WLS 9.2: JSP error when attribute enclosed in double vs single quote

Hi all,
          We are trying to deploy a WAR file on WLS 9.2 on a Unix box. This app uses Struts, and does not use any app-server specific extensions/tags etc. We run into JSP compilations errors when we try to deploy as well as when we run weblogic.appc on the WAR. The errors are generally the same type..."This attribute is not recognized" for multiple Tags that are used...not just Struts tags, but even plain vanilla <jsp:include tags...liks so:
          LookupPO.jsp:102:72: This attribute is not recognized.
          <jsp:include flush="true" page="
          <%=(String)request.getAttribute("selectTile")%>"/>
          ^--------^
          However, if we just change the same tag to use single quotes for attribute values, like so:
          <jsp:include flush="true" page='
          <%=(String)request.getAttribute("selectTile")%>'/>
          then it works fine.
          What throws me off is that these tags in the same double-quoted format work well on other servers such as Sun Java System.
          Changing the double to single quotes for every single tag in our applications 600-odd JSPs will be a huge burden...is there any other way?
          Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Oh, that's what you meant. See what happens when you get old,
you go blind.
I have two suggestions. First, keep trying with cfqueryparam.
I don't use it that often myself because the db I work with doesn't
support it, but, I think it has a list attribute.
Second, what you are attempting, a loop within a query, is
intuitively more efficient than putting your query inside a loop.
This is something I have tested and what I found is that the most
efficient approach depends on the db. I did not test MySQL, but I
suggest you do. The gettickcount() function is handy for these
sorts of tests.

    Looking at the exception, it seems the machine is so slow that it could not give enough time for the report engines to start up can also result in this exception.
    Please try the following :
    Increase the callbacktimeout parameter for the report server. In server conf file that increase the callbacktimeout parameter for the report server from 1 minute (60000 milliseconds) to 3 minutes(180000 milliseconds)

  • Intermittent error on login page when username is entered as a single quote( ' ) and tab is pressed.

    Hi All,
    We have an ADF based portal application which has a login page with Username and Password inputText field.
    When we type a single quote( ' ) in the Username field and press tab to go to the Password field an error is thrown saying "A connection to the server has failed" and this window does not close if we click on ok or the close option of the popup.
    This is causing serious problems for us. It would be great if anyone could help us out as to why this is happening or if anyone has experinced the same issue.

    Hey Frank,
    Sorry for the delayed reply. Since the issue was a high priority one and had to fix it ASAP we didn't have time to analyse it further.
    We just inserted a javascript that prevented the form from getting submitted if a single quote is entered in the inputText field.
    So far it has worked for us.

    when they are trying to login to EBS,

  • GETTING AN INVALID PATH IN JSP ERROR WHEN PRESSING SUBMIT IN REVIEWSUBMIT.

    I am working in iProcurement, the ReviewSubmit page. The page has been extended to allow additional functionality.
    I loaded SP2 class files into my jDeveloper. When I try to compile any of our java files, I receive the following error:
    Error(1241,13): method processErrorRedirectsAfterSubmitReq(oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAPageContext, oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAApplicationModule) not found in class dms.oracle.apps.icx.por.req.webui.DeamsReviewSubmitCOEX
    Below is the code from the program:

    If I use SP1 class files I have no problems compiling the java code.

    This is class dms.oracle.apps.icx.por.req.webui.DeamsReviewSubmitCOEX not in your classpath. if you working with jdeveloper 10 g then add this manually to your project.

  • Precision error when adding numbers in double

    i have the following code
    double a,b;
    a=98.1;
    b=1.6;
    c=a+b;
    System.out.println("Answer is "+c)
    from the above code, answer c should be 99.7. However, the result shown by c is 99.69999999999999.
    May i know why is this happening and how to solve it? i guess this is a known issue and there is solution to handle it.

    These rounding errors in the bit representation may add up. Check this for example,
    double d = 1.0-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1-0.1;
    System.out.println(d);
    The mathematical result is 0.1 but the numerical isn't that at all. It tells you to avoid incrementing/decrementing floating point variables many times in a loop.

    Error - iLLegal angle situation. Only the main video angle will be simulated".
    From triggering a button on a menu targeted toward an audio only track I get this error during simulation.
    But nothing gets simulated. I know that if I put in video with the audio in the track I won't get this error but should I have to?

