Wlfullclient jar and preserving jms javadoc

Is there a way in which when creating the wlfullclient jar file that the JMS API classes can either:
a. Be excluded
b. Or contain the javadoc
c. Or is there a way to easily create wlfullclient-sources.jar
Thanks.

a. No. But if you want a WL client jar without JMS capability, then, as an alternative to the full client, you can use the (slower) thin jars. The thin JMS client jar is different jar than the the basic RMI capable thin jar.
b. If you need API information, I think the general approach is to use the standard JEE javadoc, and then reference WebLogic API javadoc extensions (linked from the edoc) as needed. The "Reference" section of the 10.3 edocs sitemap is a good place to start: [http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/sitemap.html].
c. WebLogic does not provide the source for its clients.

  • Weblogic.jws.Policies.class is missing in weblogic.jar and wlfullclient.jar

    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade Weblogic from 9.1 to 10.3.2 or 10.3.3
In Weblogic 9.1, our application used weblogic.jar in our classpath.
After we installed Weblogic 10.3.3, the new weblogic.jar can be found in: <WLS_HOME>\wlserver_10.3\server\lib
However, some class files are missing and we realized we need to manually generate wlfullclient.jar and use this jar file instead.
    Reference: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html
The problem is that in Weblogic 10.3.3, the following class files are missing inside weblogic.jar and wlfullclient.jar
    - import weblogic.jws.Policies
    - import weblogic.jws.Policy
Hence, our application is getting an "The import weblogic.jws.Policies cannot be resolved" error in our code.
I look inside both weblogic.jar and wlfullclient.jar, weblogic.jws.Policies and weblogic.jws.Policy cannot be found.
This is not an issue in Weblogic 10.3.2. These two classes can be found in wlfullclient.jar
Any idea where I can find these class files for Weblogic 10.3.3 or something we are doing is incorrectly?
    Thanks
    Toan

    Hi,
This missing classes can be found inside the JAR : *"E:\bea10_3_3\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wseeclient.jar"* As well as inside *"E:\bea10_3_3\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wls-api.jar"*

  • Building Custom Worklist application in 11g using wlfullclient.jar

    Hi,
Can anybody mention me the detailed steps to be followed to build a custom Worklist application.
I have created a Web application jdev 11g
I placed the following url to create
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E1552301/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklistcust.htm_+
placed the following jars in classpath
    Wsclient_extended.jar
    Bpm-services.jar
    Bpm-infra.jar
    Wlfullclient.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    xml.jar
I did not find this bpm-services-client.jar* anywhere in the SOA stack. I am missing this??
and also place wf_client_config.xml under src folder the content is as below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <workflowServicesClientConfiguration xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/services/client">

And I have placed web.xml and weblogic.xml under WEB-INF folder.
I do not have any compile time error.
But when I am trying to deploy the application I am getting the following error.
If i remove the wlfullclient.jar I am not getting this error as it is trying to load something while deployment.

  • Not getting com.ibm.mq.jar and com.ibm.mqjms.jar files

    Hi Sudhir,
Thank you very much for your guidance.
But I am not getting com.ibm.mq.jar, and com.ibm.mqjms.jar files. what do I have to do to get this file?
And do I require both these files in getting initial context for JNDI.
    Thanks in advance.
    Have a nice day

    Hay,
theres also a zip file from IBM titled MA88 that contain the jar files needed for supporting JMS programs in a Java env (these files are included there) and they're also included in WBI v5.2 and higher.

  • Ojdbc14_g.jar and tracing

I have been trying to get tracing to work for the last couple of days. I have read all of the docs about tracing but I am still missing something. I am hoping that someone can fill in the gaps for me.
In my code JSP code I have the following:
    System.setProperty("java.util.logging.config.file", "/pirusfj/OracleLog.properties");
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleLog.setTrace(true);
    System.out.println ("Tracing turned on");
Where in my web directories should the OracleLog.properties file be so that it is picked up by the logger? Do I need to have OracleHome set to that location? Also I have everything set to FINEST. Should the log out put come out as INFO: log message or FINEST: log message?
The OracleLog.properties file is the one that came with the demo code and everything is changed from INFO to FINEST. Here is a copy of it:
    # OracleLog.properties Copyright Oracle 2004
    # Controls output of OracleLog for JDBC applications using
    # JDK1.4.x and ojdbc14_g.jar
    # See the Javadoc for OracleLog for more information.
    # Starting with Oracle 10gR1 the OracleLog system in
    # ojdbc14_g.jar for JDK1.4.x uses the services of
    # java.util.logging.* This file is a starting
    # point for controlling that output via a properties
    # file. Note that there is also a programatic interface
    # for java.util.logging which may be used as well. That
    # would allow finer grained control and the ability to
    # change the logging as the program runs.
    # Copy this file to your runtime directory to use as a
    # starting point. You should expect to change it to
    # suit your needs.

