Wireless Login

Hi
I'm using several wireless networks that asks for a username and passord, like this one:
Is there a way, so save these logins?
I always check the "Remeber me" checkbox, but it doesn't work.
Everytime I connect to the network, I have to write the username and password.
Thanks

If you have keychain enabled in your iCloud System Preferences, and Passwords enabled in the Autofill section of Safari's preferences, Safari should ask you if you want to remember the password. If the website is requesting that your information not be provided to Safari, you can turn on 'Always allow' in Safari Autofill Preferences.

  • Machine certificate RADIUS wireless login

    Hi all,
I have a customer who want's to have a computer authentication against RADIUS (allow only school devices to connect through SSID). As I am a network engineer I am struggling with NPS settings and machine certificates.
I have lab settings in our office where I am using Windows Server 2012 and configured domain certificates using the links below
    https://4sysops.com/archives/how-to-deploy-certificates-with-group-policy-part-2-configuration/#creating-the-certificates
    http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000919.htm
Under NPS I have two policies, one for domain devices and one for non-domain devices
    Domain_devices policy:
    Conditions - NAS Port Type - Wireless-Other OT Wireless - IEEE 802.11
Machine groups - domain\Domain devices  - PC added to that group
Constraints - Auth. method - Microsoft Smart Card or other certificate
    Domain_devices policy:
    Conditions - NAS Port Type - Wireless-Other OT Wireless - IEEE 802.11
Constraints - Auth. method - Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP)
When tested with iPad this was able to connect fine but when testing with domain laptop NPS is returning Event ID 6273 Reason code 16
Authentication failed due to a user credentials mismatch. Either the user name provided does not map to an existing user account or the password was incorrect.
password is correct as I am using same one for iPad as well as computer login
Anybody with an idea why it's not working?
    Thanks

    Hi Lukas,
Based on your description, the first policy is for domain devices, the second policy is for non-domain devices, the iPad is non-domain device and the laptop is domain device, is that
    right?
Due to the certificate was deployed via GPO, have you checked if the user or computer certificate was installed successfully in the laptops?
To verify if the user certificate was installed in the laptop, please follow steps below,
     1. Click
Start, click Run, enter MMC to open a Console.
     2. Click
    File, click Add/Remove Snap-in,
     3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins, click
Certificates, click Add, check My user account, click
    Finish, click OK.
     4. Expand
Console Root\Certificates-Current User\Personal, if there are not any certificate in this container, it shows that user certificate was not installed successfully.
To verify if the computer certificate was installed in the laptop, please follow steps below,
     1. Click
Start, click Run, enter MMC to open a Console.
     2. Click
    File, click Add/Remove Snap-in,
     3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins, click
Certificates, click Add, check Computer account, click
    Finish, click OK.
     4. Expand
Console Root\Certificates(Local Computer)\Personal, if there are not any certificate in this container, it shows that computer certificate was not installed successfully.
Also, the NPS server and laptops are all need to trust CA, so please check if there is a CA certificate in the
    Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates container.

  • 802.1X Wireless Login Failure when Rebooting

    Greetings All,
I have a mixture of 10.6.x laptops (as well as some 10.5.x) laptops - both MacBooks and MacBook Pros.  I have a Windows Radius Server with AD authentication.  The laptops have been programmed, via a WPA2 Enterprise trust certificate and AD credentials to authenticate to the wireless network - which works.  Problem is when I reboot, the connection doesn't keep.  I need to keep hitting 'Connect' - it doesn't ask for credentials again, it just works.  Reboot, same issue.  If I logout however (no restart), the connection remains the same.  Problem is that these laptops are also binded to an OD server, and at the login screenm I'm getting the red light for available network connections (because as mentioned above, in the background it wants me to re-connect).
I have seen numerous posts on this and/or similar issues but have yet to find a solution.  I have re-added the entry, deleted all keychain entries, etc.  It's just holding on after a reboot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Hi,
From the description, you suspect the DHCP request cause this issue. Would you please send us the packets? Since it seems that you have looked into the traffic and found some clues.
Meanwhile, I found the following hotfix which may related to this issue.
No response to 802.1X authentication requests after authentication fails on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980295/en-us
    Next Action Plan:
    1.Clean Boot
    a. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the Open box, and then click OK.
    b. In the Startup tab, click the "Disable All" button.
    c. In the Services tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" checkbox, and then click the "Disable All" button.
    ======================================================
    Clean Boot + binary search
In a Clean Boot, all the 3rd party services and startup programs are disabled. If the server can start normally in Clean Boot, we can be sure that the issue was caused by some 3rd party service or application. And then we can do a "binary search".
You can enable half of all the services in Services tab, and then restart the server to check the result. If the issue reoccurs, it means the culprit is in this list; if not, the culprit is in the other half. And then, we can continue the binary search, until
we find out the root cause. Please let me know if this action plan is OK for you.
2.Collect etl trace on the problematic client.
    netsh trace start capture=yes overwrite=yes tracefile=c:\net.etl filemode=circular
    ****Try to reproduce this issue****
    netsh trace stop
Please send the net.etl to us for underlying analysis.
For any concerns, please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Steven Song