  • SQL*Loader and data enclosed by single quotes

    Hello,
    I need to migrate some data from Sybase to Oracle. Can't use the Migration Workbench because this is Sybase's SQL Anywhere product. We are therefore trying to load via SQL*Loader.
    Sybase outputs its data into text files and encloses it with single quotes, like:
    'ABC123',
    'UR94LL',
    '7YUHII'
    We are running into a problem because we cannot figure out how to use the OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY parameter with single quotes. If we just use the FIELDS TERMINATED BY parameter, then the entire string, including the quotation marks, gets loaded into the Oracle table. This causes bad records to be created when the data is exactly the length of the column width - the two quotation markss make the field longer than is allowed in the table. Plus - the data shouldn't have quotes around it in normal situations.
    We can do 'Find and Replace' to replace the single quotation marks with double quotations, but some of the Sybase tables are huge, and we'd like to avoid having to open and edit them. However, if this is the only way to go, then we'll have to use it. I just wondered whether anyone had run into this before and been able to solve it.

    Database version : Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
    Context: Generating DDL code for a an ODI Model
    PROBLEMATIC: When generating DDL code, all apostrophes (single quote: ') are removed from Datastore Descriptions and Datastore Colunms Descriptions in the process of generating Comments on Tables and Comments on Tables Columns. I tried to double, even triple apostrophes (in descriptions), without success. I also tried double quotes (") without success either.
    Ex: Datastore Column Description: *+ID de l'utilisateur+* becomes *+comment on table ... is 'ID de l utilisateur'+* in generated procedure.
    Do you know a way to keep the apostrophes when creating Comments on Columns and Oracle Tables by generating DDL code ?

    What is the problem about this.

    Do I get you right that you have changes the pk of the EO successfully and you see the error when running the app with the changed EO?
    Have you checked if the change of the PK was distributed to the VO too?
    Sometimes it helps to remove the component bound to the VO in question from the page and put it back on again.

  • File Not found error when calling Form Post Method to a JSP from JSP Portlet

    I have built a set of JSP forms using post method to call other JSPs. Normally, the code looks like

    I migrated the calling form containing this code to a portlet, but not the MyJsp.jsp. When I submit the form, I get a file not found in Jserv.log
    Exception:javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\servlet\RegisterCompany.jsp (The system cannot find the file specified)
    [14/06/2001 13:59:59:679 PDT] JspServlet: unable to dispatch to requested page: Exception:javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\MyJsp.jsp (The system cannot find the file specified)
    I notice that launching the calling jsp from a portlet, my opriginal context that uses ../Apache/Apache/htdocs is not being searched for the JSp. Why is this? Moreover, I try to set up an Alias in httpd.conf file to the this director and use it with the jsp in the action tag, but still get an error that my jsp servlets/Myjsp can't be found. Why is it insiting on looking at servlets context instead of htdocs.
    I have none of these issues outside of Portal30 using IAS.

    Initially, I couldn't do this unless I moved tghe jsp's up to the root directory of IAS, i.e ../Apache/Apache. Nomrally, htdocs is my doc directory for IAS. I could not do http:\\myUrl\htdocs\myJsp. If I tgried this, I got an error in Apache error logg that said can't find file ..\htdocs\htdocs\MyJsp.jsp.
    If I just tried the the URL http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp with Jsp file in htdocs, I would get an error in the Jserve log that file d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\MyJsp.jsp could not be found. Once I moved the file MyJsp to Apache/Apache directory, it could be found using http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp. Later, I delted these files and kept the ones in htdocs and they continued to work.
    I'm confused why launching pages through portal isn't consistant with Apache Standards. Where is the documentation that tells me how to configure context and aliases for pages launched from portal pages?

    Dear allm
    I had newly installed the JDev10g, but I got the following 500 Server Error when I click on a hyperlink in testing a jsp page, have I missed out some configuration tasks for 10g?? BTW, I am new to JDev also

  • Error when deploy a jsp page which includes customizable component

    Hi all,
    I add a customizable component to my jsp page. It works fine on local but when I deploy it and run the deployment I get the error below:
    500 Internal Server Error
    OracleJSP:
    JSP Error:
    Request URI:/islistesi/DevamEdenIsler.jspx
    Exception:
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: ClassLoader "islistesi.web.islistesi:0.0.0" (from <web-module> in /oc4j/webcenter/j2ee/home/applications/islistesi/islistesi/): This loader has been closed and should not be in use.

    Did you define a web.xml and application.xml file for the deployment of your application?
    Are you using deployment profiles to configure your application on a standalone OC4J?