java.lang.InternalError: error initializing kernel caused by: java.lang.AssertionError: Duplicate initialization of WorkManager
If I use the "thin" client jars everything works fine. Unfortunately I need to be able to use the full client in some cases. Is there some way to get this to work or is there a conflict between the Weblogic classes and the other Servlet containers?
Edited by mhellkamp at 08/30/2007 3:42 PM

I believe the conflict here is with the Tomcat/Jetty WorkManager. I don't think the client was inteneded to run insides another container. That's why you're getting that error of duplicate initialization of WorkManager.
Why not replace the Tomcat/Jetty with another WebLogic instance? :)

  • JAX-WS Dispatch client was working fine until wlfullclient.jar was added

    Hi,
I have a standalone batch program which runs on jdk1.6.0_31. This standalone program has JAX-WS client and EJB client. JAX-WS client was working fine without adding any jars until I added wlfullclient.jar for EJB client. Now with wlfullclient.jar in classpath I am getting the below exception. Please let me know how to resolve this. Appreciate your help.

    Hello Ravish,
Can you please confirm the following:
    1) Check the Admin>Web Services Utilization page in CRMOD to see if the request is received
    2) Do you receive any response from CRMOD on the client side and if so, please post the SOAP response
    3) Have you tried other objects and had any issues with them?
    Thanks,

  • WebLogic JMS and MQ JMS Mix

I am writing a bean that reads a message from MQ (using MQJMS) and then write it
onto a WebLogic JMS ( something lika a bridge). However I don't want to use bridge.
              Question/Problem Statement:
Once I include mq jms jar files in class path. Would that in conflict with WebLogic
JMS. How do in my program I make sure that it is using the MQ or WLS JMS implementation.
I can have InitialContext() setup for mq in File and for WebLogic it is WebLogic's
Initial Context. Thats is the only thing that I can tell in the program.
Basically, I am trying to see what will make it ( fully qualified JMS Objects
or what) decide which implmenatation to use.
              Chris

The WebLogic JMS and MQSeries JMS classes won't conflict. Each JMS provider
provides different classes that implement the same interfaces, so you can
have a whole bunch of providers in your classpath and things should be OK.
Most code that's written to the JMS API (including the code inside WLS that
receives messages for MDBs) gets the JMS "ConnectionFactory" via JNDI, and
uses that to create the other objects. (It also has to look up the
"Destination" objects from JNDI.) When you code to the JMS standard only,
then the only thing that "tells" your program which provider is being used
is the ConnectionFactory class that you create or get out of JNDI.
Below is my usual plug for the white paper that helps explain some of this
              stuff:

Look for "Using foreign JMS provdiesr with WLS".

  • Can't get matching xdb6.jar, xmlparserv2.jar and ojdbc6.jar

No matter what I try, they are always somewhat different and I'm getting exceptions with JDBC on either setSQLXML or on .getString() once I retrieved the SQLXML object and want to get the content back or I'm downright getting "oracle.xdb.XMLType cannot be cast to java.sql.SQLXML"
How is it possible that Oracle who owns Java and OracleDB can't make a working Java driver? I just want to be able to work with XML, I didn't know this was asking much. I have OracleXE installed.

All you have done is complain. That is basically the equivalent of a five year old saying 'Mommy, my tummy hurts'.

What did you try? You haven't posted ANY information about what you are even doing, what jars, tools or code you are doing it with or HOW you are doing it.

What exceptions? You haven't posted ANY exceptions or any of the code that caused those exceptions.
Retrieved WHAT SQLXML object? Retrieved from where? What is the full name and version of the database you are using? For Oracle that would be the 4 digit version as returned by 'SELECT * FROM V$VERSION'. Oracle DB doesn't have any SQLXML objects; it has XMLTYPE columns. Is that what you are trying to access?

Where did you get them from? How did you get them? How do you know that they don't match? What is the full name and version of the jars that you are using?
Have you used this functionality before? Do you know how to use it? If you have never used it and have no expertise with it we need to know that so we can tell you how to get up to speed so you can use it successfully.
Since you haven't provided ANY of the information needed to provide any specific suggestions all we can do is assume that you are using the last, current version of Java and all jars files and have never used the functionality. In that case you need to start at the beginning.

