Windows live mail keeps uploading deleted emails. using the HP Pavilion Slimline s5623w

Emails that have been deleted months ago are continuously reloading to my inbox. I have the Norton anti virus running on my desktop and it is indicating that everything is fine. Not quite sure what to do. I haven't installed any new software to my computer.

To clarify you are using the Windows mail application and not necessarily using Live mail from Microsoft?
What email accounts are you using within Live Mail? Since the application supports many different email providers knowing your exact provider and how you have it configured is going to help with providing proper steps.
So questions for you
1. Clarify that you are using Windows Live Mail as in the application?
1a. If yes, what email provider are you using within the application?
1b. If no, what application are you using to get your Live Mail?
2. Are you configured for POP or IMAP access?
3. Are you running the latest version of the application that you are using?
4. Do you have the latest Microsoft Windows Updates?
5. Don't delete, instead manually move an item from the inbox to the trash by dragging and dropping, does it reappear in the inbox?
6. If you view your email online through the website is the email showing in the inbox?
Please post back clarifications to the questions.

Cannot send mail through Windows Live Mail with 3rd party email address

I know this problem has been thoroughly discussed, and I basically understand it. I must change my outgoing port to 587 on my two non-Verizon email accounts that I pull into Microsoft Mail along with my Verizon mail. One of the accounts is my web site email with Network Solutions, and one is an email address through Onebox.com.
When I used port 587, neither worked to send email through Outlook Express or Windows Mail. I called Onebox. and was told to use (for them) port 465, which did not work to send, either.
I have not called Network Solutions yet. I did call Verizon Support, however, and the support person tried to find the solution. Finally, he told me I need to call Onebox again (and Network Solutions).
I am just checking to see if there is something I missed that anyone knows of. I would really like to consolidate my mail on my computer...it will be complicated if I cannot.

When I try to send a link to someone from Firefox it's defaulting to Outlook Express instead of Windows Live Mail which is what I use. How do I change that?

Do you copyemail from a PC running windows live mail? I have attempted to use Thunderbird and was successful in converting the live mail files to Mbox format but when I tried to import these files to the Mac only one message from each file was shown.

Synching Blackberry and Windows Live Mail

Hi.. I am new to the world of Blackberry and not very technically minded !
I would be very grateful for some help with the following please:
I use Windows Live Mail for all my email addresses. When I delete an email from Blackberry this does not delete in Live Mail. How can I set things up so that when I delete an email from Blackberry it deletes the email from Live Mail too?
I would like to keep calendar on my Blackberry that synchs with a calendar on my laptop.. so information is viewed the same on both Blackberry and laptop and updates both ways regardless of where the information is inputted.  Is this possible to do and how?

Reconciliation between your BB and your email server will be governed by this KB:

From what you are requesting, it indeed should be possible. Therefore, please also check this KB:
KB13509How to reconcile email messages between the messaging server and the BlackBerry smartphone
and ensure that you have configured everything correctly. Also be sure that you are waiting an appropriate time length...it has been witnessed for deletion reconciliation to take up to 8 hours at times (it varies quite a bit based on a number of factors).

For this, it is indeed possible, but again depending on circumstances. You can reconcile your BB to the following desktop calendar applications:

Assuming you already have one of the compatible applications and it already has all of your data, then I suggest the following steps. It is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Download, to your PC, the RIM Desktop Software:

ITunes for Windows 7 64 bit, Windows Live Mail Contacts not (all?) syncing

I have researched this as much as I can but cannot find a solution.
I had my iPhone 4 synced to my Window Vista Home Premium PC using iTunes just fine until January when the PC motherboard crashed. No data was lost and all contacts have been restored to my new PC with is Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). My contacts are in Windows Live Mail (Windows Contacts) and I'm syncing via iTunes with "Sync Contacts with: Windows Contacts" selected.
However, not all contacts are syncing with my iPhone. In fact, I'm not sure they are syncing at all, although the sync function goes through. It may be that the only ones that sync are those that existed before the new PC (i.e., the Windows Vista contacts which were in Windows Mail). I have created new contacts on both the PC using the new version Windows Live Mail and on the iPhone since the crash, and would like to get them synced up.
Symptoms:
1) Some specific contacts on PC are not on the iPhone after multiple sync attempts.
I have so far positively identified one contact that did not sync. It shows in Windows Live Mail under Contacts, however it does NOT show up in my Windows username/Contacts folder!
2) One Contacts group on PC is not on the iPhone, although two others are (they probably were from before the crash).

