to run window games or do I have to partition my actual default hard drive?

Hi! If your macbook doesn't have a cd drive you need to have Windows 7 but an ISO image, you can't just copy the contents of the copy into a USB and expect it to work. There are many tutorials on internet on how to obtain an ISO image from an installation disc, for example: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/software-tools/a/create-iso-image-file.htm As for "just download Windows 7" (i suppose you mean free download) this is not the right place to ask, believe me. AS3+PHP Game Development Speed

I'm an As2 game developer but my new prj need to done with as3.So one thing that I want to make sure is
" Will the game speed slow if I place the contents and imgaes into the stage as in AS2 ?"
As I planned to use OOP class.And confused that all those mcs should be place directly into timeline or should attach from as files?

It depends.
If there are moments in your game were 50+ objects are getting animated, faded etc. on stage and your game runs fullscreen and uses bitmaps it certainly will slow down if you put all things on the timeline.
Then you could use something like the copyPixels method (google it) to speed things up or even go further and use a framework like flixel

We do it through Visual Studio 2013 Update 4:
- Menu TOOLS
- Windows Phone 8.1
- Developer Power Tools
- Select the device and click to Connect.
It is requested to install the tools on the device, but when we click on "install", there is an error (German text):
0x80070057 - Es kann nicht nach Paketen vom Updateserver gesucht werden
(It is not possible to search packets in the update server.)
We have tried it on different computers, but it doesn't work.
Is there anything we could do?