    SQLXML Type
One of the most important updates in JDBC 4.0 standard is the support for the XML data type, defined by the SQL 2003 standard. Now JDBC offers a mapping interface to support the SQL/XML database data type, that is, java.sql.SQLXML. This new JDBC interface defines Java native bindings for XML, thus making handling of any database XML data easier and more efficient.
    The oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType Property
In Oracle Database 10g and earlier versions of Oracle Database 11g, Oracle JDBC drivers supported the Oracle SQL XML type (XMLType) through an Oracle proprietary extension. XML values were represented by instances of the oracle.xdb.XMLType class and the SQL XMLType values were read and set through the JDBC standard getObject, setObject, and updateObject methods.
The JDBC standard requires the getObject method to return an instance of java.sql.SQLXML type when called on a SQL XML type column. But, the earlier versions of Oracle JDBC drivers return an instance of oracle.xdb.XMLType. This does not conform to the JDBC standard.
The current release of Oracle JDBC drivers conform to the JDBC standard with the introduction of a new connection property, oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType. If you set this property to false, then the getObject method returns an instance of java.sql.SQLXML type. You can achieve this by using the following command line option while compiling your program with javac:
    -Doracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType="false"
If you depend on the existing Oracle proprietary support for SQL XMLType using oracle.xdb.XMLType, then you can change the value of this property back to true by using the following command line option:
    -Doracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType="true"
The value of the oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property is a String representing a boolean value of either true or false. If the value of this property is true, then the getObject method returns oracle.xdb.XMLType instances, when called for a SQL XMLType column. This is the deafault value of the oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property. If the value of this property is false, then the getObject method returns java.sql.SQLXML instances. This is the standard JDBC-compliant mode.
    Note:
The oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property affects only the result of the getObject method. All other methods conform to the JDBC 4.0 standard regardless of the value of the property.

The exception that you are getting
    >
oracle.xdb.XMLType cannot be cast to java.sql.SQLXML
    >
is telling that the XMLType is NOT an SQLXML type so you can't use it as one. That doc section above should tell explain that those are two DIFFERENT types. You use one or the other depending on which version of the functionality you want to use. You can use the older 'non-JDBC' standard or the new 'JDBC' standard. But you can't mix the two.
Review that entire chapter of the doc and see if that helps.
If not then you need to provide ALL relevant information if you need more help:
    1. Java version
    2. DB name and version
    3. JAR file names and versions
    4. Java code that demonstrates the problem
    5. EXACT copies of any and all exceptions and errors that occur
    6. A description, in English, of what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it.

I cant believe this little comment has been so helpful!
    But yes it is:
I explain, despite my efforts to find, googled it, forums, faqs, etc...
no where it mentionned the manifest.fm file is... INSIDE the .jar!
Your comment "a zip" made me attempt to open it with winrar, and I found a manifest.fm file inside!
So far I was editing the one at the "source" of my project and rebuilding it with netbeans.
I am going to try that now.
Actually.... :( no its mentionning my main class!

  • Unable to create wlfullclient.jar

I am trying to create a wlfullclient from <WLhome>/server/lib and I am getting the following error
my JAVA_HOME and PATH is set correctly, this is weblogic 10.3.3

    Hi,
    Try these
    Generate the wlfullclient.jar problem..

  • Re: Impossibile to generate wlfullclient.jar

Following those instructions results in FileNotFoundException being thrown for missing file:  weblogic-classes.jar
Since Weblogic is one of the FEW servers supported by Netbeans I really would like to get it going so that I can learn how to use remote EBJs.
Please fix the distribution of weblogic for the missing files (so that wlfullclient.jar will build) and let us download again.
    Thanks.

    No problem here

  • IllegalArgumentException when creating wlfullclient.jar

    Hello,
I am trying to create wlfullclient.jar as per the instructions here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html
When I run the "java -jar wljarbuilder.jar" command, I get the following:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: manifest
    at java.lang.Enum.valueOf(libgcj.so.7rh)
    at com.bea.jarbuilder.internal.JarProfiles$ProfileAttribute.valueOf(JarProfiles.java:24)
    at com.bea.jarbuilder.internal.JarProfiles.loadProperties(JarProfiles.java:63)
    at com.bea.jarbuilder.internal.JarProfiles.<init>(JarProfiles.java:39)
    at com.bea.jarbuilder.JarBuilder.processArgs(JarBuilder.java:100)
    at com.bea.jarbuilder.JarBuilder.main(JarBuilder.java:49)
I searched on Teh Interwebs and found some additional thoughts here:
    Generate the wlfullclient.jar problem..
I have tried running the commEnv.sh file as described in the last post of the thread but am still getting the same error.
Weblogic version 10.3.6 running on Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Fixed - I was running it against an older version of Java. When I ran it with version 1.6, it created the jar file OK.