3) The same group as #2 also does NOT show up in the iTunes group list under "Selected Groups" on iTunes, but the other two groups do. (I do not use "selected groups" because that disables "all contacts" syncing, but the groups are visible grayed out on the list.)
4) As a test, I created a new contact on my iPhone, synced, and it shows up now in Windows Live Mail Contacts; it also shows up in my Windows username/Contacts folder.
5) As a test, I created a new contact in Windows Live Mail and it does NOT show up in my username/Contacts folder. I synced the iPhone again and it does NOT show up on my iPhone contacts.
OK folks, where are these missing contacts going and how can I get them synced?? Thanks!
PS: I have the latest iTunes 10.5.3.3, no updates are available. However, Apple Support/iTunes seems to suggest Windows 7 64 bit either "does not use Windows Contacts" (which seemed quite wrong until I ran the tests above), and also that Windows 7 64 requires iTunes 10.4.1, which I cannot install because I have a later version installed. I would have assumed the correct version installed for my OS when I installed iTunes on the new PC. iTunes runs fine by itself and in coordination with my iPhone other than the above issue.

I didn't get any help on this from the forum, but from studying around and experimenting with different approaches, I have come up with the following conclusions:
Under Windows Vista, Windows Mail synced its contacts with Windows Contacts [which are in c:\users\username\contacts]. iPhone via iTunes synced with Windows Contacts. Changes to either Windows Mail Contacts or iPhone contacts would always update each other. Life was good.
Under Windows 7, Windows LIVE Mail (WLM) does NOT sync its contacts with Windows Contacts. It puts them into a hidden database. If you have prior Windows Contacts and brought them along for the ride, they are still there in the folder but they are not connected to the WLM contacts database
When you first set up Windows Live Mail, you can import your Windows Contacts and they appear to be synced. (In fact, they are, but only at that single point in time.)
If you change any Windows Live Mail contact or add a new one, it does NOT change in Windows Contacts. It only changes in the WLM contacts database. It therefore does NOT sync to your iPhone.
Similarly, if you change a contact on iPhone or add a new one, it will sync with Windows Contacts. However, this does NOT update your Windows Live Contacts.
So, from what I can tell, here is what this means: to maintain a steady state, you have two choices:
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts [the Windows Contacts folder has a "New Contact" button], and they will stay in sync with each other. Then manually update or add it in Windows Live Contacts to keep those up to date so you can use them for e-mail. OR
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts, and they will stay in sync with each other. DO NOT manually update Windows Live Contacts, but realize they are not always up to date. If an address needed for an e-mail is not in there, manually retrieve it from your Windows Contacts or your iPhone and insert it into the e-mail. [Having done that, you can right click on the address in the e-mail and add it to your WLM contacts if you want.] Periodically, manually delete all of your Windows Live Mail Contacts and then re-import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail and, voila, your contacts are in sync again! (Isn't that great, I mean really awful??)
NOTE: If you follow course #2, DO NOT import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail contacts without deleting your existing Windows Live Mail contacts, or you will end up with a double set plus the new ones.
FURTHER NOTE: I obviously can't make any guarantee you won't lose data if you follow course #2. Be sure you have a complete backup before deleting your WLM contacts. However, I will say that after experiencing a double set of WLM contacts (by failing to understand the first NOTE above), it was impossible to pick out the new items [WLM will now show you the date of entry or modification of the contact, so you can't sort by date], so I deleted all of them and re-imported my Windows Contacts and had a complete set again.
AND ONE FINAL NOTE: I have not tested how any of this affects Windows Live Contacts used online outside of Windows Live Mail, because I do not use Windows Live online.
Please post further comments if you have any more information on this topic.

BTInternet - Folders not in Windows Live Mail

I have managed at last to get my Yahoo / BTinternet mail account working with Windows Live Mail sending and receiving mail however the 30 or so folders i have in BTyahoo mail do not appear in Windows Live Mail so I cannot access the emails. I can only see the main folders such as Inbox, drafts,Sent,Junk and deleted.
How can i get WLM to recognise/show the folders

The simple answer is that you can`t. A POP3 mail client can only read the Inbox, the rest are simply local folders which do not appear on webmail.
If you want to read all folders you have to configure Windows Live to use IMAP and not POP3.

Problems with Windows Live Mail Beta

Hello all.
I can't seem to view any email messages in Safari using the new light version of Windows Live Mail Beta. I can view the inbox page fine but when I click on a subject to view a message, I see an error page saying 'Safari Cannot Load The Page' and something about a bad server response. Emptying the cache doesn't make a difference and I can view my mail fine in Firefox on the full version of the beta.
Any suggestions? Many thanks...

Have you tried it with Firefox? Windows live search (maps) will not work with either Safari or Firefox in my experience. Give it time and maybe it will but Microsoft if not very flexible in making there sites friendly with other browsers.

