Windows so busy on lan it and others can hardly use adsl

Hi all, I wonder if anyone could help please? I've got an ADSL router and various macs connected by ethernet and wifi to it. All seems well until a particular PC (real PC not via BC) is connected. Then everything goes slow and streaming becomes impossible. I would be grateful for any suggestions about how I could find out what's happening on the PC and stop it. I'm not very experienced with PC's I'm afraid and i haven't found a suitable forum i.e. similar to this one but for Windows. TIA if anyone could point me towards one. - Terry.

Thanks Templeton, I tried that before posting on here - however therein lies the problem: there are indeed dozens but I'm looking for one where (a) my post appears eventually and (b) someone replies eventually :-) . Hence I was really asking for a recommendation of one or two if anybody's used them, to narrow the field down. - Terry. (btw the PC doesn't belong to me :-) )

  • Windows 8 explorer.exe keeps crashing and I can't use Windows update as a result!

I've got Windows 8 64-bit, and it's been running fine for about 2 months now. Just today, it's started to crash the desktop every 6 seconds. The screen goes purple (which I'm pretty sure is just my chosen background colour), the outline of the taskbar remains,
but all the icons disappear, and then everything returns, only to crash again in another 6 seconds. I've watched the task manager, and under "background processes", an icon called "Windows Problem Reporting" appears for about a second,
    and then goes away.
I've looked up some other people's questions about this, and most people seem to recommend checking for updates, or installing new graphics drivers, but this is not an option for me. Whenever the desktop crashes, it shuts down control panel as well. This
means I can't start my computer in safe mode, I can't check for updates, I can't uninstall/update drivers, I basically can't make any changes to my computer! Even as I'm writing this message, the cursor keeps disappearing from the test box whenever the desktop
crashes, and I have to click on the screen every 6 seconds. ARGH!

I crash is caused by the Intel driver:

can ethernet ports be used for windows pc as a LAN so that i can share all documents through it?

The current 27-inch iMac can. Other iMac models can't outside of a VNC setup or ScreenRecycler; all such solutions require a standalone monitor for setup and troubleshooting.

On my Mac desktop I must have changed a setting so that now when I move the mouse the open windows fly off to the sides and I can't see them. They come back when I move the mouse, but it is so annoying. How can I make the windows not disappear like that?

Click on the Hot Corners..  button and look at the four definitions.  In the picture below, if you moved the cursor to the right top of the screen, it would slide all the applications off the screen as you describe and show the desktop.  Set it to "-" to deactivate.

my photoshop elements and Lightroom serial numbers won't work for my new mac. I bought these softwares via download on my windows laptop but returned that laptop because the quality was not great. I decided to buy a mac and now can't use my serial numbers to download the software.

Moving this discussion to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
Stephylei you will want to download the Mac versions of the installation files.  If you purchased the software from Adobe, and choose the download option at the time of purchase, then the download will be available under your account.  You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.

  • How do you burn photos to a disc so that the titles are shown and they can be used in windows?

How do you burn photos to a disc so that the titles are shown and they can be used in windows?
    do

    Are they in iPhoto?
Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and use the File -> Export command. In the resulting window, at File Name, select 'Use Title'. Also check the boxes at Title and Keywords, and they will be written to the IPTC metdata of the files. Complete the export to a folder on the desktop and iPhoto will export the photos using the Title as a Filename. Burn that folder with the Finder.

My Ipad did work on my wireless at home and works on other wireless but no longer at home. My IPhone works at home and others can use the wireless> Confused that it did work and now does not?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • HT1689 When I turn on my ipad there is a window that said I have not backed up to the cloud in two weeks. It says that it has to be locked and conneted to wifi. I did those things an it will not update and I can't use it. Whats's wrong?

When I turn on my ipad I get a message that says that I have not backed to the cloud in ywo weeks. I connected it to the computer and it has access to wifi, byt it won't do anything and I can't use it.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.  You can then do a backup

  • How to analyze the navigation flow in Oracle Portal, Number of unique users, downloads and other estastisticas of use of the Portal and Documents

    Dear
Experts, I have a very exciting demand, the board of a customer.
I need to create an analytical application on Oracle Portal, UCM, Spaces, WebCenter, to inform me which quantitatively pages, url and documents are accessed.
How to analyze the navigation flow in Oracle Portal, Number of unique users, downloads and other estastisticas of use of the Portal and Documents?
I thought I'd create a ods with the data of Content Tracker and Google Analytics, and model the analysis through the BIEE.
I ask, what is the standard solution that is used in these cases?
    Thank you

No. Return it and get your money back if still within the 30 day return window. All US iPhones are carrier locked and cannot be officially unlocked.

    Thanks, Rich

In order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf  type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.