  • Locating failed wireless login attempts and which access point they're hitting

We have a cisco 5508 WLC with about 190 access points.  They use Cisco Secure ACS to authenticate Microsoft Active Directory logins.  We sometimes get non-normal accounts attempting to login to our wireless but are unable to figure out which access point they're hitting.
When I look at the failed attempts in our Cisco Secure ACS 5.5 Radius Authentications report, I don't see an IP address, just the MAC address of the failing device.  Is their a way to configure either the WLC or the ACS box to report either the IP address or MAC address of the access point they're connecting to?

Is this something I need to set the ACS or WLC to send?  When I go to Other attributes in the "Authentications - RADIUS - Today" report, this is all I'm currently seeing.
    Other Attributes:
    ACSVersion=acs-5.5.0.46-B.723
    ConfigVersionId=3
DetailedInfo=Invalid username or password specified, Retry is  allowed

  • App to remember wireless logins, or keep them alive?

Given the number of wireless access points that are set up with an authentication screen, either as amenities (my grocery store makes me accept their TOS for free wireless) or security (my university uses a Bluesocket gateway) and the fact that my phone grabs those "known" networks automagically, is there a keychain app that will remember the login info for me or, at least, something I can install that will keep a data connection alive to those networks so that I don;pt have to authenticate every single time I wake up the phone?
I know it's possible to put a MAC filter into many of these devices to bypass the registration screen, but that's not really feasible everywhere from the position of an end-user...

    For your BlueSocket hotspot...
    http://melloware.com/products/bluesocket/
BlueSocket Authenticator is intended for people who roam on wireless networks with BlueSocket authentication. Many businesses and universities use BlueSocket and it can be extremely frustrating to have to open a web browser and log in every time a valid user wants to use the wireless network. Especially on the iPhone/iPod Touch because you have to re-authenticate every time the device goes to sleep for longer than 15 minutes.
The purpose of this program is simple: One-click authentication to BlueSocket enabled networks.

  • Wireless login to domain

    I have 15 laptops with micro-star 54g wireless cards, running win 98se.
I cannot get them to login to the domain at start up. However if I bypass the login screen, wireless connectivity starts - if I then logout they can then login to the domain.
Have tried XP on one of the machines and then same problem occurs.
    Thanks

I was waiting for the tech that I assisted last week to respond to me, but he hasn't so I googled this answer:
    Step 1
Press "Windows-C" to display the Charms Bar, and then click "Settings." Click the "Network" icon, and then right-click the name of the wireless connection you want Windows to use to connect to the network router automatically before login.
    Step 2
Click "Properties" on the context menu, and then click "Advanced Settings."
    Step 3
Enable the option box labeled "Enable Single Sign-on for This Network." Click the radio-button option labeled "Perform Immediately Before User Logon."
    Step 4
Click "OK" in the Advanced Settings window to save the changes. Click the "OK" button in the Properties window to complete the Single Sign-On configuration.
    Step 5
Restart the computer and log in to Windows with your username and password. After you log in to Windows, your wireless Internet connection is already active.
Basically, at the Windows login screen, the wireless adapter will connect to the preferred network and pass your credentials off to the network,as if connected by cable.

  • Macs forget wireless login password

I installed a Time Capsule last night for some friends. They have an iMac, 3 Macbooks, and a Canon wireless printer. They previously had an old Netgear router, so I pulled the Netgear and gave the Time Capsule the same SSID and WPA password. Everything seemed to work, their computers could back up, and even the printer worked. I was proud that I'd replaced their router without having to do anything to any of their other hardware.
Today, I got a frantic call saying that the network was down. Their DSL modem was alive, and the light on the Time Machine was green, but they had no wireless connection on 2 of their computers (the other two weren't home). They could see their network in the Airport drop-down menu, but when they tried to select it, they'd get "Connection timed out."
I suggested that they unplug the Time Capsule and let it reboot. After it came up, their Macs stil didn't connect automatically. However, if they clicked on their network, they were prompted for their network password, and they could successfully connect.
They've been using their old Netgear router for a couple of years without this problem. I don't think that the Canon printer had a problem reconnecting (at least they didn't mention it). They're still running Leopard. One of the two machines is fully patched, and the other isn't, but I did install the latest Airport update on it when I connected it to the Time Capsule yesterday.
This one has me scratching my head. I have an Airport Extreme myself, and have never had a problem with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

so I pulled the Netgear and gave the Time Capsule the same SSID and WPA password.
This is likely confusing the computers as they already had this information stored to connect to the Netgear router. When the computers tried to connect, they were looking for the Netgear network which was no longer there.
Suggest that you change the SSID at least, to setup new connections on the Macs, not in conflict with other older settings.
You'll also need to set the new SSID as the first connection that each Mac will look for first when searching for a wireless network. Post back if you are not sure on how to do this.

