Wipes out classes and jars in Java Build Path

Hello!
All the jar and class files under Library tab gets cleared when I repair my DC project. But when I repair normal projects it does not wipe out the jars or classes in the Library. Can someone please help me?

Hi Raj,
The Java build path of a DC-project is based on the definitions in de DC-dependecies (shown in .dcdef file).
Everytime you repair or build the DC the build path will be updated into the .project file based on the .dcdef file.
See the online documentaion for how to add libraries to the DC dependecies.

Path, classpath, java build path???

I am happy with what path and classpath does but what is java build path for? could someone point me in the direction of where I can find more info?

cool but the IDE also had a place where you could set the classpath. so is the java build path just like an extra way of setting up classes for different projects where the classpath in the IDE is used by all projects?

Java Build Path Errors in WD with NWDI

Hi,
i'm connected to a NWDI and imported a development configuration with a SC from there.
When I create a new DC (type: Web Dynpro) within this SC, I receive a lot of errors that classes could not be resolved.
In the projects properties, I can see that the Java Build Path has "JRE_LIB" added only. In local WD-projects (without any NWDI) there are a lot more Libraries added.
I guess, this is the problem.
Now the question is: How can I convince my project to use more libraries in its Build Path?
in the used SC I've added initially the following dependencies according to a tutorial:
DI BUILD TOOL 7.00
SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00
SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
then, after receiving theses errors, I've added additionally (I guessed them):
WEB DYNPRO APPLICATIONS 7.00
WEB DYNPRO RUNTIME 7.00
still the same...
additional information: after cretaing the DC, I also receive the following warning/error:
<i>Development Component Creation completed with some problems.
Reason:
Some used DCs are not available locally.
You have to sync used DCs for this project.</i>

after copy&paste the missing entries from a .classpath-file of a local project to my NWDI-based projects .classpath file, the build errors are gone.
but how to do that automatically?
and still errors occur in the develop-config perspective:

Cant specify the Java Build Path in the Web Module Project

hi,
I have a problem while specify the project dependencies in the Web Module Project.While opening the properties of the web module project i cant choose the Java Build Path.The only two options i have are design root path and web service consistency check builder.Does anybody know why its like that?do i hav to reinstall the SAP developer studio?

Hi Jaisamma,
I just tested this, and for me it works as expected, within all explorer/navigator views.
Before reinstalling NWDS, check if the project itself may have some problem. Just create a new clean web module project and right-click on the project and try to access the BuildPath properties now. If it works, try to set up your project content again within this new project. Otherwise reinstalling NWDS may help.

My application is such that some J2ME Applications are loaded in a webserver. Upon the request J2ME should show how many applications are available in webserver and what are they.
Up to this part i am able to do. I can read the .class or .jar file from my webserver. But my doubt is how i can execute that J2ME application at runtime.

In that application there is a situation that i need to get remote application(MIDlet/CAnvas/Form/List etc) stored in my existing MIDlet suite and run it without killing my application that is currently running. Can you pls tell me if you have any idea about this.
2) Can you tell me how i can access/modify/create a text file in my WinNT system where my MIDlet application is running.

if i understand right j2ee depen. basicly means one is in another's build path and has to be deployed under the same war ?
another thing , if i placed one java application in a j2ee project build path why do i have put the same jar in both of 'em ? wil it be deployed twice ?

Can't add jsf doc to Java Build Path of Eclipse

hi all.
I don't know why i can't add java document path to jsf-api.jar in eclipse , if i add it and close the settings dialog , then back , i'll see it is empty (as i've not done anything yet ), although that Validate path say ok . it' no problem with other document such as rt.jar or javaee.jar .

That thread also brings up a good point with computer accounts; like it says there, mine is also mobile managed. I'm waiting to talk to IT and see if that's the issue - although again, everything was working fine earlier and my account permissions haven't changed since then, so that might not be it.

.class and .jar

Hi every one,
In a research lab that i'm working, we're developing a big software. Eventually we are trying to make it destributed.
Our problem is that every time we try to send our updated code to the our clients, we send the library in .jar. Bad thing about .jar is that it can be opened and all .class files can be retrieved which let people see the actual code.
Is there any solution to not let the poeple see the actuall source code???

Class files do contain actual bytecode, not just "headers". You can use a decompiler to get a reasonable facsimile to the original Java source code, especially if the Java source was compiled with debugging information.
In order to make decompilation harder, you can use an obfuscator to mangle some of the names the program uses. To make decompilation impossible, you can encrypt the class files using strong encryption and write a custom classloader that will decrypt the class files.

Applets and classes and jars

ok, this has probably been asked and answered a million times, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Apparently it cannot find the class or the jar. But how do I tell it where to find them?
The class is in c:/jdevinstall/jdev/mywork/SOD/SODReports/classes/mypackage
and the jar is in
c:/jdevinstall/jdev/mywork/SOD/SODReports/deploy/

Nothing to do with Servlets here... but:
The Applet JAR has to be in a path relative to the web page, or the server root. You are asking the client (the web browser the user is using) to download the JAR and look inside for the class to run. So the web browser must be able to see that JAR. As such it needs to be in a directory your server hosts. The easiest is to have it in a directory relative to the page that displays it, such as:
Web Hosted Directory:   C:\Web\HostedDir\
Web page location                       \MyApp\SODAppletPage.html
JAR file location                       \MyApp\lib\SODApplet.jar
Applet tag

Compressing classes and jars using pack200

Dear All,
As per the following I expected standalone pack200.exe and
unpack.exe in J2SDK1.5.0 Beta. But I could not find it.

Installing new version of itunes wipes out playlists and indivdual songs?

Can't access itunes store now, probably because I refused to install the recent upgrades. Current one is 9.0.2.25 and when I installed it, I had to completely recreate everything because this upgrade wiped out all my playlists, a lot of random downloaded songs that were in the Music Library and all the the songs I had purchased from itunes that I hadn't dragged onto my computer. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? In order to keep my playlists and all music, do I have to do a full backup prior to the upgrade and then restore it all after the upgrade? Thanks.

Very occasionally iTunes fails to rebuild the library properly following an upgrade. All you need to do is restore that backup you take regularly... Ah, OK.
In the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename *iTunes Library.itl* as *iTunes Library (Empty).itl* and then rename the restored file as *iTunes Library.itl*. Start iTunes. The library should be updated to the new format and hopefully it won't go wrong this time.

Grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes.

Unexpected Error in Keynote wipes out pictures and video clips

I have been working for several days on a Keynote presentation. I went to save my file and received the following message:
"An unexpected error has occurred. Please quit and reopen Keynote"
All of the sudden, every single one of my pictures and video clips was gone. The text still remains. I closed Keynote and reopened my file and received "missing object" error messages for any slide with pictures or video clips.
I tried and tried to restore the file, with no luck. So I did a "Save As" - the new file has no pictures or video clips. I also tried to export with no luck either.
Then I went and was rebuilding the file. I manually put all my pictures and clips back in. About 2 1/2 hours into it, on a totally different slide than before (about 10 frames prior to where it crashed before) I went to save and got the same "Unexpected error" message and lost everything again.

Permissions repair complete
This was the result of my permissions repair.
My question is if this crash was caused by the messed up permissions or not. I just don't want to dig into this Keynote again and have it crash on me and lose it all again.
Any suggestions?

I redid the file again after the permissions repair and it did the same thing. Now, I can still see all my images and files, but it won't let me save. It says that the file cannot be saved. It won't let me export or do a Save As. Getting very frustrating...
