Windows Intune Updates?

Dear all,
I have some question with Windows Intune Updates...
Is anyone know where can I find the latest update of Windows Intune?
Like iOS/Android device management, rule compliance...etc.
I need to understand what we can do or what compliance is worked for iOS/Android.
thank you.
Mickey

Intune is not anything you download. It's a service hosted and provided by Microsoft directly. The service is always at the latest stable/production version.
A complete reference of all current policy settings for Windows Intune (stand-alone) is at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj662714.aspx

  • Strange NIC traffic reporting with Windows Intune updates

    Hi
I've been building out a test environment for some Intune deployments we have in the works, and have encountered some weirdness in the Intune traffic reporting on both the NIC of the guest client VM with Windows 7, the virtual NIC it connects to on the Server
2008 R2 + TMG VM on a Hyper-V virtual network, as well as the Internet NIC on the TMG VM. TMG has had the Intune script from Paul Bourgeau's blog post applied to it as well.
While traffic from Windows Update, Internet Explorer etc are all reflected accurately, I've repeatedly watched Intune VMs pull down 50-60 updates without having an impact on the bytes sent/received on all three of the NICs above, the only place I'm really
seeing the traffic being reported is via my ISP.
I initially tried running this against a single NIC TMG VM, but noticed that a bunch of the connections were bypassing the proxy, but now that I have completely isolated the client from my network, forcing it through a double NIC TMG VM, I am confident that
it isn't finding a way to bypass that VM completely.
Any suggestions for what I should be looking for to help troubleshoot the traffic that I should be seeing reported, but am not? Everything is pointing to this traffic still bypassing the cache completely, which I know could be a TMG config issue, but the
NIC reporting is just weird, especially as it only seems to be the Intune traffic that is MIA.
    thanks
    Mark

As nobody has answered, if the problem still exists I would recommend that you call Intune support.
You will find your local Intune support number here

  • Windows Intune Fails to update.

I've ran into an issue that I never encountered before recently. We are a small business with Intune deployed on all machines to keep things in order and uniform. However, a few days ago we had to format one of the machines and reinstall Windows
8 on it. Since then, Intune has been struggling to update. The machine showed a bunch of updates but always fails from the first one, with the update client shutting down immediately. Most updates were installed through Windows Update manually but the
one update that always fails is the Windows Intune Client Service update. I've traced the logs and the "ClientNotificationUI" log is the only one receiving an error code, with that being 0x80010108 " Failed to change the client state".
I've tried most things with nothing actually working. What I thought would do the trick was to remove intune completely and then reinstall using the latest client from the admin console. Still, that didn't do it as apparently that is not the latest version
of the client. The machine is stuck in an endless update loop, with nothing actually installing.  If you have any ideas I'd greatly appreciate your help!

We found no solution to this issue unfortunately. The only workaround was to manually "push" the updates that Intune was downloading. For some inexplicable reason, the client could not update itself or things related to it, on its own. It was just downloading
the updates and then nothing. After lots of efforts, windows is up to date now. However, a different issue entirely has appeared. There are no details for the machine on the Administration page of Intune and the managed software does not reach the client.
I used to get the Agent not installed error before but now nothing. From the client's side of things, everything appears to be ok. For the main purposes of Intune, not so. Any ideas why this is happening?

  • Availability of Update to Windows Intune for Samsung KNOX Standard

I don't understand how Windows Intune supports Samaung KNOX ? KNOX is also a MDM solution, and its security features that enable business and personal content to coexist on the same handset. How to enroll the Samsung KNOX device? Via KNOX
APP or Company Portal from Google Play? BTW, do these two MDM Solution, Windows Intune and Samsung KNOX, exist at same time on the same handset? Could someone give some ideas?

Intune simply takes over and manages the KNOX layer, it does not add anything to KNOX enabled devices. The COmpany Portal App is just that, a app that enables registration and enrollment of the device and facilitiates the management of the KNOX layer.
This is similar to what happens on other devices including iOS and WP8 where the MDM/management layer is already built into the device.

  • Windows Intune support deployment for windows phone (8.1) *.appx files

    Hi
We are trying to deploy a windows phone 8.1 appx file with intune (over sccm console). the appx file is signed with a valid symantec certificate.
the installation of the app fails, either when we upload the file as "Required" (so pushing it automatically to the devices) or when we make the app on the company portal app available.
in the sccm console the deployment status says failed -> unkonwn error.
when we use .xap file of an windows 8.0 app, it works like a charm and the xap file is signed with the same certificate.
My question is, is there no support for publishing windows phone 8.1 appx files on Intune? Or what can it be?
    Thanks for any hints

    UPDATE
According to these links and the comments from Mitch Denny, can somebody confirm that .appx files (company apps) cannot be deployed/installed on windows phone 8.1 yet?

I would really appreciate if someone can confirm me this, because im struggling with this since days and there is no official statement from MS.
    Thanks

  • Windows Phone 8 and Windows InTune

I just signed up for a 30-day Windows InTune trial account and I'm in the process of setting up mobile device management for Windows Phone 8 devices.  After looking through the documentation, I just want to verify that
before I can even enroll any Windows Phone 8 devices for management in Windows InTune I need to...
    1. Purchase a $99/yr subscription to establish a Company (not an Individual) account on the Windows Phone Dev Center (to get a Symantec Publishing ID)
    2. Purchase a $299/yr subscription for a Symantec Enterprise Mobile Code Signing Certificate to obtain an enterprise mobile code-signing certificate using the Symantec Publishing ID from step #1
    3. Download, sign the Company Portal App with the XapSignTool tool using the Symantec enterprise mobile code-signing certificate, and upload the app back into Windows InTune
    Is this correct?
    Regards,
    JJ

An important update to this thread - as of November 2014, you can now enroll Windows Phone 8.1 devices for management in Windows Intune without having to purchase a Symantec certificate. For details, see
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/microsoftintune/archive/2014/11/18/improvements-to-the-windows-phone-8-1-enrollment-process-for-intune.aspx
As of 4/2/2015, hybrid configurations still require a Symantec cert to enroll a phone, but you can get the Company Portal app for WinPhone in the Store and you can send deep links and web links to hybrid phones via that portal. The ability to enroll WinPhone
8.1 in hybrid without a cert is in the works. Stay tuned to the Intune blog for the announcement when that comes. Or you can ping me by replying to this thread, and ask me if certless hybrid is available yet.

