Hi swimdad45,
Members of a Family Sharing group may use credit on their own accounts, such as gift cards, to pay for their purchases. See this article -

  • How do i approve my kids app purchases with family share

how do i approve my kids app purchases with family share on my iphone?

    Hello andrewmarkp,
With Family Sharing, you can approve purchases with the Ask To Buy feature. The following article provides helpful information:
Family purchases and payments - Apple Support
Approving purchases with Ask to Buy
You can turn on Ask to Buy to require approval for purchases initiated by any family member who is under 18 years old.*
    iOS 8
Tap Settings > iCloud > Family, and tap your family member's name.
    Turn on Ask to Buy.
    OS X Yosemite
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Click Manage Family and select your family member's name.
    Select Ask to Buy.
Ask to Buy is enabled by default for any children under 13 years old, and can be enabled during the setup process for any children 13-17 years old.* You can't turn on Ask to Buy for adults.
If you don't wish to be billed for purchases initiated by a specific adult family member, you can remove that family member from the family group.
*Ages may vary by country or region.
Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to Ask to Buy.

  • HT201079 So with "Family Share"...you CAN NOT SHARE family purchases but ONLY PAY for family purchases?? Is this correct?

when my husband makes a purchase with family share is the purchase only available to him?

    Hello mklc5209,
I read your post, and it sounds as though you'd like to learn more about Family Sharing. I have linked to an article that will help you do that:
    Family Sharing
All your family’s purchases, on all your family’s devices.
Once you’ve set up Family Sharing, all the songs, albums, movies, TV shows, books, and apps ever purchased by family members are immediately available to everyone else in the group. And, of course, so are new purchases. The content appears automatically in the Purchased tab in iTunes, iBooks, or the App Store for each family member. Just select the family member whose collection you’d like to browse, then download or play the content you choose. Other family members can access your collection in the same way. If you want to keep some purchases private, you can choose to hide individual items.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    BobbyD

  • Having a problem with family share... it's telling me I can not add my daughter for a year!!!??? this is bullcrap n I need help to be able to add her... does any one have any ideas?

needing help with family share that isn't allowing me to add my daughter for a year!!!

That happens because there is a restriction from changing family groups more than twice per year.  Unfortunately, a number of people have inadvertently triggered this in the process of setting up Family Sharing.  There isn't anything you can do about it on your own; all you can do is contact Apple support to see if they would override this at their end.

You probably need to recalibrate the battery. See link below.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

If it is one year old minus one day it is still under warranty. If it is more than a year since you purchased it then yes, the warranty has expired.
Millions of iPads have been sold. Most continue to function long after their warranty has expired. Check the many requests about updating the iOS on the original iPad on these forums and you'll see that there are many iPads still working after three years. My iPad 2, which I had for over two years is still working well for my son in law who took it over from me when I bought a new one.
Given that there will always be a few iPads that fail early. Most of those will be covered under warranty. But some will fail after the warranty has expired and before the owner expected it to. I'm sorry to hear that you are in this category. Take your iPad to an Apple store and have it looked at. They will provide you with alternatives, one of which is to purchase a like model to the one that failed at a discount. You can then know your options and make the best choice for you.

  • I can't cap the number of active downloads (via persistent-connection-to-server cap) AND still be able to load pages hosted on the same server, *because*...?

I'm aware that, by setting "network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server" (in about:config) to 1, I'm effectively preventing myself from being able to download a single file from a server AND load a page hosted on the same server simultaneously.
My question is, why can't Firefox tell the difference between a file download and loading a website?
The reason I ask is that I feel I should be able to create a download queue and have my browser download one file at a time (to minimize the impact downloads have on available bandwidth and my own downstream, while allowing me to set up a long chain of sequential downloads), YET still be able to browse websites hosted on the same server.
I do not want to use an add-on or a separate download manager to solve this problem. I think that's stupid. Firefox should be able to tell the difference between a request to load an html file and a request to download any other type of file.
After all, I can already configure Firefox's file handling behavior for each type separately (I have, for example, previously set PDF files to prompt me to "Save as...", in order to prevent exploits from triggering when I click on a link, by preventing Firefox from opening them in-browser).
There is no reason I shouldn't be able to do what I have said I would like to. I should not HAVE to limit the number of max server connections in order to ACHIEVE filling a simple download queue with a 1-file-at-a-time limit.