  • ACS 1121 error 5411 EAP session timed out w/Peap Wireless logins

I am having issues that came up in the last month where all of my wireless client devices (using 4400 WLC and AC 1121 Appliance w/Active Directory integration) using PEAP MSCHAP2 are being prompted multiple times one after another for their userid/password.
This is very intermitant with clients sometimes being able to authenticate on the first try and later in the day getting prompted 20 times for authentication before it works.  This affects all brands of laptops/tablets/smartphones and other devices.
My ACS log files show an error of 5411 EAP session timed out.
I have had a TAC case open for over a month but they still haven't found a solution.
Has anyone run into this and have any thoughts?  I have already increased my timeout on the controller from the default 2 seconds to 8 seconds but the delay between prompts asking for authentication credentials on clients is less than a second.
    What do you think?
    Jim

We are running 5.2.0.26.11 on the ACS engine and 7.0.240.0 on the WLC's.  The certificate on the ACS was expired, but for over a year without issues prior to about a month ago (our clients do have the verify certificate box unchecked).  I did renew the certificate on the ACS (self signed, just told it to renew) but that didn't help.
The only thing the clients get are multiple prompts for authentication usually a second or 2 apart even though my timeout on the WLC is set to 8 seconds.  A debug on the WLC shows the following.  Any ideas on what could be the issue?

  • Ability to download wireless login apps?

ok i know if it they allow it it will more than likely be after the SDK is released but would an application that is required to get onto a wireless network be allowed after the SDK or will it only be the apps that are submitted and approved? i ask because my school just switched over so that to get onto any wireless network you have to use Cisco Clean Access Agent instead of just signing in like you used to be able to do hence now i cannot use my iphone on the school network?
    thanks

    Hi Alex,
Thank you for your feedback.  I will pass this along.
    Thanks,

  • Strange wireless login loop

I just finished fixing a problem where my G5 kept shutting down by itself at random times by, among other things, running TechTool Pro and DiskWarrior, repairing permissions, resetting PRAM, etc (I think it was DiskWarrior that did the trick). Now when I try to get online via Airport I get a message that I need to enter my admin password. Fine. Then it asks for my 2wireXXX password. I enter that. Then it asks for my admin password again. I enter it and it asks for the 2wire password again. And then... well, you get the picture. Also, when I enter the 2wire password it says I keep entering an invalid password (which I know it isn't). Also, when I go into network preferences and look under "preferred networks," my 2wireXXX network appears 3 times. Don't know how that happened. I am not having these problems at all with my MacBook Pro. I'm losing my mind with this G5! I need to stop the endless loop.

First, in System Preferences, Internet and Network, Network, I would create a new location. Select Edit Locations, and click the + sign, and enter a new name, like '_test'.
Unless you have a specific configuration, select the AirPort interface, make sure it's turned on, let DHCP do it's thing, and see what happens.

  • Wireless Network Login

How do I go about setting up a computer to wirelessly login using network accounts through Workgroup Manager? We have a lab here already doing this on a wired network but need to set up a mobile print station that will not have access to ethernet.

Our network also uses the Cisco VPN client for authentication. Does anyone have any ideas???

  • After Security Update, NFS automount hangs login over LDAP

We currently have a laptop lab in the process of being set up. We have 45 MacBook Pro systems with Snow Leopard 10.6.4 installed. We had set up LDAP authentication for users to log in to our directory server and it worked great over both wired and wireless (WPA2). After installing security update 2010-005, systems hang upon logging in over wireless. We believe the problem is with an NFS automount we set up, because removing the automount allows users to log in successfully over wireless. The NFS is crucial so that users can save data to the server, however, so this is not a solution. Are there any configuration tweaks to undo whats been blocked by the security update?