  • Extensions for Windows Intune are not populating

I have installed the Windows Intune Subscription and Added the Windows Intune Site Connector role.  I am trying to manage Windows 8.1 phone, but no extensions have shown up in Config Mgr.  Docs say that they will automatically populate.  Is
there something that I am missing? Perhaps on the Intune Portal?
    Thx.

Jason is right. The update has been carried out to create this Intune extension
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/windowsintune/archive/2014/04/28/availability-of-update-to-windows-intune-for-windows-phone-8-1-and-samsung-knox-standard.aspx
Have you seen any extensions previously - this is the third? You will only see them when you open the ConfigMgr console (not if it's already open). If not there is something wrong and you should review the logs Jason has referred to.

  • Wifi profiles SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune

    Hi All,
A quick question regarding SCCM 2012 R2 and the new Wifi Profiles feature...
Can anyone confirm if you need windows Intune combined with SCCM 2012 R2 to be able to deploy WIFI profiles to users devices i.e Windows 8.1, IOS and Android platforms?  Microsoft documentation is not clear on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Regards PowerShell90

It not as straight forward as one would hope. I am running the latest version of SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 connected to my Windows Intune subscription. There are a lot of hickups. One is that the direct of management needs to be all or nothing. In other words you
either need to use Windows Intune solely to manage your devices or SCCM 2012 R2 (via connector). If the later then you must do everything from in SCCM 2012 R2. You cannot hybrid manage your devices as this will screw things up.
Android for some reason is left out on a lot of features. I would think that MS Devs would work hard on the market share that being Android, not iOS. Any way, accord to some official MS articles Android is supported, but others claim that not all features
are, these being the important ones like Email and Wi-Fi Profiles. They simply do not work.
I think MS is heading in the right direction but there is a lot of work that needs to be done before this is a competitive product. I could care less if connects to my SCCM 2012 R2 server or not. Here are few things that I sent o a MS Support Rep today that
    need to be address.
    1. Better response time when updating devices after enrollment (e.g. Name change).
    2. The ability to locked down uninstalling Windows Intune from device.<o:p></o:p>
    3. The ability to locked down certain features in the Windows Intune app on device (e.g. User can reset device with Windows Intune app, rename, etc...).<o:p></o:p>
    4. Ability to rename device in either Windows Intune Admin Portal and/or SCCM 2-12 R2.<o:p></o:p>

  • Manually Install Intune Update?

I've deployed our Intune Agent to one of our computers and despite how many times I try, I get an error on the agent.
Some of the agents that are installed on this computer have not contacted the service within the expected time period. Information from the following agents might not be accurate.
    Windows Intune Endpoint Protection
This agent was not completely or properly installed.

    Update ID: f9f83347-cbbb-42f8-9bb5-b1647363981d
    Error code: 0x80070780.
Now every time I reinstall the agent, I always get this error as soon as an update fails to install. I wanted to manually install this update and hope this would fix the error but cannot seem to find a way to do so.
The update is "Windows Intune Endpoint Protection (KB982365)". I found the link to the description of the agent update but no way to manually install it. Heres that article

Can anyone help me find a way to manually run this update on the computer?

  • Windows intune message are you the primary users of this computer?

When logged in with a adminstrative account, we successfully installed the Windows Intune client with the login crecentials that are specific for one user.
When this user is logged in to his Windows desktop and he wants to start the Company Portal, he receives a message after using his Intune account credentials:
"Are you the primary users of this computer? To take full advantage of the Windows Intune Portal, and to able to install apps on this computer, it has to be linked to you. If you aren't linked as the primary user of this computer, you will not be able
to install apps from this portal.
You have the option Yes or No.
When selecting Yes, you will receive an error: Oops... an error occured! Link was not successful. An error occured when we tried to link you to this device. You will not be able to install apps onto this device from Windows Intune Portal before you are linked
to the device. For assistance Contact IT.
More information will show you an Activity ID code.
When you continue you can install apps from the Portal, but each time you connect to the Portal you will receive this message.
    Is this a bug?

Depending on how you plan on using Intune this may not apply but for us, it provided a "decent" work around for windows 8.1 devices.
During our initial testing of Intune, we got around this "error" message on Windows 8.1 devices by installing the Company Portal app.  It required a separate Windows Store account to successfully install the app as none of my corporate test accounts
were linked to Microsoft accounts, which you had the option to do.
Once the App was installed I was finally able to log into our Company Store with the test Intune account that was linked to the Windows 8.1 tablet.  Our published LOB apps were listed along with the linked device too.
You could definitely deploy or sideload the Company Portal app, but for my testing purposes installing from the Store was sufficient.  Unfortunately, logging in from the website or the Applications link located in the Windows Intune Center
still will not work.  A solution would be greatly appreciated as we were hoping to deploy to Windows 7 devices also.