In your Keychain under 'login' delete the VeriSign certificates and then quit and restart all browsers/itunes/app store.

We have 6 ipods and 1 iphone in our house. We have different itunes accounts. We use one computer. How can we share each others music? I moved everybodies itunes media folder to the public music folder but when I open itunes I only see that accounts music. We need different itunes accounts. We share 1 computer but we have different user accounts on the computer.

Adding media directly to the media folder does not make it appear in the library.  iTunes doesn't really 'look' at that folder except to go to specific files when you call upon them from a library. You have to drag new content to each user's library, that is assuming each user has their own library.

  • I just set up family share, but my kids show up as adults using their existing Apple ids. I want their statis to be child so I can set some parameters. Can this be changed?

I Just set up family share using my children's existing Apple ids. But theit statis show up as adult, is there a way to change this?

No, it's only with family sharing that child accounts can now be created (by the family organiser), you can't change existing accounts to be child accounts. You will either have to keep them with their existing adult accounts, or you can create new child accounts for them : Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids - Apple Support

  • Why does my music not show up for my wife with family share?

With all new devices (MBP retina using Yosemite/iPhone 6’s iOS8.1):
I’ve create my family share list with my wife.  None of my music shows on her phone, iPad, or computer.  Under Family Share on the Apple site, it suggests the ability to share and download what you like.  Not sure what is going on.  Any ideas?

  • Can 4th gen iPod Touches be used with Family Share?

I've 2 under 13 kids who were given 4th gen Touches when friend/sibling upgraded to a 5th.  I want to set up a Family Share for all the common parental reasons... eliminate duplicated purchases within a single household, control app purchases, etc.  The only instructions I see in the Family Share help pages specifically refer to iSO8.  Can a 4th gen be used in the Family Share program?

No. Family Sharing cannot be used on a version earlier than iOS 8, and the 4th generation iPod cannot update to iOS 8.

  • Will my iPhone still be tied to iTunes after iOS 5 and iCloud?

I am pretty sure that my iDevices will still be connected to a single iTunes library, but I really need to create a new library and I'm wondering if I wait until after the release of iOS 5 and iCloud, it'll be any easier.
I have been using iTunes for a very long time now and my file system still only has a music folder (no media folder etc.). I am interested in buying a new iMac and I'd actually like to take the time to transfer my files (documents, applications, movies, music, etc.) over manually and individually. I know the easier ways, but I like to start from scratch to maintain that zippy new computer feeling. I also want to take advantage of this opportunity to create a new iTunes library. That being said, after I transfer everything over to my new library, I know that when I plug in my iPhone or iPad, iTunes will tell me to erase the device and start from scratch.
I am wondering, however, if after iOS 5 comes out, and after iCloud is up and running, with the wireless syncing and automatic backups to iCloud, will my iDevices still be "tied" to a specific computer/library.
I am not nervous about the aforementioned transferring process, it is the syncing process that is worrying me. Has anyone done this (upgraded to a new machine, transferred files manually, created a new iTunes library, and then synced there devices)? If so, how did it go for you? Am I missing anything?
    Thanks for any help!

Yup, I'm having the same issue now with connecting my 3GS to iTunes. The USB drive isn't even popping up on the pc, telling me it's recognized. Not even that. I hope there's an update for this.

  • HT1711 If I delete a movie on my iPad will I still be able to download it again in the future without paying again?

I have purchased a film but when space becomes unavailable I will delete it to make room for other things but I still want it in case I want to watch it in the future, will i still be able to download it without purchasing it again, will it be available in iCloud and still in my library if I delete it?

Whether you can re-download films depends upon what country that you are in - they can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where they can, not all film studios have agreed to it (and there is no guarantee that a film will remain in the store for re-downloading in the future). You are better off copying it to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup of it before deleting it from your iPad, rather than relying on being able to re-download it in the future.

  • Is it possible to use fingerprint for App Store purchases but still be able to just swipe to unlock the phone?

I seem to make it where I can unlock my iPhone 6 with a mere swipe (without a passcode or fingerprint scan) and still be able to use fingerprint for app purchases. Is this possible?

    Hi,
I'm not sure if we can directly convert the Android project to Windows Phone/Store app project, but we can share the code between deferent platforms, as the documentation says here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn771552.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396#ShareHTML
If the code is specific to Android platform, it's not possible to convert it to windows platform I think.