After installing update 2010-005, I am having issues with my system hanging during startup (stays indefinitely on the grey 'apple' screen, with a spinning icon, and no status or message stating what it is trying to do).
I am able to restart, hold SHIFT, and boot into safe mode, with limited functionality, but have not been able to resolve the issue.
How did you determine that it was hanging on wireless login? (I have not found a log file that states what the system is doing during startup, or why its hanging)
I have searched for issues like this, and most posts recommend removing entries from /Library/Caches and other similar items, but I'm concerned that I might be starting out with a small problem, and then cause a much bigger problem by removing system entries without really knowing what's broken in the first place.
Is there a debug screen during startup, that would tell me what steps its taking? (or a log file?)
I've looked through all of the entries available to the console log review app (apps/utilities/console.app), and was hoping that 'system.log' would tell me what's going on, but so far I'm not seeing anything useful. (there are errors in there, and it looked like there was a crash around the same time as the update was happening, but I'm not seeing any entry during startup that shows what its trying to do, and reveals that its just stuck on that task)
I've run some of the tasks in the 'Snow Leopard cache cleaner' and onyx utilities, but that hasn't fixed my login problem.
Any info you have on further diagnosis, rolling back the update, or anything I should try next, would be greatly appreciated!

  • WRT54GS Wireless Problem

Everytime I try to get on the internet my computer wants to use the 10/100 network connection, insted of my wireless card. I can disable the 10/100 network connection, and it will use the wireless card. Is there a way I tell the internet to just use the wireless card?
    Thanks for any help,

Disconnect the ethernet cable from your 10/100 ethernet card.
Also, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
If the above does not fix the problem, then in your computer, go into your wireless settings, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys".  Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".  Reboot computer.  It should do your wireless login automatically.

  • SAP Mobile app Stock photo not work for network location

    Hi Experts
I found if we use network location path (e.g.
servername\pic folder\) in SAP Business One General Settings -> Path, Picture Folder, then if we logon SAP B1 Mobile app from iPad/iPhone, and try to open stock photo, we will get error:
    Processing Failed
Internal server error: contact your system administrator
It looks like it only work for local path, e.g C:\pic
Even we put path as :
local pc name\pic folder, it is also not work.
    Any idea about this?
    Thanks
    Tim

The first link is a temporary fix for a machine that only one or two people will use. This will not fix the Library Machines that some 3000 users can use at anytime. I can not pre-add all these users every time we image a machine. We also loan out laptops and I need these machine to wirelessly login dynamically to the domain. But I also need these machine to allow access if these machine are removed from our campus and the wireless access is not available.
Thank again for the help and I hope someone at Apple can fix this soon. I going to have a hard time telling the client that thay can not use the OS that came with they're machine.

  • After upgrading to 10.7.2, can no longer access Keychain or SSL sites

During the iOS 5 / iPhone 4S launch, while waiting for my 3GS to be able to upgrade, I simultaneously upgraded my MacBook Pro from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2. As soon as I did so, I could no longer access SSL-specified URLs in any browser. Specifically, and most annoyingly, the login page for my work's guest wireless system. HTTP sites work, HTTPS sites do not, in other words. I should mention that 10.7.1 did not give me this behavior.
I tried a number of things: clearing out Safari preferences, network preferences, etc. and finally tracked it down to what seems to be a certificate issue. I am guessing this, because I cannot launch Keychain Access. It kicks off, and builds the menus, but then goes into a rainbow wheel and becomes unresponsive.
After a flurry of things I tried, including dumping my personal keychains (~/Library/Keychains) and system keychains (/Library/Keychains), resetting PRAM (don't know why that would work, but it's always suggested), removing WiFi from the connection methods under a new location in the Network preferences pane, re-establishing permissions on keychains (chmod 755) and changing ownership (chown -R), etc. I got it to work. And it worked for the entire day while I was at my job.
After returning home, working there for awhile on my WiFi there, and then coming back to work the next day - same problem. But the sequence of things I tried didn't work this time. So, I tried a bunch of other things, including the things I did the first time and got it to work a second time. There didn't seem to be a magic bullet - it always seemed like "Ah ha! That's the thing I need to do" and then after another cycle of going home and then coming back to work, that one thing had no effect and it was back to randomly shotgunning diagnostics and troubleshooting methods, including:
    * Running Disk Utility from Recovery mode
    * Installing a fresh copy of Lion from Recovery mode
I've watched the console, and to be honest, I may be missing something, but I can't seem to pin it down.
The main symptoms, in summary are:
    * Wake computer from sleep, and my MBP connects to my guest wireless at work
    * Safari cannot launch - it goes unresponsive after the icon bounces for a minute
    * Chrome launches, but when trying to access SSL sites (primarily the wireless login page) it gives an ERR 7: timeout.
    * If I change the https: for the login page to http: - suddenly I'm allowed to logon and get internet access. But still no SSL pages.
    * Attempting to launch Keychain Access bounces the icon, the menus build, and then the program becomes unresponsive.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? I've done a lot of searching on this, and it would seem that another group of folks have a similar issue here:
    http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1435689.htm
Searching for "Keychain Access Not responding" and similar terms brings up some helpful stuff, but nothing that solves the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/163227/2011/10/fix_a_lion_file_opening_hang_in_m ac_os_x_10_7_2.html which I found in this thread: http://att.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=13625027#post13625027
Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.
    /cheers