Problems with windows live mail

Hi there,
Today I received my blackberry 8520, but i've got one problem with my windows live mail account. I only receive the e-mails on my live account after i checked them on my computer.
I did receive an announcement that when i use an e-mailclient, in my situation microsoft outlook, i have to change the settings of this client. If the client doesn't save my e-mails on the server, blackberry is unable to deliver them to my device.
I unsterstand the problem but i can't solve it. Is there anybody who knows how to solve my problem?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Outlook has settings that dictate what it does when you have it grab your email from the server. The location is variable depending on Outlook version...I can only give you the steps for my version (2K7). From within Outlook:
Tools > Account Settings > select the account > Change > More Settings > Advanced
On that screen, you must change the "Delivery" options so that the messages are left on the server for BIS to be able to retrieve them. BIS grabs email every 15 minutes. If you have Outlook running and have it grabbing email every 5 minutes AND have it (via this screen) removing the email from the server when it does so, then there will be nothing for BIS to grab when it makes its next scheduled attempt. You need to change these settings to something that allows BIS to have something to grab from the server when it tries.
What to set these to is a function of your needs and your email providers policies. Typically, if you set Outlook to Leave messages on the server yet remove them after 1 day, you can stay within all needs and policies.

Windows Live Mail

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and installed Live Mail as Outlook Express is not included. I still use PSE 5 (OK I know I should upgrade) and now get the message
'Photoshp Elements could not finish creating your email message'.
How do I change my Sharing preferences from 'Windows Mail' to make it possible to share photos with my own email again?

Yes, but the new free optional extra required for Windows 7 is windows Live
Mail, which is not packaged with the OS. Outlook Express is not supported
by Windows 7.
It appears that PE does not support Windows Live Mail so I am being forced
to use the Adobe email. That is not the end of the world but it is
annoying.

How to transfer folders from Windows Live Mail to Mac

I'm trying to export my mail folders from Windows Live Mail to my new Mac but I can't seem to be able to do it. When I export folders as windows live mail and then import them into the mail on mac, I only get the first email in the folder and not the rest. I'm having a nightmare - can anyone help?

Windows Live Mail - How to Set it Up

I've been trying to set up Windows Live Mail to display emails received by my BT Mail account.
None of the detailed instructions on the Internet correspond to the Wndows Live Mail screens that appear during the setting up process.
In addition to the above problem, Windows Live Mail asks for ingoing and outgoing details. I've been using imap.btinternet.com for ingoing, port 993 and smtp.btinternet.com for outgoing, port 465, all gleaned from BT on the internet (although I've lost track of where that all came from during my hours of searching).
At the end of the hit-and-miss set up attempt, the user screen in Windows Live Mail (which looks a lot like the old Outlook Express screen) displays my email address in the left column, along with some folder names that were there before I started setting up, but it won't display the folder names corresponding to my BT email address and it won't display any emails. Basically, my actions have only worked to the extent that my email address is displayed, but that's all.
Can anyone please give a detailed, step-by-step description of exactly what needs to be done from absolute scratch, such that a three year old with no computer knowledge could complete it successfully.

I've digested the first recommended link and carefully followed the second recommended link, following the further sub-link therein for 'Windows Live Mail'.
As per my original post, there are differences between the recommended link screens and the screens that appear in the version of Windows Live Mail I've downloaded from Microsoft and installed.
Thus:
(1) - 'login user name' in the recommended link appears as 'login ID if different from email address' in the Windows Live Mail software. The recommended link completes that entry as 'example.user', which is meaningless. Is that my BT email address, without the '.com' extension? Then again, applying straightforward logic to the instruction, since my BT login ID is my email address, then the entry should be blank, should it not? Therefore, I've left the entry blank. If that is incorrect, what should I enter, please?
(2) - Continuing completion of the entries from top to bottom, I eventually come to the 'outgoing server information' entry, most particularly the port number. I've entered '465' as the outgoing server information port number. Continuing further, when I subsequently tick the box against 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)', the port number entered earlier is altered (without any other action by me) to 25. I can go back and change it back to 465, which is what I've done. Is that correct, or should I allowthe software to impose 25?
(3) - I then discover that the 'NEXT' button is greyed out. I therefore can't select 'Next', so, having completed the entries in the window, I'm currently stuck there.

I cannot print from Thunderbird but i can with Windows live mail

About a year ago I discontinued using Thunderbird because suddenly I could not print anything inThunderbird anymore. Now I use Windows Live Mail and printing emails is not a problem. Recently I installed Thunderbird again but still I cannot print emails using Thunderbird.

Being a layman, I am reluctant to follow your advice without assistance of a specialist.
To prevent a misunderstanding I will try to summarize what happened.
1) After using Thunderbird for a long time and having no problem at all to print emails, suddenly I could not print emails anymore.
2) I do not have the same problem with Firefox nor with any other program.
3) I have only one printer.
4) After the problem occurred System recovery was used- for another reason - to start with a clean slate. Thunderbird was reinstalled: but still I could not print emails. When I use windows live mail I can print emails.
Does this change your advice?
